How will we term this economic principle please?

You see something I've learnt about leadership is, your actions and inactions alone can change things, herdsmen, boko haram, bandits and kidnappers are ravaging the country today, causing untold hardship to farmers business men which in turn is causing rise of food and unemployment, why is it so? Buhari's inactions against to tackle this seriously, this is not a policy here or principle, he only needs to take action and the nation will prosper in that aspect, also sorrow and pain will be taken away from the people in that aspect, but he is not doing it, like I said earlier, Abacha is not saint, he's government was corrupt but I tell you if this present government can apply just those 2 things abacha did in his government it will solve a portion of Nigeria's problems economically...

Obasanjo is the only leader and elderstatesman Nigeria has, highly intelligentand strategic. Others are religious and ethnic bigots. Yaradua would have tolled baby's steps but sickness truncated his life. No wonder his tenure was so peaceful. Had he not changed them every two years, the level of corruption and complacency would have been so much .

Obasanjo could be accused of being a religious bigot too. No matter how you do it, there will always be something to accuse you of based on our biases.

The best thing is to ignore such things and hold the president accountable only on performance. After all, the president is not going to spend more than two terms there.

Buhari also worked with the service chiefs he inherited for like a m or two also before appointing his own chiefs, so in the Nigerian context it's a normal thing, you work with the people you feel most comfortable with especially when it comes to security
Jonathan worked with dambazzau for more than a year - a northerner don't you think that deserves mention

which federal character obj obeyed? He changed army chiefs four times without picking from his region.shame on him.A nationalist who could not do anything for his region in 8 years office.

People like you are one of the demons in Nigeria.

The ones that have picked from their region, how did it help them? A Yoruba man may become the president of Nigeria but your life would still be as pathetic as it is right now.

The difference in what happened then n now is SOCIAL MEDIA.
more nigerians can express themselves now thru media.
They were killings then, hardship too, we can say the global economy was stable and so to say it affected nigeerians to some extent. Otherwise there was chaos, disorganisation in the polity.

No, it wasn't just social media, things were not as bad as now, I watched the nation Nigeria get damaged through the years, I lived in a highly governmental environment, we had like all aspect of senior government officials living around us, from, Navy to airforce, army, nigeria airways, police, federal ministries staff, state ministry staff, the military governor of lagos, deputy military governor, even the vice to Abacha( Diya) lived a few streets away from us, my dad was also a senior government staff, I had friends from all this arms of government I just listed, my friends fathers held top positions in the then government, I saw first hand corruption as it was growing so it is not rocket science that poverty will also increase, look I saw things, though my dad was not corrupt and some others too were not, but there were some that were excellently corrupt and a few others who out of "let me not carry last syndrome" became extremely corrupt too, I saw corruption growing in my very eyes, and that was a military government that was small and looting was restricted to a few, you now compare that with a bogus democratic visionless wasteful government, you should imagine the level of poverty that would multiply over a period of 20 years....

Responding to your question.Geographically no,but ethnically yes as Buhari's mother is a Kanuri.

Obj changed his service chiefs every 2 years, he appointed both northerners and southerners as COAS, he never appointed any Muslim to the position.
Yaradua had only 2 COAS, all northerners, one Christian, the other one Muslim.
GEJ made his appointment of COAS from his constituency, south east and south south, all Christians.
Buhari also picked his COAS from his constituency, north west and north east
u forgot to add 'all muslims' for buhari

a fool will always be a fool. Who's life is pathetic? Children of nairaland. The only thing you know best is to abuse people with your stinky mouth. If another Yoruba man become president he should help our region to develop by given appointment and infrastructures. Do you think Hausa are stupid? Our own spent 8 years without any meaningful development to our side and you people are calling him nationalist. Buari as worst you people call him have meaningful achievement in the south west like rail from Lagos to Ibadan, Lagos Ibadan express road, apapa road, sagamu- ikorodu and so on. Better go and look for better doing instead following politicians up and down.

who are those people? because i recall is that Abacha's government is the best Nigeria has had till date, the economy was great, stable dollar rate, stable fuel rate, we did the best at international sporting events ,ptf built roads and schools all over the place, Nigeria was safe and orderly. i repeat abachas government is the best government Nigeria has had in my life time, let anybody come and debate it.

You probably have know idea of what you are trying to talk about or you are being delibrately mischievous.

Terrorism started during Abacha regime, they difference from what we have today is that it was government sponsored against her citizens to stop criticism of bad governance.
You mentioned stable naira, yes why will naira not be stable ? People were not ready to do business Nigeria and Nigerians. The man that frustrated Ajaokuta Iron and Steel Industry is Abacha. He said he had money to pay the staff of the company but was busy stealing the money. If we look and the money recovered from his loot it could has paid more than twice the amount required today. Can you imagine the multiplier effect of that firm.on Nigeria economy? Our current reliance on crude oil wouldn't have been this bad.
I did my service immediately he took over as an NYSC , this man stopped employment into all government agencies but was recruiting his Fulani people underground.
This man killed Ken Sarowiwa and his colleagues despite international intervention. That is what eventually lead to miliatant attacks in Niger Delta untill FGN was forced to negotiate. Do you have an idea of the cost of that venture alone caused by a military man indiscretion?

Thats not an achievement
From your logic, any president that decides to be changing them every year or every six months would have performed better than OBJ.

The main thing should be their performance.
You are not supposed to change somebody like ihejirika that was performing well

a very big lie, Abacha's government was economically better than all the governments in Nigeria since 1999, he was a thief yes but looting was restricted to only a few of his clicks, unlike what we have today, he was a tyrant yes, but he only terrorised politician and big men who stepped on his toes, he had no business with the masses, lastly it was a heavily militarized government which had soldiers everywhere doing the work of police too, but economically Nigeria was better...

People like you trying to rewrite history should know there are consequences for calling evil good.
A considerable part of the crisis we are facing today had it foundation with Abacha. Through his policies, various countries slammed sanction on Nigeria, companies folded up or relocated, government stopped employment but was hiring based on favouritism, etc

Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika in his parlour sitting and watching them , he will be like hahahahahahahahahahahhaha...
Actually he is the worst. His actions swelled the ranks of Boko Haram and we have not recovered till date.
During his time, if there is an attack on the military anywhere, the military will go there and gun down every young male in that area from door to door. Those who survived would run to join boko Haram to avenge their brothers. I was in the region at that time so I know.

I am not calling evil good, neither am I justifying Abacha's government, all you said is true but I can tell you that the corruption in abacha's government is child's play compared to what started in 1999 and has continued to increase, leave all those sanctions and those things the west was doing, internal economy was stronger, ask yourself how much was a dollar to naira even with all the sanctions and now that there are no sanctions...

OBJ appointed 4 All Christians
Jonathan Appointed 2 All Christians
Yar'adua Appointed 2... 1 Christian and 1 Muslim
Buhari Appointed 2... All Muslims

In summary... Christians 7 Muslims 3
