Ilorin, the Capital city of Kwara State is 90% muslim dominated city.
The lands occupy by these mission schools are alloted to them by the Ilorin Descendants
So, if a visitor can't do anyhow in the host's enclave, then, the land have to revoked by the original owners, since they're not ready to subscribe to their host wants.
hijab is humanity's modesty, humanity in the sense that it is stated in Christians bibles
1 Corinthian 11 13-16.
Any contrary opinions will automatically proof the divisive assertions in biblical verses like
Mathew 10:34 which says
"do not think I have come to preach peace, I have not come to preach peace but SWORD"
and 1 Samuel 15: 3
"go to the Amalekite, kill the infants, men and women, do not spare the donkeys and cattle"
why Mary, mother of Jesus was always in her hijab?
Stop spamming the whole thread with your gibberish. you foolish, myopic religious fanatic. y'all Muslims are big clowns!!!!

Well my own take is what's so special about the hijab?

The christian Roman Catholic Reverend Sisters as all know and always seen at all times are always adorning their head with a veil (that's equivalent of Hijab) all the time,so what's the fuse about the Muslims following their religious teachings by always covering their head. I believe that every open minded individual knows there are several bible verses that talk about covering of hair for the women.

I bet you didn't understand what you read!

Nobody is against Muslim girls wearing hijab. But what they're against is them wearing the hijabs in environments they're not accepted.

If women must cover their head in a school environment, which is secular, the Beret is there for them to use.

the thing isn't even really about conceding to the wearing of hijab; give the Muslims a yard, tomorrow they will request a mile. Allow them their hijab today, tomorrow they will probably request that classes mustn't hold on Fridays but must hold on Sundays. They are very mischievous folks. QED.

Muslims are just intolerant and just being troublesome. You can't make decision on dressing in a mission school just to suit you and your religion. I served in the north and the school is not a Muslim school from the name it bears. All the girls there wear hijab even the Christian's and no one raised a thing because it is in the north. Why can't you obey laid down rules and if you are not okay with the school rules just take ur kid to another school.

1. Hijab is not like other religious attire, Muslim wear that everywhere but you people wear your religion dressing to religion domain.

2. Hijab is compulsory on a Muslim lady just like a cloth is compulsory on a sane human, saying "there are Muslims that wear hijab but do ....." Is not a justification for anything. People have been using things the wrong way from time immemorial. Should we scrap off pastors or Catholic priest because some have misused there office?

3.please and please, no Christian should ever talk about tolerance when a Muslim says No on a particular issue relating to his religion. Nothing in the Bible says "hate hijab" but y'all are against it, so when a Muslims says "I can't greet you for Christmas" because giving birth to God is against my religion why do you people say he/she is intolerant?

4. Christians should take back their schools but in as much as it's Government funded school, hijab should be allowed else all Christian in Muslim named school should also be forced to wear hijab.

Even in European countries, students wear hijab to schools.

I won't reply emotional bashing but logical reasonings. Thanks.

The hijab is not enforced on women even In the Quoran.

We all know that hijab is an Islamic symbol. If Muslims would wear hijab to school, then, let the traditionalists, Cherubim and Seraphim, etc also be allowed to wear their attires.

The school is a secular and not a religious place. If women must cover their heads in such a secular environment, let them wear the Beret.

this is clear case of theft, taking what does not belong to you with the use of law, knowing fully well our CJN is a Muslim and will also do your biddings, and some Islamic cleric are even pushing for a change of the names of those schools , yet Islam is peace! which peace? a religion that choose to steal people's heritage, a religion that can't stand others prosper than it.from time ISLAMBAD no b today

There are 3 angles to this.

1. As a Missionary school, any Muslim who wishes to apply should abide by it's Christian rules.

2. As Christians the Missionary school should accommodate religious differences since Christianity preaches love.

3. Islam is violent, while Christianity isn't. If you consider the violence that could ensue, you would rather choose peace. Jesus didn't even permit Peter to defend him even when his disciples wanted to.

am not saying they should not be peaceful, but the Galatians spoken about in the Bible is the present day Turkey no body wants to go into extinction for another, what is the population of the Christians in the state that they can't still tolerate, the missionaries school helped in educating most of the Muslim elite in the state and the best way to pay back is with this show of shame .

I ain't the one who posted that comment.

Btw, I support his notion. Not like it will necessarily make the place look disorganized but also the fact that the uniform makes every child equal to another. What about children who don't have enough clothes and can't afford more than few? Would they keep wearing the same wear everyday while their counterparts put on different clothes everyday? Let alone rich kids with several fashion designer clothes. This is bound to intimidate other children who are not as rich.

And yes, the place did look disorganized however the classroom looks beautiful, has enough space in it and the dresses put on by these kids look good hence why all seemingly look okay.

From my personal experience:

I attended high school in ogun state, the school uniform is very simple and straight forward no hijab, but beret, Catholic rosery if found on your neck will be destroyed, black belt or sandal will be seized only brown allowed

There's another school across the town know as Ahmadiyya high school ( those from Ago Iwoye or schooled in Olabisi Onabanjo University) ogun state will know, has hijab as there school uniform and all their girls wear trousers, no skirt - that's the uniform, even though the school is fully state funded and has more Christian students

Muslim started there issue and start forcefully make their girls wear hijab in my school, even though the school authority said splitting of uniform may lead to security issues as attacks can easily be targeted at Muslim or non Muslim because they are easy to identify but those Muslim will have none of that

Back to amadiyya school that have default hijab as its uniform this exact same people trying to force hijab on previously Christian School violently reject hijab to be removed as uniform for non Muslim in Ahmadiyya school

Islam is a religion that can't survive competition or neutrality, they force on others what they can't accept

Will hisbah in Kano only destroy beer belonging to Muslim sellers? The answer is no

They will force their Sharia on all religion including the traditional religion who sometimes need alcohol to complete their religious rite or procession

Back to my school, my school was finally arm twist to allow hijab but you will think that's the end of the matter but trust Muslim to always want more

The hijab was agreed to be initially short and should not cover beyond the Brest, but some alfas start wearing hijab that is almost reaching toes, far below the knees for their children, another issue start, how long of hijab is too long

another big and serious fight start on that before I graduated

I know very soon after hijab as been finally approved, the next fight will be fight if pudah

Some core Christians female do not wear trousers, but NYSC uniform is trousers, if it's Muslim that don't wear trousers they will have been burning down NYSC orientation camp in North and attack any corper wearing such, such is the troublesome nature of some Muslims

What Reno need to understand is that Hijab is a way of life and part of every muslimah, and saying that everyone one should wear what they like is just like saying, they should wear their Sunday dress to schools too, not like the Hijab that is wear everyday, and wearing Hijab won't make the Christian less Christian, cuz i went to a sch where Muslim wears their Hijab and Christians wear their beret, and their is never a fight but coexistence. What i see hear is the fear of unknown instill in the founder of this Christian school, they just need to learn what really being a Muslim is.

I'll really appreciate Muslims to quote me and explain what I've said above

I'm a Muslim and well learned in Arabic and Islamic studies. I have to admit the bitter truth you just dished out because I was once a victim. Back then in Osun state, I was the Head of my Uncle's school. I noticed this anomaly and quickly swung into action. Funny enough, I called a PTA meeting, had a long discussion with the parents to that effect. And we all agreed that the length of the Hijab should be reduced to the neck level.

It was the parents who were absent that resisted, they insisted that the Hijab must extend to the abdominal region as that would properly cover their children. Long story cut short, I stood my ground and insisted that the resolution reached at the meeting is final. Before I could say jack, trouble started in the community. I was declared a persona non-grata because of this issue. It took the intervention of one Sheikh before I could be reintegrated back into the community. Although my Uncle backed me initially, but when he started losing pupils to other schools, he back tracked. Las las, I conceded and the status quo was restored.

In conclusion, Muslims who ain't well learned can be very difficult to deal with because of that bias & sentiment that they have for other religions. With time, I believe the situation will improve as more liberal Muslims will outnumber the uneducated, half-educated or religiously biased ones.

Meanwhile, this whole discussion of religious intolerance isn't applicable to Muslims alone. I have seen and met countless Christians who don't employ Muslims into their organization. According to them, the Bible says; 'Two cannot walk together unless they agree'. I have worked with countless people from whom I had to hide my religion because obviously I wouldn't have been given the job. It's a very pathetic issue. So, it's not only a Muslim thing. A good number of Christians too have that bias and hatred towards Muslims. Albert Camus once said 'If your religion requires you to hate another person, then, you need a new religion'. A parent even threatened to withdraw her children from my daughter's class because she found out that my daughter is a Muslim. She said her children shouldn't have anything to do with a Muslim. Just imagine!

PS- I had my Elementary education in an Anglican school. Also, my Dad who though is a Sheikh believes so much in religious tolerance.

The christian Roman Catholic Reverend Sisters as all know and always seen at all times are always adorning their head with a veil (that's equivalent of Hijab) all the time,so what's the fuse about the Muslims following their religious teachings by always covering their head.
