Let me rephrase your question, should a born again Christian vote at all? If yes, a born again can contest
There are no laws given against voting but there are laws given against occupying positions of leadership over other followers of Jesus Christ. These things aren't pulled out of thin air. They are as taught you by Jesus Christ, the Truth of God. undecided

That is a lie

That is a lie
Really?
1. In Matthew 23 vs 1 - 16 , Jesus Christ commanded against any of His followers sitting as Master/Head, Leader/Rabbi or Teacher or even "Spiritual" Father over the others. He declared instead that we are all Equal in His Kingdom.

2. In John 10 vs 1 -16, the same Jesus Christ instructed that none who belongs to Him set self up as shepherd over any of the others, declaring that He alone is Shepherd over His sheep... everyone in His flock works for Him. undecided

3. The same Jesus Christ also commanded that non of His followers can serve two masters

4. The same declared in Matthew 20 vs 20 -28, against anyone of His own sitting in position of power(like that found among the gentiles, even in political world today) over the others in His flock, commanding instead that those who would dream of being greatest should instead serve as slaves to the rest. undecided

5. Jesus Christ also declared that the Kingdom which He has called His followers to, is not of this world, as we are called to instead live in submission and obedience of His teachings and commandments instead. undecided

So which part of the above mentioned is this lie you speak of? undecided

Your pastor is not a follower of Jesus Christ since even his claim to be a pastor is not of Jesus Christ and His entry into position of authority over other followers of Jesus Christ is also against Jesus Christ. undecided

according to the scriptures Nehemiah was a politician. so there is nothing wrong. God bless you
You are not called according to the gospel of Nehemiah but the Gospel according to Jesus Christ and under His rule, you are commanded against getting into leadership roles of any and every kind.. you are called to be a servant of God, not of men or the world. Pick one!

Wrong! Jesus Christ gave you the biggest clue when He declared that His Kingdom is not of this world. undecided

When a person becomes born-again, and gains entry into the Kingdom of God as a result, that persons focus is meant to shift from serving the laws and rules of this world as well as its politics, to serving only that which is of the Kingdom of God, and that is the Law as contained only in the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ. In His teachings are found no rules that pertain to serving this world's government and systems. undecided
Sorry, to ask? What has participating in governance got to do with serving the laws and and rules of this world? What is governance? A husband governs his home, the oldest person in an extend family governance the entire family. Should Christians also abdicate from such responsibilities? What is the difference between governing one's household and governing a community, a state or nation? The main difference is size, because without a system of order anarchy will ensued (and didn't your Bible tell you that God is not the author of confusion? Or are you also going to say that their won't be chaos in such a situation where there isn't an authority? ) Some of we Christians are too churchy, common, God created the earth (the earth is the Lord, and the fullne thereof) and then asked us to have dominion in it, not to hand it to unbelievers and then start complaining over their misrule. What did the Bible meant when it said
Prov.29:2
"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."
Please read your Bible and ask God to grant you the understanding of His word.

1. What has participating in governance got to do with serving the laws and and rules of this world -? Everything! Governance in this world has to do with having and gaining control over minds, bodies and situations.

Jesus Christ, on the other hand, calls us to let go of control over even our very lives to God. He went as far as declaring that anyone who does not die to/deny self, carry his own cross(no carrying of anyone elses cross) cannot be a follower of His - Luke 14 vs 25-27

2. What is governance?- In the world, it also has to do with abiding by and within parameters set by authorities and powers of this world. However, for those who belong to God and are hence initiated as citizens of the Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ is the government... the Law(Truth), the Master, the Way and the Power of God - all wrapped up in one. Those who are followers of Jesus Christ bow only to His teachings and commandments no matter what community, state or nations borders they find themselves in undecided

3. A husband governs his home, the oldest person in an extend family governance the entire family. Should Christians also abdicate from such responsibilities? - Actually, Jesus Christ more than made it clear when he announced He had come to drive a wedge between family members - pitching fathers against sons and mothers against daughters. even daughter in laws - that He did not come that you continue to practice the old family traditions you of this world are used to. He further sealed this message when He required He those who will become worthy of Him are those who will abandon their loved ones, including husband, wife and children for His sake - Luke 14 vs 25 -27

4. What is the difference between governing one's household and governing a community, a state or nation? - But Jesus Christ never called you to the governing of your households, or anyone else's as a matter of fact. undecided

Or are you also going to say that their won't be chaos in such a situation where there isn't an authority? ) - The only system of order Jesus Christ taught and instructed His followers to trust in and obey is His Truth, the teachings and commandments which constitute the Law in the Kingdom of God - [b]John 15 vs 1 -11 . undecided

5. I am afraid this is nothing to do with your churches which are built atop the dynamic doctrines and traditions of men, lies, Jesus Christ called Him as they have nothing to do with the Truth of God, the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ Himself. Instead this is about the unadulterated teachings of Jesus Christ and how His teachings are meant to help us live that life that is wholly dedicated to existence in the Kingdom of God, even as we exist in what you may call presence only, in this world. undecided

Jesus Christ made several things clear to all of His followers in His teaching and some are

* The Kingdom of God is here and now - Luke 17 vs 21- even though the same Kingdom of God is not of this world and so not lived according to the rules and traditions of this world which which the politics, fighting and protecting of ones treasures in this world - John 18 vs 36

* No one can serve two masters in the Kingdom of God - at any given time, you can choose to only serve God or another. You cannot serve God and the world at the same time. Even in what you call your homes, you cannot serve God and your family at the same time. You choose one or the other- Matthew 6 vs 24

* For those who belong to Jesus Christ, there is only one Teacher - God - and no other teacher- Matthew 23 vs 1- 15

* There is only one Shepherd to all those who belong to God's flock and God is the only Shepherd. Every other claimant to this seat is an imposter- John 10 vs 1-16

* There is only one Master/Head over every one who belongs to Jesus Christ and that is Jesus Christ. All others who pretend themselves head over anyone who belongs to Him, regardless of gender, is an imposter and not of God- Matthew 23 vs 1- 15

* There is only one authority/Ruler/Leader/Rabbi over all those who belong to Jesus Christ and that is Jesus Christ Himself. Matthew 20 vs 24-28 Every other who attempts to occupy such seat in the life of one who belongs to God sets his/her self against God - Matthew 23 vs 1-15

* There is only one Father in God's Kingdom and His name is God. Anyone who pretends himself a father over those who belong to God's flock is against God - Matthew 23 vs 1-15

Jesus Christ came so that we may live, no longer according to the whims and politics of this world but the Will of God, of which this world's government and politics is not of. undecided

BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS are difficult to IDENTIFY for people who capitalize their gesture on man-made doctrines regarding holiness.
If you know what Jesus said about being a CHRISTIAN or BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN you will realize that there is no way a Christian could have anything to do with Politics talkless a BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN!

I am not a one who takes delight in baseless arguments, especially as it concerns the scripture, and the fact that you skipped mention of the part where the Bible talked about the righteous being in authority put an end to any need to respond to you.
But hear what Jesus said in John 10:34
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

God made us gods on Earth because it's His and he expects us to enjoy it to it's fullest and then return and be with Him in heaven and enjoy eternal life with Him. Check what 1 Corinthians 10: 26 says; For “the earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it.”
And 1Peter 2:13-14 admonished us thus,
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution; whether to a king or one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.
So please, you can keep your argument to yourself but as for me the Holy Spirit has made to understand that as Christian we are the light of the world and should impact the world in everywhere we find ourselves, whether in governance or not.

1. The Old testament statement about the righteous being in authority applied as far as the Kingdom of Canaan and God's Old Covenant Law of Moses which also only applies to those who are of the blood of Jacob. We, however, are not called according to that Covenant but a New and separate one, Jesus Christ, the Law in the Kingdom of God. We are called, not as Kings but as Sons/Servants of the one who alone is Master over us all. undecided

2. Yes, we are gods on earth and the same Gods have been called by Jesus Christ to separate themselves from the tradition and rules of the Earth to the serving of God in His Kingdom which is not of this world. undecided

3. What Peter stated in 1 Peter 2 vs 13 - 14 is not against the teaching of Jesus Christ at all. After all, Jesus Christ Himself did not fight back when the authorities came to take Him away to kill Him. We are not called to fight against the world and its authorities but live according to, or as that verse there says, for the Lord's sake with them. undecided

4. The Holy Spirit would never tell you a lie .I.e. contradict the Word of God, Jesus Christ, no matter the circumstances. So, there is no way He will tempt you to sin against God Himself by asking you to go against the teachings of Jesus Christ. undecided

5. Yes, we are called to let the light of Jesus Christ shine through us so that the world may see the light of Jesus Christ and the only way that can happen is through submission to and obedience of the very teachings of Jesus Christ. undecided

Now please do not confuse the world's notion of letting one's light shine with what Jesus Christ has commanded of us, for the world's light is that of self-righteousness which we know is nothing but filthy rags where God is. The light of Jesus Christ is one built on directly obeying God's own Law, Jesus Christ, in all ways, no matter what. undecided

Most of the first worked to let the light of Jesus Christ shine through them, and so submitted to and obeyed the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, and as a result, many of them were murdered for it. Stephen, an example in the book of Acts is one example of a young man who let the light shine through Him. To the average Christian out there, he made little to no impact to the world, but in the eye of God, such a one is what He seeks. undecided
