Now I see why we need to restructure. It's to our credit if every region is developed. Autonomy of power is not the best.

Karlovich:
A peaceful and prosperous city before their warlord decided to send them to war.

Without mincing words this a very insensitive and callous statement.

Worse is you think it doesn't matter.

You make a dumb statement about something as sensitive as the civil war and think it doesn't matter.

One day, as everything in nature, you will receive the reward for your evil mindset. And it won't be long too.

I am looking for a countries with similar multi composition like Nigeria and runs a unitary system of govt, that has developed into first world country..

If you know, kindly point out to me, would like to study the countries.

Split Nigeria into six nations and save the lives of our future generations. If we dont do this now, our future generations may fight brutal and deadly war!

The gas mask on the masquerade tells a peculiar story and re-enforce my belief that our ancestors were in close contact with alien beings who wore space suits and gas masks to adapt to our climate.

British are aware of this and the UK runs a confederation based system of govt and still allow the confederations to vote if they still wants to be part of the confederation!

There is a way the Europeans managed to develop: the Europeans understood the dangers of fussing multi ethnic nations into unitary political structure with absolute and semi absolute powers, they instead, went for the creation of sovereign nations across Europe. According to research, nations tend to do well than states. Sovereign states with unitary political systems are worse hit!

Nigeria, a country with high number of educated people should, as a matter of urgency, dissolve this map created by the greedy British colonial masters.

How we still allowed the British empire to determine our existence beat my imagination!

Maduawuchukwu:

The regions were dissolved and the capitals lost their former status. Kaduna,Ibadan and Benin city suffered the same fate. Only the FCT Lagos which remained the Centre of governance continued flourishing at its former pace.

If for a place to look nice, it must be a capital, then something is definitely wrong in the country,

I'm America, Canada and Australia, the country's capital cities aren't the commercial capitals. In America's case, I doubt Washington DC ranks amongst the top 10 cities.

The same goes with state capitals. Albany, the capital of New York state is nothing compared to New York city. Im sure you've never heard of Albany.

California's capital Sacramento, is a midget compared to Los Angeles. I doubt Sacramento comes top 10 in California's biggest cities.

This just shows Nigeria's propensity for corruption, rent seeking and government spending in picking winners rather than the private sector.

With what I'm seeing here Enugu should have been cosmopolitan like lagos owing to its advantages in been the capital of the old region but it doesn't just fit well.. Something is wrong somewhere

Yeah just like the other regional capitals like ibadan, benin and kaduna would have been super developed if they had stocked to regionalism
This fake federal system of government is what is killing us... regionalism would have brought competition between each regions (which was happening back then) and innovations. By now we would have plenty places like lagos in nigeria
But d military/war/coup spoiled everything

Splitting countries is not are problem. The problem
With your average Nigerian or African us mindset. The cities you see it the pic was created by the British who put structure In place. I rather we be colonized again then to be under the rule of your average African or Nigerian because I know law and order will be the structure. You can hardly find pics like this before the British cake which sows you that there was nothing like this. No other race hates his fellow African than a African himself

What is wrong (?) is that Lagos is an international trade route and Enugu is not that kind of city not necessarily because of marginalisation but because of absence of environmental resources like a major River or a sea and an history of commerce like Kano. If Onitsha , Nnewi and Aba had been capitals all this while, surely the southeast would have had cities as big as Lagos, Kano and Port Harcourt.
