I don't know if it's general but it happens to me too. In my case It's always very brief so you probably won't notice if I don't accelerate at that moment.

Let's wait and see what the gurus will say.

Honestly this happened to my Nissan Altima 01 model. Mine started when I travelled to Sango Otta in ogun state. I entered one heavy flood that almost covered my car and when I got out of the flood, that was when this issue started. I was told that my oil filter must have been clogged that I should service the gear. I bought a new gear oil and the filter was serviced. After this the issue still persisted and I don't know what to do again. I have been managing it like that coz I don't want kazeems to be tampering with my gear. I will be glad if I can get a solution to this issue. Oga Gazzuzz abeg help me oo

I should mention that mine has been resolved. I topped up my gear oil with an extra 1 litre and it stopped since 2 days now. I drive an Acura not Honda... As silly as that sounds. wink

I hate to repeat that common line. Have you scanned the car.

And checking your transmission fluid is a DIY job.

Watch a video and see how it is done.

just to add, kindly ensure to use ONLY genuine Honda dw-1 ATF for your transmission otherwise.....hmmmmmmm. Honda transmission DOESN'T give problems as some are made to believe. however, Honda transmission is VERY fluid sensitive. for the man up there who topped up with Dexron lll, I recommend a complete drain and refill with the recommended fluid otherwise start to save up for a new tranny.

I think you should change your transmission fluid now if you’ve never done that before. It’s going to take 3 liters of Honda ATF-DW1 type of fluid. Don’t use any other one.

If the problem persists then you will need a scan of your vehicle to try and pinpoint the issue

Is there still gear oil inside. Just pray there is. If there isn't,hahahaha, pray say your gear no need replacement.
Re: Honda Accord (EOD)2005 Gear Disengage While Still On Drive by coldcandy: 6:32pm On Nov 26, 2022
It is not transmission fluid issue but low engine oil quantity.
Some Honda engines consumes oil alot.
I just add a litre of engine oil whenever mine disengages like that.
