People have the right to react. If he kept his opinion to himself, no one would question his life style or ways of bringing up children.

Maduka shouldn’t be telling the public that he uses ‘rubber band’ to hold his phone from disintegrating. If he does that, he is being mean to himself, family and the gullible people that idolise him and might copy such ascetic silliness.

I hope he doesn’t use of the expensive BMWs that sits in his showroom otherwise I’ll call him a hypocrite. He should be driving one of those 1960 VW beetles type of car.

Why should we be applauding a man who denies his family the benefits of cable Tv? That’s sadism. How could he say that? What does his children watch? NTA?? That’s even worse than child abuse.

He could motivate people to cut their coats according to the size of their cloths not display his eccentricities, there was no inspiration in his speech.

We call his type “Udo eji eke ego” or aka glue.

Your choice shouldn't be another person opinion. Don't use your initiative to sound like one motivational speaker.

Cause by God grace I can't use a ban to tire my phone despite am not rich. How much does it cost to change a case?

What does it profit a rich man to tire his phone with rubber ban?

It is not about the phone or rubber band. I it's about the mindset. Being thrift and minimalist generates a different level of happiness.

Understanding that you can do without anything is freedom

When successful people tell you the secrets of their success, most of us cannot 'stomach' it. Their lifestyle is directly opposite what you expect to hear. Their secrets are weird and most of us, 99.9999...% of us can't do it!

Just like Covid-19 pandemic has shown, it is those balling hard that have nothing to fall back on in time of emergency. They are ok as long as no major life changing event occurs. He may be stingy to some but he ain't starving. He has a lifestyle that most people could dream off. Guess who are judging him now. Peasants.

Wise words, I wonder why people are judging him.

Holding his phone together with rope or rubber band is his business. That is personal but the bit about raising his children in certain ways would elicit a few eye brows.

Children are human beings and not some sort of pets. Certain methods would trigger negative public reactions and even a visit or invitation by the authorities. Certain ways of bringing up children or interacting with them would raise safeguarding issues.

Some ways that we see as normal are actually neglect and abuse which impacts negatively on the mental development of individuals.

If Cosmos Maduka boasts of not allowing his household access to cable tv...there’s a problem.
Someone in a deprived household/neighbourhood like Makoko can be excused and empathised with because they couldn’t afford that. Kids from such areas might be motivated to work hard to afford these...btw cable tv isn’t luxury. It’s necessity. If you are interested in politics, you would have access to a variety of news source not just NTA talking about party politics and whitewashed government achievements.

You can watch Discovery channel, National Geo, How it’s made, different cultures and sports. These are very positive for the mind. Life isn’t all about a strict parent telling their kids to sit and read, then shout and beat them. If one is worried about the media content, certain restrictions can be applied.

Maduka can afford these and there’s no reason why he should deprive his children these necessities. The ignorance of these type of individuals is that they see certain media outlets as bad and corrupt. Eg BBN.

In school, i met lots of kids from Maduka’s type of home. Kids with very rich parents, made As in the WAEC and very high scores in JAMB. They preach at the podium before lectures. About 5 years down the line, these kids changed and would tell you every porn star, distance themselves from parents, start piercing their bodies, tattoo, visit massages parlours all over Europe with very happy endings.

Maduka need to calm himself down and ease the ‘lockdown’ in his house. I’m sure if anyone talk to his kids, the revelation would be shocking. Being super rich with weird methods doesn’t make you a good parent.

I met a lot of d type of kids u are talking about too, but u don't know d whole part of maduka's story d ages of d kids when he restricted them from watching TV, he also gave them time that they would be allowed to drive a car if u watch d video to d end he said some of his children now use iPhone 11 or so.... Every parent has his/her style of raising their kids

Old trick, Mark and the likes do same and own luxury stuffs too, one of his rides is the Pagani Huayra and damn that's not some 2006 corolla kwa, these men enjoy luxury big time don't fall for optics man.
