Redcrafton: STATES OR REGION SHOULD NOT ONLY BE SEMI AUTONOMOUS, THEY SHOULD HAVE CONSTITUTIONAL POWERS TO SEEK FOR INDEPENDENCE IF THEY SO WISH. Scotland almost left the United Kingdom in their last referendum. The federalism should be very loose to provide for easy entry and easy exit if you do not like the way other regions are managing the union. ALSO, ONE REGION CAN DECIDES TO GROW CANNABIS TO GENERATE FUNDS provided the state or region remit tax from its earning to the federal authority. That is federalism. State that desire to earn from chewing stick like Yobe state can decides to cut down their coat according to their material and earn from chewing stick. 3 Likes |

contigiency:OTHERS HAVE BEEN MAKING AUDIO NOISE ABOUT RESTRUCTURING BUT THEY FAIL TO PRODUCE ANY DOCUMENT THAT WILL GUIDE & DEFINE THE TERM RESTRUCTURING TO THE NATION After years of non committed propaganda by some groups, finally the real heroes have spoken. Media opposition & unguarded utterances are not enough to achieve a complex achievable policy objectives. If my southern brothers were serious about restructuring they would've followed the legal and acceptable way to push their agenda rather than just calling others names for agenda they can't even define. Though restructuring is opposition in disguise now the real men make the right move, through legal & acceptable means to get the nation restructured. Average Northerners don't like the current marriage if you doubt me go & see their social media reactions about Nigeria. The political class want Nigeria to remain in their hands for personal gain. The reality is we need to restructure in the interest of all not the way Igbos want it. Igbos hate Nigeria with passion & they only want her fall down which they can never witness (I'm not instigating them but it can be seen clearly in their utterances). Northerners have leadership DNA, this can be seen from this proposal. The truth is North isn't rejecting restructuring but they've consistently been asking what are we going to restructure? When they ask this question all the agitators look confuse in their definition of restructuring with no clear direction. North understood the sinister in 2014 CONFAB which have about 800 representatives from a state with less than 2m people and Kano was asked to be represented with less than 100 delegates. There were lots of selfishness agenda in the CONFAB. If not because of ignorance of governance, how can you be asking President to restructure a nation or use unconstitutional CONFAB to restructure while we've NASS & everyone is fully represented in the house? Legislators are responsible for making laws not Executives but the barking dogs are always shooting at a wrong target. Their ignorance of governance couldn't come with clear request for restructuring untill North seize this chance to use the opportunity of constitutional amendment offered by NASS asking every group to submit their demands. I hope the restructuring will involve 85% resource control by states not selfish sinister of leeches hiding behind region to extort and drain other states with FG retaining the remaining 25%. Many people see sovereign nation as a toy game; we've military, foreign envoys, foreign and local intelligence, security agencies, and lots of other critical govt organs which require good funding for the nation to remain relevance in he eye of the world. Now Nigerians are hated almost everywhere in the world which is attributed to the bad attitude of few Nigerians exported to others nations, we need to be stronger in this chaos & war prone world because the moment we're weaken militarily & financially some little countries will threaten our existence! 2 Likes 1 Share |

restructuring is not answer when corruption is left unchecked With a very corrupt regional power, things can be get worse than today With a very corrupt leader, even a country that makes $1 trillion in a year will still be very poor and very backward. Tackle corruption and you will start seeing results 2 Likes |

Misterdhee1: I understand where Gidgiddy is coming from! ‘Those guys’ as you call them, didn’t just wake up one morning and begin denying their Igbo heritage! It’s the result of the machinations and the divide-to-conquer policies and covert actions of the core muslim north and their helpers down south...all aimed at denying Ndigbo access to the sea; shrinking our territory out of pure spite, hatred and wickedness; and removing hydrocarbon rich parts of Alaigbo for easier exploitation and so Ndigbo can’t develop as they should! If you feel the above assertion is unfounded, care to provide proof of pre-1966 denying of their Igbo heritage by these grps? The best you can find are accusations of marginalisation by their fellow Igbos....same thing you still find today in every state or zone! So Gidgiddy feels there’s a need to counter these machinations and give these deniers a opportunity to rejoin their kinsfolk under one pan-Igbo umbrella! My own is that no one should be begged! Just give a time-frame by which all who consider themselves Igbo in Benue, Delta, Rivers, etc, will join the fold after which the door will be closed and we can then say definitively who is Igbo and who isn’t! 2 Likes |

Now oil price has been down for too long at the international market. Subsidies has been removed. Most of all lots of solid minerals are been discovered in some Northern states , even including Diamonds in commercial quantities and even possibilities of crude oil too. The North has suddenly agreed for resource control and restructuring ehhhhhhhh 3 Likes 1 Share |

gidgiddy: Remove Ikwerre from your list. We Ikwerre people are not igbos and fought for the division of old eastern region which led to the creation of Rivers state. So there is no way Port harcourt city It’s sea port, airport and central location for the South South states from Edo down to Calabar, the lagos of the Niger delta people to be added to Igbos Eastern region? It is not possible! Because apart from that, the location of Port harcourt is the center between the states in the South South, we Ikwerre people are not igbos and have no business in joining the igbos for any region or state, whatever it is called. This map is the clear difference between the Niger delta (South South) and the Igbos (South East): Know your boundary!! 7 Likes 2 Shares

gidgiddy:If I remember, there was a meeting of all Igbo speaking states in the year 2002, and the Delta Igbo speaking states came back fuming over the insults given to them by the Eastern Igbos by referring to them as in the manority and as such they were not allowed to join the meeting. I wonder why now they think the Deltans are now a better choice. I hope Deltans will look at the union very well before anything. The Deltans should remember first and foremost the past insult and also remember they were taken out of the west. Igbos are deadly/cheat smart to have liasion with. 4 Likes |

Gordieshegz: Bicameral legislature is still good Due to the complexity of Nigeria What they should do is to trim the cost of maintaining them Britain is much smaller than we are But have more MPs than we do have Senators and House of Reps combined If the legislature was passing Bills that impact the lives of Nigerians directly and positively I doubt if anyone will complain as much But they are just there Collecting pay They cant justify 2 Likes |

I have been observing the whole thread, studying everyone's opinion and I can say this : The North is up to something mischievous once more with the off-land in-land resources policy of a thing. I don't support that 12 states arrangement. I don't think states like Rivers and Bayelsa would be happy to be reunited again. A lot of minorities wouldn't like it. The big question is , why haven't any leader(s) from the south come up with a memorandum since we've been the ones advocating for it the most? I want restructuring and I think this is a time for southern leaders to put heads together and think of what they want. Franky I don't think the North wants this restructuring and that's why they've concieved a model of Nigeria they know the south will reject. My 2 cents. 2 Likes |

IGBOSON1:Parasite spotted. We're not backward ppl, going back to 1960 or 1966 dwarf our sense of decorum and mental reasoning, where is our intellect? The 36 states were created as a result of immense marginalisation from major ethnic groups, more regions were created as a result of extreme domination & marginalisation from major ethnic groups. This is a parasitic thinking of conquering & looting of neighbour's resources. Each state must stand on its own. No formalities will be entertain. 2 Likes |

The Edo/Delta should know they are to talk about Midwestern Region as it where and not joining merging with any region if they are not going back to the old. The North suddenly realise restructuring is good after they have been able to take everything in the South and they are still scheming to strip South bear. Fg is saying the governors are aware of water bill, I guess they will consent the swimming pools in their houses so that their homes can be used by fulani herdsmen routes. Yes master governors as somebody said about the Southern leaders. Money/positions are reasons they are using their Citizens as collaterals to get 3 Likes |

I know my root and you know your root so when I say you are not from Igbo does it justify my claim? Only you know your root and can justify your root just like the Ikwere people have done.
