The country where na primary school certificate holders be police. What do you expect.

More importantly, we don’t keep records. If we kept records, employers would have access to a job applicants’ work, medical, criminal and educational history. Without records, an employer wouldn’t know if they are employing a psychopath or not.

Nigeria is easy to get right. Nigeria doesn’t work properly because Nigerians haven’t worked at Nation building. We need to get the basic things sorted out, things like the justice system of which policing is part, civil service, record keeping, border control, Citizen Identity, immigration etc

Nigeria ought to have fallen apart a long time ago but Nigeria hasn’t because Nigerians are fundamentally good and tolerant people. The Nigeria state simply relied on Nigerians general good upbringing. However as Nigeria has modernised, and the ethnic cultural upbringing of individuals has broken down, as in rest of the world, the state has not reflected this by introducing the prerequisite checks and sanctions. Chinua Acheba wrote, ''as men have learned to shoot without missing, so the birds have learnt to fly without perching''. Translated for our purpose, ''as the Security officers have learned to take form the bank safe, Nigeria has not learned to keep money in a metal door vault installed with CCTV and hidden hyenas''.

With the Nigerian police, othing is surprising anymore. When you give guns to untrained lunatics. This is EXACTLY what happens.

That dead police officer watched too much of American movies while alive. Collecting bullet meant for a Nigerian politician is the most foolish thing to do cos you are dying for nothing, you had the mind to put your family through agony cos of a Nigerian politician?
he's an orderly what do you expect?
He's going his job, and his job is to protect the man whichever way.
If the man was shot dead , you think the orderly won't be court-martialed

Terrible. The police man took the bullet for his boss

No! The police man shot another policeman. The dead policeman’s boss changed the storyline to make it acceptable to the public. Always reason out of the box

What was he thinking....that after taking the bullet for a politician he will wake up and receive award?.....see Wetin Chuck Norris cause.

Those securities and orderly you see with the governor and other polithievcians serve as buffers for this guys! So he was only doing his job . That is the ultimate price you can pay and dangers of VIP work!

This commissioner has seen it first hand and in honour of his orderly he should go public campaigning against police brutality.
The oil company too should of necessity make public statement distancing their organization from such act and categorically stating code of conduct for their armed personnel.

I see policemen being banned from carrying guns, I see their guns being collected and replaced with battons, I see vengeful youths attacking them daily on the streets, I see policemen being scared of wearing their uniforms on the streets for fear of being attacked by youths. This I have seen.

Your Handle says it all grin

That is the training anywhere in the world...Nothing must happen to ur boss as a security personnel.. In a place like military, one can get court Marshalled if anything happens to the officer in charge who is the boss.

The security personnel in Nigeria.

Nothing to write home about.

Your vehicle hit somebody's vehicle, no sorry, no apologies, the next thing you want to kill him. The man even had an orderly, and you wanted to kill him. Imagine the temerity.

Seplat entered his head. Like, do you know who I am ? A bodyguard in Seplat. Enjoy your prison.

I have no sympathy for Nigerian force men.

When police break d law, it's always difficult to get a statement from their public relations officer

As much as there is insecurity in the country, please lets say a big no to easy gun use and ownership.
Not everybody in this part of the world is sane. I repeat, there are mad people here. You can show someone the middle finger and the person brings a gun to square it out with you.

If u as a citizen says "a big no to easy gun use and ownership" and d govt thru it's police force doesn't see need to block d supply of guns to and retrieve guns from kidnappers, bandits, fulani herdsmen, armed robbers, assassins, cult boys and d likes, what effect will your big no have?
