baralatie:hmmmm, you can be in charge being single, but marriage is a different thing, everything each of them has, belongs to them, your money is hers and her money is his. |

LeoThaGreat: I would have signed a pre nup if my husband had asked if was to protect assets but to state things like if no children are born in such n such period of time etc i couldnt sign. Thats the sorta thing u take as it comes. Like say after two years or more of marraige if we hadnt gotten pregnant then he feels he wants the opportunity to persue kids with another woman n didnt wanna wait around n take a chance id give them to him then itd be easier to discuss it n work it out n divorce or whatever wen the time comes than to live those couple of years under stress n pressure of wat is expected of u. These things arent meant to be on a timetable. U take life together as it comes. As for mental health lije ur saying well i think thats another thing u take as it comes. First of all u should get to know the person ur marrying n if u do marry n the person changes with time n ur not happy and u cant work it out then is easy to divorce. But overall i think its upto the individual person wat they want n if theyre willing to accept a contractual type marraige with listed expectations n timelines/deadlines/rules etc. For me its unromantic. The sort of things listed on the prenup here is the kinda things u discuss through out ur dating period before u marry so u know wat each other wants for their future n themselves n each other n their marraige etc n if u find that things wont be as u want with that person or that u cant resolve n compromise these kinda things then u shouldnt marry in the first place. I married for love n everything else comes after that for me. Cos wen u love someone u compromise and u want to make them happy if they make u happy too. I just don't think a legal list of demands and deadlines n timelines is wat a marraige should be. 2 Likes |

baralatie:Just understand what am saying, the Bible says two shall become one, means that anything you have belongs to your partner and anything she has belongs to you, so if a married woman/ man goes against this instruction, they are not obeying the scriptures, the Bible must not mention accounts for you to believe. |

baralatie:1. For every woman he looks at, or has an affair with. He must buy property worth x million naira or the equivalent purchasing power of that timeframe of my choosing. 2. For every child, he will carry the pregnancy for 3 months while she will carry for six months. Of he cannot, then she will terminate the child or he settles it. 4. If he fathers a child outside the marriage, she will sue for divorce forthwith and collect 70% of his networth as alimony If he wants to be ridiculous, so can she 1 Like |

That is complete and utter claptrap. When the relationship starts like this it is not going to go well. Already, she is being asked to contribute money to a house built by the husband to be's father. In the same breath, telling her that her family, her problem. She is better off walking away because when the proverbial poodoo hits the ceiling, she will end up high and dry. |

mechanics:In truth, the Bible said "the two shall become one", but in our current reality, the two are separate entities pretending to be one. Husbands feel it's their right to selfishly fulfill their sexual desires outside their marriage. Wives feel it's their right to spend their money at their discretion with no input from the husband whatsoever, but she has a major stake in the husband's finances in the name of "maintaining the home." The husband will refer to their house as "my house," the wife will refer to utensils she bought as hers as well, not theirs. Our current realities aren't according to biblical suggestions at all. LeoThaGreat:Word! As a man with a deep knowledge of financial education and several investment variables, I'm in full support of a prenuptial agreement for any business-savvy man (or woman). Pre nups are part of financial planning. "It is an agreement made by a couple before they get married in which they say how their money and property is to be divided if they get divorced." This will protect a lot of us men who are financialy wealthy from those females that behave like the small but deadly South American "Piranha fish." It is just like hedging your assets againt loses with insurance policies. Any woman who doesn't agree to these terms after gentle persuation should be ditched by any man. No sentiments! 1 Like 1 Share |
