Even though this bunkering has its bad side - the environmental degradation, its good side cannot be underestimated.

As at today, 60cl of kerosene is N50

I dont have issues with their activities, my own is the pollution, if they can be professional small and arrange the processes well, they should fire down, mexican drug lords do this but they are very neat with their tapping, steal but preserve the land for future generations.

If you’re a millionaire in the midst of poverty, are you really a millionaire? Uplift your community and not just yourself. If I was the one making such money whether legal or illegal, I will buy most of the land then pay outsiders to run the same oil-cleaning expedition the government is dragging their feet about.

keep shot, put yourself in their shoes, although what they ate doing is wrong and crime, the gvt is also a criminal, artisan gold miners too are criminals.

How could you take so much from a community without first putting plans in place to ensure that their livelihood is not destroyed, their livelihood is already destroyed and they are on the wrong path of survival.

In the last decade, several unemployed and restive Niger Delta youth, who feel entitled to oil wealth in their domains, have taken to the creeks, puncturing pipelines carrying crude oil to Nigeria’s export terminal, and refining it using primitive methods.

Though the proliferation of this business seems to be filling the gap left by the country’s dysfunctional refineries as well as superficially enriching the communities, the level of ecological degradation to an already heavily-polluted environment is staggering. Good, destroy, destroy everything in this country, wallow in filth, let’s never build but destroy, forget about the future, destroy the land, tie rag around your face, wear pants down your butt like a thug but tell yourself that you are industrious and that you are not stealing and destroying the environment forever but taking what’s ours. Even as thieves let us be the worst type of thieves, which is dumb peanut brained ones that will continually do things the crude way like cave men digging among the dirt, or like war-torn child soldiers, boozing, raping killing and squandering. Let us not do like the mafia would do which is turn the art of smuggling the oil into an industry that involves polished, orderly infrastructure.

Let us show them youth mentality. Destroying will teach them. Stealing oil instead of doing other forms of hustling is too slow and does not get you quick riches. Wealth is all that matters in life; Bleep women and children; Bleep the old people; Bleep the community and Bleep up the land. Use explosives for better results. Yes, turn the land to hell, because, after all, did the government not pour oil under the foot of the youth, making the road to a prosperous future too slippery? angry

The FG should encourage them by buying the refined crude from them. If Zamfara could buy gold from illegal miners, let the FG too buy this illegally refined.

These guys can make up to 60m a month, settle navy n police with like 20m.
U donno what's going on in this country.

They do not know, even in jetty at portharcout refinery, some of these things were going on some years ago, but now I don't know. A night they pay you 1.2 million naira one night to allow it to happen, if you refuse those guys will shoot you and you die for nothing.

Come ph, the fuel just dey like water, e no go even reach 1 week 50 liters of fuel don finish for office.

Ken saro wiwa wasn't perfect but he will be rolling in his grave. It's these things that contribute to the black soot.

Rivers people are one of saddest. All that money can't ever organize themselves

Yes. In as much as nothing justifies theft and bursting of pipeline, still, I will say the creativity of these guys should be applauded by the government.
These boys are building local refinaries and can bodly refine the crude oil themselves.

The government should better absorb them, sit them down and discuss and learn how they build functional refinaries......

Imagine the capacity of just one of the guy's local refinary.

These guys creativity can be harnessed by the government, instead of taking our crude oil abroad and buying the end product back at a ridiculous price.

They are not doing anything spectacular
What they are doing can easily be done by a chemistry graduate

By the way, the fuel they are “refining” is very dangerous both to health and to motor engines.

Well, I don't have anything against him, his people are suffering because of water pollution and lack of basic amenities while black gold is at their doorstep.

But the problem is why does he choose too cast himself out by giving so much information? Or does he have the intention of early retirement for the job?

Go and collect it and take it to Adamawa na.....

The South should just imagine if the North had even an Oil-well... They'd broken up since....

To them, they have food and meet...If they have oil nko? Everywhere for be stew for them.....

They have nearly everything. And they're absolutely in control of their natural resources, but will never allow the South to control theirs.......

I wish this country could just break apart.

It's not their fault na. The southern politicians have given them so much power by making them to believe that if they (politicians from the South) don't worship them (the north) they cannot achieve their political dream in the federal level.
We should be blaming our politicians selling us out to gain favour from the northern politicians.
