drinoayo: Well, the Senator should look on the bright side here... Talking about generating IGR, Benue state can actually exploit this avenue to start boosting its revenue now that the governor has set the ball rolling. You bash your spouse, you travel over to Benue to get the governor to settle it within 24 hours and pay a small fee. Same way people fly to Dominican to get their divonce done within 24 hrs. That's all. I was impressed with how the governor handled the 'crisis', you see. 2 Likes |

Those two clueless people smiling in that pic think domestic violence is a joke. If that woman were their daughter, it will be a whole different facial expression. Just look at the battered woman's face. No wonder they do all they can to make their pre wedding photos and wedding events perfect. That's the happy part of the marriage. The later part is African's version of 'for better for worse'. Clowns. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Aquilapriscilla:Don't mind that person. From that statement of his or hers, you would know that the statement came from a very young person. That person doesn't know that some people transform with changing circumstances. No MAN ever marries a Lady with the intention of beating her. These beatings are subject to situational changes. Although some grew up in families where such is prevalent. |

Alaska90: Well, the woman kept it quiet until it got too much. Many women have kept it quiet. In my line of work, I have heard a few tales from women who are keeping it quiet. In the end it does not end well. A friend of mine kept it quiet...and then she and the husband moved abroad, he continued, she kept quiet, till he beat her so bad it became a police case....and it was because she refused to press charges that the husband escaped. But to his credit, he has not beaten her again (it was a wake up call) Domestic violence is a criminal offense and a governor should not take the position of a court of law True...very true. It would have been much better if the Law did its job. But the law does not do its job well in Nigeria. 3 Likes |

vixpal:It was really Bad. Them help her apply MAKE UP.. (that's the foundation of the make up). She doesn't need Black Opal or Red Opal again. That beating was an overdose of makeup. We know, Most times their mouth dey run on solar panels, always charged. But MEN should resist that temptation. Instead leave the apartment and relocate for months. Provided u have a job, u can go to work from ur new rendezvous. As a Man, always have your personal savings as a backup for yourself and not your family. |

magicminister: Very true, but sadly this is Nigeria She divorces him, she would be labelled a loose woman and a failure in her marriage. She allows prosecution...she would be known as a bad woman who disrespects her husband and her extended family It's a hard road. 3 Likes |

"What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.. ". This is the guiding principle of the governor. The marriage was for better for worse... Even when love dies... God hates "putting away"! Irrespective of opinions, the governor was a peacemaker and he shall be blessed. |

LordIsaac: Yes, and if they break up, you people will turn around and call her a 'loose woman'. It is up to Pius to see if he can change. There are men who were wife beaters and who have changed. He does have 4 children with the lady. If he misses his chance, too bad. I just hope the woman leaves him then....... |

Six years! Wifey being beaten for past six years. Where was governor intervention 2 years ago? 3 years ago? Etc? And what about the numerous wives being beaten in state, on whose behalf Mr Gov did not intervene? And what happens when they go home and a few weeks later, Mr Husband starts all over again? Where does it go from that point? 1 Like |
