the embezzlement spirit they are having it will need more than just one pastor to cast it out

YOU WROTE NONSENSE IN NICE ENGLISH. The plants are already bought by private sectors and FG just want to sell their remaining shares as part of the power sector privatization. These plants have been operating better than when they are under FG. Investment in the power industry is huge and Nigeria needs private investment if we want to have a stable electricity. In the last two years, FG has paid over 600b in subsidy and capacity payments and this is not sustainable.
You made mention of United state postal service making a loss of over 70b dollars over the years and it is not sold......70b dollars is like our 2 years budget that we even have to borrow to finance. Can we take such a loss as a country?

If you are saying we should not engage the private sector, I wonder how you want Nigeria to grow especially when there is no single business or enterprise handled by the govt that has made any progress. And , please don;t compare us to those European nations that are heavily taxed and have social safety for their people. Nigeria has a population of almost 200m, with majority not productive and not paying tax. We don't have the money for father xmas in Nigeria.
Think about this, the budget of California is like 4 times of our total budget as a nation.

Madness... Assets built with about 4 Trillion will be sold at about 10% of the value. It's sad. We keep selling off national assets for crumps and leaving huge debt profile.

We can't leave the economy of this country in the hands of the private sector.

Who told you Government has no business in business?

We should be careful how we push this capitalism narrative. What the society needs transcends beyond profit.

Why has America the capitalist headquarters of the world maintained United States postal service that has made losses of about $70 billion in the past 11 years?

Why haven't they sold it to DHL or Ups?

Most European countries today that we want to run to operate socialist economy to a large extent. You go to Germany today citizens are entitled to free education, subsidized housing and health care. England, Sweden, Denmark, Holland same thing. Price of food commodities has been at almost same rate in the last 20years.

Let them leave the economy in the hands of the private sector and see if they will have the stable economy they have today.

It's only the assets in South south they always want to sell. Are there not assets in the north. Why not start with Kaduna refinery that has not been producing for years? Don't be surprised that the buyers are from the north. And the money will not be accounted for.

Govt is the essence of business in many countries around the World except in Nigeria where nepotism is corruption by fixing incompetent men and women everywhere, hence no dynamic brand is traded. How did Awolowo and Alhaji Jakande performed wonderfully well during their time when at that time there was no oil! .Let nobody deceive you, even in America they maintain the balance of appointments but also provide good roads, rail, modern technology,Science, research and development. In our country,we have MD/Chairmen who don't know prices of Commodities under their nose! How did they get their appointments?
Government is the major provider of contracts and they see to thorough implementations by ensuring merit not appointment by tribes or religion!

Bros, that is why we have laws. Let the laws hold whoever that is found culpable.

A country with over 100 million extremely poor people representing over 50% of the population can't run free market capitalism. It will end in total chaos.

The stable economy we yearn for will never come from the private sector. Instead, few billionaires will emerge with more extremely poor people.

I was younger when cement factories were privatized. Today, has it actually improved our ability to own houses? Rather, Housing deficiency continues to grow. At the last count we needed about 20 million units of housing. How can we come close to solving that when cement has become more expensive in Nigeria than what it's sold in the international market?

The people in place to enforce the laws are the ones breaking the laws. What laws are holding Diezani accountable for the billions she looted ?

You don't understand economics. Having govt owned refineries functioning at 50% doesn't help the economy. They don't produce jobs. Theyre piggy banks for corrupt politicians.

Nigeria produces oil but spends the money they made importing the refined products.

The private sector ensures production and efficiency are the main objective. This will translate into steady jobs and reduce unemployment. Private companies must compete for talent meaning better wages and benefits.

Nigeria has proven over the last 50 years the government is incompetent. Would you like to wait 50 more ? What else could logically be done besides privatize ? Would you like your kids grow up with 24 hr electIricity ? The govt doesn't care because they can afford industrial generators.

Atiku said he wanted to sell refineries and he was literally lynched. These people simply lack ideas to make Nigeria work. They are always modifying what opposition politician say they will do and make it sound like its their own idea. The system has simply run aground.

Bros right now the power plants are in the hands of Pdp stalwarts like Adeleke who will have first refusal on a 100% sale so your thesis does not hold water. Power is definitely not being sold to cronies. Bad example yo make. Pick something else.

And your reasoning also told you that Atiku would have given the refineries to his cronies, right?

The distribution companies they sold we have not seen the impact after ages now they want to sell power plants. Why not just sell the entire country? Since with every passing day sense keeps evaporating from them.
