The fulani rampage of domination, subjugation of others, bloodshed and deliberate economic instability will be the legacy of the present junta.

If you rule well, people will not be offered the dubious privilege of 'love him or hate him.'

There's no human being that is absolutely loved by everyone.
Fulani rampage and Fulani domination? This is so annoying, how can a minority group in Nigeria dominate you? Are you a bunch of babies?
You know what happened to people who cannot defend themselves, don't you?
It is your fault in this day and age if you allow yourselves under any circumstances to be decimated and dominated.
If in fact Fulanis are trying to run you over, it is your fault to stand by and let it happen.
As for the railways, Buhari will be remembered for doing his part.

Entitled to my opinion, I said my own.
God help Nigeria, especially those without daggers, AK47 and political dominance.

I was just showed the gargantuan edifice a recent past head of a government agency is putting up near my house. Building literally into the mountain. So big, it's pointless. The oga went to an agency that has operational status and allowances close to the oil and gas sector salary scale, demolished their allowances, and reverted them to basic civil service status. Operations were defunded, and he made hay even while the sun was not shining. One day, the labour union in his agency set ambush at the gate, and were going to beat him up if he dared to come to the office.
Another top civil service functionary of the professional cadre has reached retirement age and has refused to go. At present, the labour unions have started picketing his office, instructing the guys at the gate to turn his vehicle back, even locking his office. They have told him not to bother with handing over , oga just go.

See, by destroying institutions, this present junta have committed the greatest disservice to the nation. No matter how much you steal, the future generations will have to be creative, productive and profitable. Otherwise, they will not sustain the high levels of yesteryear.

Build institutions. Not fiefdoms.

Ameachi himself confirmed that the previous govt paid for this via Chinese loans. That they are still working on securing their own loans.

He has a rising profile in Africa, possibly only dwarfed by Obasanjo, Paul Kagame, Mo Ibrahim and a handful of others. The person whose errands you claim he is running doesn't have any remaining goodwill.

LET'S LEARN TO DO THE RIGHT THINGS IN ORDER TO SECURE A GOOD NAME.

strong institutions as simple as that...if we had these institutions tribalism, nepotism and co would have been degraded but nah....honestly when I think about our country's future it looks bleak...I just hope we wouldn't have to burn it all down b4 it can get beta....

COMPAQ:

The only reason why this money was not stolen is because it was aloan from China. And not the type of loan where they disburse cash, but the type of loan where the value is agreed and then the Chinese contractor does the work to specified standard.

That is the reason why the work was done quickly, so that China can start counting the loan very quickly. If it had been handled directly by the Ministry via contracting, it would never have seen the light of day.

Point I'm making is that it has less to do with Buhari or even Amsechi management skills and just the nature of the loan.

No, it has more to do with Buhari because he knows it will be looted if it goes through the regular Nigerian channels. He chose a route that will get it delivered quickly. Same approach with the airports, 2nd Niger bridge and other key infrastructure.

By the way, the railway revolution is just starting. Ibadan-Kano, PHC-Maiduguri, Lagos-Calabar coastal lines still to be delivered. They will be substantially built but maybe not fully completed before the administration wounds up. The next govt can take it from there.

From independence till date, when you add all infrastructure built by all successive governments it is far less than what Buhari has done. Even his enemies cannot deny his infrastructure transformation.

However, without security, all is vanity. Dead bodies will not ride in the trains nor drive on the roads.

I believe we will be spared another catastrophic event. However, a precedent has been set, and it's a very dangerous precedent.
Everyone can do what these present folks are doing, and indeed that is the case in small doses already.

Well-done!

We should also understand that good governance is what every citizen is entitled to...we should stop the notion that looks as if government is doing us any favour, but we shall realise that good governance is our right and that we put them in power through our "votes"

Invest in human capital first...education and healthcare.
Then invest in productive industries such as agriculture, refineries, and steel plants finally invest in rails.

Without the human capital who will maintain and use the railways....the unemployable youths that are now working as kidnappers, prostitutes, hoodlums, and militants.

Its just because the Chinese have just built it... give it a couple of years it will deteriorate due to lack of discipline in management/ maintenance. it will be good for first couple of years and then deteriorate....

The workers welfare should be taken serious; imagine a level 7 officer take home is not up to#45,000, government should create new salary structure inorder to encourage the staff to be productive, if not all these stuck will not last.

Can our people build train's?

Remember it took Chinese to build this, contrary to what people say that Nigeria is cursed, it's not, it's the people inside that are psychologically damaged.

You want high tech, learn to build yourselves it'll be cheaper.

The Chinese knew you people will share the money without delivering that's why the loan was in the form of infrastructure.

We don't need our airline....no big deal..when other airlines can fly to Nigeria and out.....70 percent of Nigerians may never see the reason to fly till they die..
What we need now is power...if the government can power the economically crucial states starting from Lagos and expand to other state...aswear..no body will doubt that Nigeria can't move forward..what we need now is power..
