According to a facebook post by a page called Rivers Eye, women in Japan celebrate penis festival. It is a party through which women pay tributes to the penis for its role in the well-being and enjoyment of humans. The have been celebrating it since 1977.
The festival is called Kanamara Matsuri. It is held each spring at the Kanayama shrine in Kawasaki Japan. However, the exact dates of this festival varies, the main festival fall on the first Sunday in April.
The Kanayama Shrine was popular among prostitutes who wished to pray for protection from sexually transmitted infections.

It is also said the shrine offers protection for easy delivery, marriage, and married-couple harmony.
