I swear, I saw some old folks during mine as well.

I think there is no big difference between NYSC EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE AND DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE.. so why not apply for exclusion instead of bothering yourself.. I feel is a waste of one good year that can be well utilized.

I think there is an age ceiling at which it becomes optional

You will surprise that you will get a befitting job while others are still serving their fatherlands.

I hope you get a better things to do, most importantly use that one year productively to learn something new. Like photography, it can be learnt under one year and can be a side hustle for you on weekends.

Like someone stated above me, NYSC does not worth it to alter your age. A friend of mine even abandoned his PPA and went back to Lagos to venture into business. He has been going bigger ever since.

it's either u graduated b4 you became 30 and dint go for it then and decided when you were that age or you reduced your age below 30 to get mobilized. otherwise you are a fatfuck liar!

You must be less than 30 years before the date of graduation.
I served before I graduated at of 29years 11 months 354 days. I was mobilized nearly 2 years after graduation.

There is no age limit....

Once you’re above forty five you can’t go to NYSC again, that is why lalasticlala didn’t serve

If you are already 30 at the time of your graduation from undergraduate, you will be exempted. But if you graduated say at 28 and you decided that you want to do other things with your life before you serve, and then you decide at 40 for whatever reason that you are ready to serve, you will serve oo. Because when you finished undergraduate, you were eligible to serve.

The Act states that one must not be more than 30 upon graduation or obtaining a diploma

So, if you graduate before 30, you are eligible to serve. If you graduate even a day after clocking 30, you become ineligible.

NYSC is mandatory if you are below 30 years at the time of graduation.
At over 30 you have the option to either serve or get an exemption.
Meaning people who are above 30 when they graduate can make the choice to do NYSC if they want to or if they don’t, they get an exemption.
Which is why you see some comments about people over 30 serving.
Mandatory for below 30, optional for over 30

If you graduated at even the age of 30 . It's most likely you will serve. The NYSC posits that if you are above thirty, you wouldn't serve. So it depends on when you are graduating
