Jubilation as FMC Abeokuta's MD gets second term nod from board


Members of staff at the Federal Medical Center located at Idi-Aba in Abeokuta have been thrown into jubilation following the recommendation of the Board that the Medical Director, Prof. Adewale Musa- Olomu, should serve a second term in office.

The board Chairman , Dr. Abdul Aziz Labo Mahuta made this disclosure while having in audience a team from the office of the Hon .Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora on a working visit to the Centre.

The team included the Senior Technical Assistant to the Minister Dr David Atuwo mni and the Minister's Personal Assistant, Mr. Michael Ogunsola.

The board chairman remarked that the Medical Director had performed creditably in his three and half years in office hence he deserved a second term .

Dr Labo . Mahuta made reference to the Medical Director's landmark achievements in the areas of provision of hitherto lacking basic facilities, building projects, introduction of key specialized disciplines such as cardio thoracic and above all, enterprising leadership prowess.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Head Public Relations and Information at the Center, Mr. Segun Orisajo.

In a related development, the Board had issued a letter of commendation to the Medical Director for 'Effective Leadership in the Centre'

In the six paragraphs letter signed by the Chairman, Dr.Labo. Mahuta, the board commended the Medical Director for _strategic growth and development of this Centre, demonstrated through effective administrative acumen_.

The board members particularly expressed their delight to identify with the Medical and the Management team in your consistent efforts in making the Centre to reach preponderant heights.

In his response, the Medical Director, Prof Musa- Olomu thanked the board chairman and distinguished board members for the confidence reposed in him assuring them of his unalloyed commitment to the holistic transformation of the Centre.

Similarly, the Medical Director appreciated the board for the enormous support to his administration which accounted for the present success stories.

He pledged his determination to work harder for greater achievements.
