Our VP was was right but not honest.
For the purpose of justice, fairness equity and national unity all tribe must tasted all the good positions equally.

If an appointment at every level is on merit some of those who are in the civil service will not be there...most of the appointment in the government office is by nepotism.., favoritism....so since the person you gave the appointment didn't work for it, how do you think he or she will perform....like some of the Federal Minister appointment that we have now....half of them do not qualify for the position they are presently occupying and tats is the reason why the country is not moving anywhere because those that suppose to oil the wheel of the progress of this country are incompetent....

Those giving the northerners a bad name are the middle belters (north central). Trust me people from Kano, bornu sokoto and Fulani generally are very intelligent.

Just as people from south south are the ones drawing the southerners back.

In the case of north central, it’s the case of lack of access to good education.

For our south south brothers (and sisters) it because of lack of seriousness and laziness.

Allowing quota system to take root in Nigeria is like allowing Orangutans and Gorillas into your banana farm in full harvest season. Chasing them out is easier said than done.

Nigerian Mechanical Engineering student, Usman Dalhatu made this portable automatic ventilator. He is a 200 level student of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU).
After being empowered by Gombe state Governor he transformed his emergency ventilator idea into portable E-vent automatic ventilator
I swear this guy is made for life as he is the sole owner.

This isn't Osibanjo's view. He is saying Federal Character based on Merit. Meaning, if it is a representative needed from the South West for a position, let it be on Merit same with any other region needed for a position.

The Federal Character applies not a one-sided appointment where just anybody is given a position or one done on political basis.

i can confirm this,typical Christian Northerners blends pretty well with southern stand but the Muslims,.......oh God.....,NYSC and public exams exposes them .
You won't believe that on two different occasions two corpers from North could not tell where their platoon number fall within an obviously placed sign post during collection of Transport allowance during My service year??
Like we had to ask him for his tagged and tell him where to queue because they couldn't spot it .

All tribe have a competent person. It is good to look at merit but geopolitical zone also is very important. You can't say all the competent person are coming from one tribe.

You don't understand the issue.
Federal character has nothing to do with election.
A deaf dumb and illiterate may contest as long as they get people to vote for them.
It has nothing to do with merit.
