I have been in a relationship with a lady for 5 years, 3 years into the relationship we had distance issue and it was badly affecting the relationship due to lack of trust. Last year I found out she cheated with a married man but she pleaded and I forgave her because I wasn't a saint myself and we both promised to change and be 100% loyal and I've kept my own part of the promise
.
The relationship have been shaky since then but we kept trying to make it work and this year we decided to stay together in her new school where she just had admission so we can rekindle our love. I've been down financially over the past years and I decided to start a business in the new town hoping things will change soon. I moved in with her though she just comes around once in a while due to school lockdown, I arranged my little savings and I set-up my shop but I had a little setback (a loan I was expecting didn't come true) and now the shop is stuck at about 70%, and I can't start work until I have everything setup.

Recently I found out she was talking to another guy (she mistakenly picked my call while she was in his car and the conversation was heartbroken), she came up with ridiculous lies and I tried to play along but it was too heavy in my heart, I tried to confront her about it that her story weren't adding up and I needed to know what really is going on so my mind can be free and was ready to forget and continue the relationship, but that got fatal as she changed it for me and told me she can't continue the relationship any longer.

She wouldn't talk to me for weeks and on our supposed 5th year anniversary I had to hit to her to make her reason with me but she's saying she doesn't love me anymore and she can't remember when she stopped loving me, she said she doesn't have to give me any explanation (though I know it's because of the simple fact that the other guy got her a new phone after I've been promising her one since she lost the previous phone but I had to put all my savings into my shop) Asked her why she let me come over here when she knows all this before, now she's saying she's sorry she thought it would work out and now I have until school resume to get my own place because we can't stay together anymore, I can barely feed at the moment and was working on completing my shop and this had to happen.

I'm lonely in a strange town and the only thing on my mind now is maybe selling off my shop and moving back to Lagos to move on

Everyday i come on Nairaland, i see different men complaining and it's always about wife or girlfriend. Nigerian girls are really horrible.

God forbid I get into a deep relationship with any Nigerian Lady

did you really study and learn about relationships before you JUMPED IN?

Because all I see here is the ONE MISTAKE of ASSUMPTION and WRONG CHOICES BASED ON THE ASSUMPTION.

If you know what relationship is, then you will know that NOT everyone is capable of having a real relationship... not every one is mature enough and not everyone knows what LOVE should be.


You both never loved each other.... DISTANCE only exposed it. LOVE IS NOT HORNINESS, but I guess that is what led you into relationship rather than CHARACTER AND VALUES.


So pls go and learn before you think you are qualified to write on heart break or relationship issues. You should blame yourself for entering the relationship the WRONG WAY. Go and read books, talk with those who have been married for years and are stable and still in love... THEY WILL CLEAR YOUR EYES ON MANY EMOTIONAL MYTHS you may have carried.
