CHAPTER SEVEN
He dragged the small travel bag down the staircase,he met his mum sitting on one of the cushion reading a bible.he hesitated a little while and came closer to her.
"Promise where are you going to with bags"Mrs Benedict asked when she noticed his presence.
"I am leaving for school"he replied.
"Why?but you are through"
"yes,the past student government is having a get together where we will hand over power to our younger generation"
"I see,but how is that your concern"she asked suspiciously.
"I am one of the public office holder,i am a deputy president"he replied curtly because he was not happy at the interrogation his mum was putting him through.
"Promise,is it necessary you attend it"
"I wish to but i need an approval letter and a testimonial from our VC to spice up my curriculum vitae"he replied.He silently prayed this twist work out.It did.
"Okay,go in peace,may God be with you,and protect you from all evil"She prayed.
"Amen mum,i will be fine,just explain to dad when he comes back"he said

I am so sorry for not updating much.There is no light to charge and i was so busy but i promise to update soonest.

The car stopped abruptly and refused to start.
Promise came down and opened the bonnet.
He checked the plugs and battery terminal.
"Damn!what is all this na,why did this car stopped na?but i went to the mechanic yesterday na"he said rhetorically.
He plied out his phone and dialed a number but the line was not ringing through.
"Damn the heck"he stomped his foot in frustration.
His phone rang,he checked the I.D,it was Imelda.
"Hello baby"he said.
"Where 're you baby"Imelda asked.
"I am at sapele,my car just stop and i cant detect the fault"
"Ohh baby,i am so sorry,dont be late.It will be starting by midnight"
"Ok baby,i will fix it up,love you baby"he said and hung up.
He went to the bonnet and checked the radiator fans but all seems to be in good condition.
A car sped past and reversed,the car wind down and the driver alighted.
"Promisebosco!Promisco"the driver hailed.
Promise leapt up in joy and rushed to hug his long time friend.
"Felix international,long time no see"he replied and they hugged"how far"

"I am fine ohh,wetin you dey do for my domain na"Felix asked with all smiles.
"I am on my way to Abuja but this car just stopped and i cant detect the fault"he replied.
"It must be rewiring problem"Felix replied.
"I am in a hurry and i am confused here,i need to be at Abuja tonight"
"Okay,i will give you my car while i repair your car and drive it pending your return"Felix replied.
"This is Sapele/Shagamu,how will i get my car back"
"I dey come your side tomorrow and i go stay fot three weeks"Felix replied.
"Good timing,God have sent you to my aid"Promise said and they laughed and shook hands.
"Hope your car is good to go"
"Very good"Felix replied as they exchanged car keys.
"Thank you felix,thank you abeg"Promise said and dragged down his bag from his car and ran to Felix Nissan Bluebird old model while Felix stood beside his Infiniti Jeep.
He jumped into Felix car and drove away in excitement.
"This car is good to go as Felix had said,the car na babo,na skripapa"He taunted and shifted the gear lefthandedly.

His phone rang again,it was Imelda,he picked up the receiver.
"Hello baby"
"Hello Promise,have you put the car in order"Imelda asked.
"Baby i am on my way now"he replied.
"Really,i will be expecting you baby"
"I will be there baby,i love you scatter"he replied in happiness and hung up.
He twisted the gear handle like an ace and shifted it.
"This car na plane"he said to himself and laughed.
He bought some snacks from roadside traders when he got to benin and helped himself to it as he focused on the road with a One hundred and twenty kilometer per hour speed limit.
He danced to the wizkid`fever' blaring from the car speaker.
He brought out a stick of cigarette and started puffing at it.
*Three hours Later*
"which kind of sleep is this na"he said to himself trying to stay awake but he could not control it for long,the car swerved off the overhead bridge and somersaulted three times in the air before it crashed.
Passerby rushed to the scene and forrced out Promise lifeless body from the damaged car.

Some dialed the emergency dial to phone an ambulance while some tried to rescucitate him.
Promise got up only to still find himself still lying on the floor.
He tried to touch his body on the floor but was suprised his hands were sinking through the body.
He could not understand what was happening.
"Hello,what is happening here"he said to one of the people hovering over his dead body but no one was paying attention to him.
he tried to touch one of them but his hands went through their body.
He became frightened so he turned and ran away still looking confusedly at his lifeless body on the floor.
He kept on running and tried to talk to anybody he saw on the way but no one paid attention to him like he never existed.
He realised they were not hearing him.
He kept on running till he saw a man on white seating by the road,he stopped exhaustedly and approached the man on white.
"Hello sir,can you hear me"he asked.
"Of course i can"the man replied.
"Thank God someone can listen to me at last"he said and came close

..... I feel so sad right now. Promise, why? Why didn't you pity your parents? Imelda will go on with her life but what of your parents? You've crushed them already. Felix, thanks for being an agent of the devil.

"I just cant understand what is happening to me any longer,i was on my way to Abuja and had an accident along the line but i dont know those creatures hovering over a person that looks like me on the floor,i tried talking to them but they were not hearing me"Promise said.
The man on white who was facing backwad turned to face him.
"Son of man,you are dead"the man said.
"I am not dead,i am alive"Promise rebuked.
"I say you are dead,that is why noone is hearing or seeing you"the man replied.
"I dont believe that,i need to be at a birthday party tonight"
"Son of man you are dead and your soul is on its way to eternity whereby you will be judged based on your work on earth.You did not serve God well on earth so you will be thrown to hell fire to languish forever"
"Wait!so you mean my soul is on its way to eternity"Promise asked in bewilderment.
"Yes son of man,it is written in Hebrews 9:27 which says For it is appointed unto man to die once and after this Judgement follows.You are dead so Judgement is next"

Promise heart leapt on fear as he tried to recall those moment while he was still on earth.

He was smoking and drinking one day in school when a lady walked up to him and stretched out a tract to him.
"God bless you sir,Jesus loves you"the lady said.
He looked up in disgust.
"Will you get out of my sight"he shunned but the lady still stood.
"Bro,there is no good thing in the flesh,if you continue to obey the dictates of the flesh then get your soul ready for eternal damnation while the flesh will be buried here unpunished"the lady said.
"Are you deaf"he barked and puffed at his cigarette.
"I will leave only if you accept my tract"
He stretched out his hands and collected it and watched as the lady left.He took a glance at the tract with the title"ONE MORE GOLDEN CHANCE"inscripted boldly on it before he folded it and threw it int the wastebin.

"But you threw away all the opportunitis you had to repent,you hated God"

"I will go back now and amend my ways,i cant suffer in hell ohh"Promise replied and turned to go.
"But its too late son of man"the man told him.
"Dont worry dear,i will find my way"Promise ended and started running away.
The man shook his head in disappointment.
"Oh foolish son of man,Professing themselves to be wise,they became fools"He said and disappeared into thin air.

Pastor Benedict and his wife rushed into the hospital,they had received a phone call from the doctor who informed them of the accident.
As soon as they barg into the ward,they met the doctor and some of the people who brought Promise body to the hospital,they demanded to see their son.
As soon as Mrs Benedict caught sight of Promise lying in state,she bursted into tears.
"Lord Jesus dont let my son die this way"she cried uncontrollably as Pst Ben consoled her.

Sister Eunice and Brother Ken came into the ward some minutes later.
"Its okay mummy,he will be fine"Ken consoled.
"He is dying,my son is dying"Mrs Benedict continue lamenting in tears.
"Mummy stop confessing negative,lets keep our finger crossed in optimism,he will be fine"Eunice said.
"Its okay my children,but my own concern is that i am not sure Promise died righteously,we are still trying to fix him up back to God,he was just too stubborn"Mrs Benedict replied.
"God wont let him die this way,the calvary youths and the church prayer warrior have joined hands to intercede for him"Ken said.
"God bless them for me"Pastor Benedict said biting his fingers.
"He told me he was going back to school,i did not know he was going to Abuja until one of his Friend Felix drove our jeep into our compound and told us he saw Promise at Sapele,this boy lied to me"Mrs Benedict started crying again as her husband drew her closer and cuddled her gently.
"Our son will be fine"he whispered into her ear.
Eunice shook her head.

Promise ran into the church gate and turned to the gateman.
"Is Pastor Kelvin in the church"he asked but the gateman did not reply.He tried to tug the gateman shirt but his hands passed through it like vapour.
He hissed and ran into the sweat,he was already sweating profusely.He saw the Assistant Superintendent,PastorKelvin praying for somebody at the altar.He ran closer and stood to wait for the visitor to go before he sat on the chair,though he could feel he was sitting on the air.
He greeted the pastor who ignored him.
"I am so sorry Pastor Kelvin for being rude to you all these while,i have come so that you can lead me to Christ because my soul is on its way to damnation"he said and knelt down in front of the pastor who still ignored him.
"I am talking to you Pastor"he screamed.
The pastor phone rang and he picked it.
"Hello Sir,Pastor Benedict son is still lying lifeless in the hospital....I will be visiting the hospital now"Pastor Kelvin said,picked up his bible and walked out of the church.

Promise was shocked that he was ignored.what is wrong with this people.
"Pastor Kelvin,i know you are angry at me but you need to forgive me,my soul is about to be sent to hell"he cried while following the pastor who was even ignorant of his presence.
Pastor Kelvin opened his car and sat behind the wheel.
"Pastor Kelvin please have mercy upon me and lead me to Christ,i beg you"Promise knelt down again.
Promise was suprised when the pastor closed the door while he was still kneeling right in front of him.How was that possible,how can the door pass through him without hurting him.
The pastor started the engine and roared out of the church compound.
Promise got up crestfallen and turned,he saw the same man he saw on the roadside.
"what are you doing here again"He asked angrily.
"Son of man,i told you that it is too late now to repent,very soon the demon will come to drag you to where you belong,which is hell"the man said.
"Please give me more chances to amend my way,I was deceived by philosophies"Promise cried.

"Have you forgotten what your bible tells you in Colossians 2:8?Okay let me remind you,it say;Be careful and vigilant before anybody deceive you through PHILOSOPHIES and vain talks,after the tradition of men,after the rudiments of the world,and not after Christ.Weren't you warned beforetime"the man asked.
"I was just being foolish but now i know that hell is real and heaven is real"Promise cried the more.
"Your soul will perish,there was a lot of time but you wasted it.Your parent warned you,how about your church members,they warned you,But son of man you turned deaf ears on them.It was written in Romans 2:1;you are inexcusable"The man replied.
Promise fell on his knees in uncontrollable tears.
"You were suppose to be an evangelist,you were meant to win souls to Christ but instead you wandered away from Christ"
"Was that mistake,i will do that right now"Promise jumped on his feet"I can win souls for Christ now,give me a change"he added and ran away.
The man shook his head in pity"oh generation of vipers"

There is nothing like second chance,after death,we face judgement.
You see,a lot that had died never had a chance to return if not,there would be no sinner in this world,but now due to the science age we arr in now where we all believe in seeing before believing according to philosophic ideologies,the prayer of the rich man in the story of Lazarus Luke 16:19-31,God is now giving only a few people the chance to return,i have withnessed someone who died and came back.This is very rare and God allows it once in a very long time just to let people believe.
My dear,this is a fictional non-fiction,what i mean is that though the names are fiction but i am relaying a non fictional episode.

May death not catch us unprepared. May God be merciful.

CHAPTER EIGHT
He appeared inside Kenneth office,he met Ken reading porn magazine.
"Hello Ken"he called and made to touch Ken but he could not as his hand kept passing through Ken body.
Ken who was deeply engrossed in the magazine did not reply.
"Hello Ken,can you hear me"He asked but Ken could not see him neither could he hear him.
"I am here to preach to you Ken,listen the story about heaven and hell is real,you have to repent before its too late"he said and sat on the chair opposite Ken,he was sitting on the air instead of the chair and it was strange.
Ken phone rang immediately,he picked it.
"Hello Mrs Lawrence,God bless you"he started.The invisible Promise eyed him with disdain and shook his head.
"Hello Sir,i am coming over for the deliverance,please will you be chanced"the caller asked.
"No,i am busy right now with a deliverance case in my office,just book Bruceton Hotel which is very closer to my church and wait for your personal deliverance and make sure nobody follow you"He instructed.
"Okay sir"

"Hope you know that the enemy have laid an evil seed in your womb,so i am coming over to the hotel by twelve noon so that i can lay with you and uproot the seed of the enemy then you will start giving birth"Kenneth said.Promise exhaled in dissappointment with his mouth widely agape.
"Okay sir,i will be waiting there"the caller replied and hug up.
Ken bursted into laughter.
"Many Christians are just stupid enough,they are too lazy to read the word of God where the solution to their problem lies,instead they choose to follow wolves in sheep clothings who call themselves men of God.Foolish generation.I will go to that hotel and make sure i sleep with her till my satisfaction.they need miracles and prophecy so i will give it to them in exchange for their bodies.Stupid people"Ken said and bursted into a hilarious laughter.
Promise eyed him maliciously.
"Ken now i know that it is not God that called you,you are just like most of those pastors outside who claim God called them but God did not even know them,hunh?"

Ken ignored him and returned his gaze to the porn magazine he was reading.
"Ken,i know you wont listen to my warning that my soul is about to be sentenced to hell and the only solution is to win souls.Please come back to Christ"Promise pleaded in tears.He pleaded for about thirty minutes and then disappeared since Ken could not hear or see him.

Doctor Akpan checked his pulse,he inserted the stethoscope into his pocket after using it.
He moved closer to the chest and pumped it with his two hands.
The nurse,pastor Kelvin,Pastor Benedict and his wife,Eunice watched the doctor in silence.
Mrs Benedict was silently sobbing beside Promise lifeless body.Eunice was consoling her.
The doctor looked up dejected.
"Pastors,in all my whole life,i have never come across this type of case before.The heart is still pumping but no treatment is rescucitting him"Doctor Akpan broke the silence.
Pastor Kelvin shook his head.
"I wonder what he is passing through there in the other life right now"Pastor Kelvin replied.

"Let us be optimistic,God will help him"Pastor Benedict replied.
"This is more than what you think,it is more of a spiritual case"Doctor Akpan said.
"I am very sure he will be fine"Eunice and Mrs Benedict chorused.
"Nurse Sarah,feed him more drips"Doctor Akpan said to a nurse.
"Okay sir"Sarah replied as the doctor left the room.

He appeared into Imelda room,he met her applying medicure and make up.
"Imelda,i am sorry for not attending your birthday"he said but Imelda ignored.
"I am on my way to eternity and the only escape route is to win souls so i need to win you.Give your life to Christ now before it become too late"he said but Imelda could not hear nor see him.
"I know i offended you but am so sorry,this is not the time of sentiment,you need to give your life to Christ"
Imelda soon finished applying her makeup and manicure,she wore her stiletto heels and picked up her handbag.
"Imelda,dont walk on me"he thundered angrily but Imelda strided toward her door and walked out.
Promise disappeared.

Hmmm. When people could see him, he believed philosophy, now reality dawns, he is trying to win souls. May God have mercy and help us here to struggle to live upright lives.

He ran along the road and soon appeared in his father's compound.He met his father entering his jeep while his mother stood beside him.They were discussing sadly.
Promise ran closer to them.
"Darling,the doctor havent given us a hopeful update on him"Pastor Benedict said.
"I still believe nothing will happen to my son.I have prayed to God and i am sure he had answered my prayer"Mrs Benedict replied firmly.
"I am just confused right now,i wish he listened to us"
"I wish that also but now its too late,i am not concerned about him but i am afraid that his soul will be in danger right now"Mrs Benedict said.
Promise was stunned that they could not notice him standing beside them.
"Mummy,i am not dead,i am here"he interrupted but it fell on deaf ears as his parents ignored him and continues their discussion.
"Let me go to the hospital and check on how he is doing"Pastor Benedict said and entered behind the wheel.
"I say i am here in front of you,which hospital are they all talking about"Promise screamed angrily.

"Go well darling,while i return to the church and join the calvary youths who are praying for him"Mrs Benedict replied and turned to go.
"Dad,mum i am here to repent of my sins,my soul is in torment right now.If others forsake me,please mum,dad,dont forsake me"he cried and knelt in front of his dad.
His father took a sip of water from the bottled water he was holding,he soon splittered the remains on Promise who screamed in shock.Why did his father pout him water?he checked his body but found out that his clothes was not wet.He was terrified and afraid.Everything around him was strange but yet he have refused to inculcate the fact that he was dead.He still believed he was living.
"Dad,you poured me water"he asked in tears.
His father slammed the car door and started the engine,the gateman opened the gate as he sped out of the compound.
Promise got up and ran to his mother in tears.
"Mum,forgive me.lead me to Christ"he cried.
Mrs Benedict wiped the tears in the corner of her eyes and went into the house.

Promise sat down on the tiled verandah in weariness and allowed the tears flowed down in its torrent.
"Son of man,i told you that its too late now"
Promise turned to the direction the voice came from only to see the man in white again.
"I have tried my best but no one is seeing me or listening to me"Promise replied.
"There is now a great bridge between you and humanity.there is no link of the dead with living.they are two seperate world so you cant talk to them neither can they hear you,so the only thing that can save you from eternal damnation is your right standing with God and holiness.Wealth,car,mansions wont save you from the damnation that awaits you.
The only thing a man should desire in life is to do exactly as Matthew 6:33 had advised.It says"See first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,then all other things[cars,houses,wealth]will be added to you.But humanity chose to pursue after vain things,knowledge and forget about their creator"The man on white emphasized.
"Forgive me,please"
