Also had similar experience some years ago. Bashed a two weeks old Toyota SUV. And the the most interesting aspect of it was that i used one of my dad's official car to cause the damage. And my dad didn't authorised nor did I even had his permission to drive the car in the first place. To cut the long story short, the owner of the SUV told me that the only way she can let go is if I call my dad. Had to call my dad from office. You need to see how he was fuming when he finally arrived. Since that day I resolved that I will forgive/let go of anyone that damage my property unintentionally. 4 Likes |

Carchoice:I had a similar experience last week Sunday. I just crossed a traffic light and this guy parked by the roadside. Ordinarily no one should park there. Ordinarily too, I should have passed without any incidence. Then, I clipped his side mirror. I looked for a wider portion of the road and parked. He came out blazing. I told him I was certain it was my fault. But like your case, he was angry and rightly too. I asked him to call him mechanic, he said he doesn't have. How much do you want, he doesn't know. Oya take my number, he was like, what will he do with it. At that point he said, let me go remove my car from the road. That was it. He literally disappeared before my eyes. Lol 8 Likes |

Bros, if you know what is in the heart of that man you will pity him. I understand why he was angry, he was angry because most of our youth with the little money we have we think we can control the world, that make us to always be on the rush lane. i know some youth will not understand till you are in that man's shoe then you will come back and read this post again. Guy is well just pray for him and always be careful as we enter the new year. 6 Likes |

But even third party insurance can take care of this. Why are Nigerians not using it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Carchoice: Sorry about your ordeal, but you are a wise man. Your ability to pick out lessons out of an undesirable and impromptu event makes you wise. I must applaud you also, for admitting fault. It is something some of us are not accustomed to. Nigerians need to adapt the " where are you rushing to" mantra. A lot of people want to get rich fast without necessarily putting in the work. Students want to ace and progress without putting in the work and some even resort to all sorts to vices to achieve this. The resultant effect of all these is a crash and when it happens, they question God, compare their progress with that of their mates and so on... Life na jeje!!! 6 Likes |

Funny story. He just wanted to vent his anger. He probably has a comprehensive auto insurance. Which most Nigerians neglect. If you have a comprehensive auto insurance where you pay 2 or 3 or 4% of the total cost of your car depending on the plan a year. NOT THAT 3RD PARTY RUBBISH. You will not even have time to be shouting. You will over look it and call your insurance to inspect and give them price to fix and your money is back. Some Nigerians are also naturally wicked, they will still collect money from you even when they have comprehensive auto insurance. So OP if you had an insurance plan that covers that other damages cause by you, You will not be speaking be calm down. Simple call them and they do their work you paid for. 4 Likes 1 Share |

J111333:Same here bro. Mine was on Saturday. The man came from my blind side and I started apologizing for my damage immediately I came out. I checked his SUV, (Toyota Highlander) and told him we needed a panel beater to fix his disjointed bumper. I was waiting for him to call one or ask me to call mine. Sincerely I won't mind picking the bills. Instead, he kept insulting me and my wife who sat beside me for not calling my attention to his vehicle on my blind side. I was angry but then I understood that he was angry too and our mood will not undo what has been done. I refrained from reacting negatively as he was expecting. After hulling insult at us without any negative response from us, he entered his vehicle and drove off. I learnt that as much as possible, I should not assume for my blind side to be free. I should always make allowance for others who probably don't know what my decision tree look like on the road. Above all, I should be mindful and careful of my responses no matter what. 6 Likes |

We are always in a rush from this part of the world. If only we could calm down and take the chill before we make the decision. One thing I have learnt is that, the 1 second you refuse to wait can take hours of waiting. 3 Likes |
