1.Some of them might have been studying in the night too as well. Not uncommon.

Actually the fact that the boys were kidnapped shows that the government has failed. APC and Buhari were voted to stop things like these from happening.

Fees in many government schools in the North are kept very low.(Private schools in the North can be as expensive as their southern counterparts)

Plus, if you are lucky as a Northerner to get into University, more often than not, you get paid a very generous scholarship. (the trick is to encourage more of their people to take education serious)..though you have to in some instances work for the state after graduating.
