Lágbájá, Hijab controversy and how Environment Influences Muslim by Lukgaf(m): 12:27pm On Mar 25, 2021 |
"Lágbájá, a man, covers his face in a way we could like to our own niqab and no one finds anything wrong with that. Millions listen to his songs without seeing or knowing who is behind the mask, for years, and it's cool. Oh, it's his style. " I was having a conversation today with my Layla and at a point she asked "anything for me?" and what came to mind subconsciously, in a snap was: Lágbájá nothing for you. Apart from Lagbaja, have you ever heard of any nun/reverend sister being treated the way our Hijab sisters have been treated? The bigotry is real. And the Yorubas have been lenient for too long. This can never happen in the core north. Some of them would take Phensic for another person's headache. Someone is donning the Hijab and you are the one complaining. Bishop Oyedepo said "“It is such a nasty development in Kwara State where Muslims are asking their students in our schools to wear hijab, and the church said 'no'. You know the reason why, we have never showed the world the other side of God. God is not a toy; let us show them the consuming fire part of God. They need to know. ”Leave the schools for the owner, go to your schools. Is there any fight? Stop putting fingers in the eyes of others, the world should be warned against the church. The church is a time bomb. ”When God turns his back on anyone or any system, that system is cursed. My advice is; leave the schools for the owners, find your schools. Men and women can wear hijab there. Stop putting your fingers in the eyes of others when they are not blind.” If his God get consuming fire, why hasn't Boko Haram, bandits, etc been burnt since? Why did Coronavirus have to enter Nigeria? Their God is waiting for the Hijab Saga to unleash his consuming fire.... 60 Likes 5 Shares |

for me, Wearing of Hijab as a Muslim is a welcome decision, the school is a missionary school meaning Christian school Its either we comply or withdraw our students from those schools Muslims should encourage love and peace even to others. do we even allow them in our Muslim school? they can't sell liquor in Kano because they have to abide by our rules Ilorin has been peaceful, don't let religious ego destroy this peace 234 Likes 10 Shares |

AntiChristian: Lagbaja, nun, even masquerade knw their limits, they don't force their own style in the throats of others , that's just the different. The day Islam will start truly preaching peace and let sleeping dog lies just like other religions is the day others will stop attacking her. NB. Personally, I'm not against wearing of hijab o. In fact I admonished my wife who is from Muslim family to be wearing it. 84 Likes 2 Shares |

Firstly, for me, I have no problem with the hijab. But you guys seem to to getting this whole thing twisted. The controversy comes from where it is worn, a school has a uniform students adhere to. you know the uniform, and you decide to add something to it. If other parents bring in their religious things into the school, what would happen? There is a uniform, please teach your wards to adhere to the uniform, when they get home, they can put on whatever they want to add. It's that simple. There is a uniform that should be adhered to, i say again, there is a uniform that should be adhered to, know this and know peace. Your wards can tie their hair with something else, as i think the hair is the main covering for ladies. The school is not an Islamic school, and there is a uniform to be adhered to, please adhere to the uniform and change when you get home, simple. 140 Likes 4 Shares |

I wonder why I have to answer question to comment on a Muslim post on this platform, well my point is I raised as a Christian and have experimented Islam and realised we have all been fooled,do you know that Jerusalem have a big mosque called al Aqsa mosque, and in UAE you will find big church and Hindu temple as well but a Yoruba man is busy fighting his brother because of religion, Isese lagba, isese is in peace with any other religion,I have never seen ifa priest preaching negativity of any other religion. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

The dumb oath on this page is actually giving this people liver to say nonsense without fear of been challenge Back to the conversation, the meaning of lagbaja means anonymous He covers his face to remain anonymous and people not to identify him, hence he can call power that be to order, when you see Davido, Wizkid etc you recognise them on the street, how many people recognise lagbaja facially, I'm sure even the mumu OP cant Also his parents doesn't initially approve his music, hence he cover to perform In IT world, hackers cover their face for anonymousity, even Fulani bandits covers face Masquerade and eyo do cover their faces, I guess they do that to follow your religion Stop been dumb and misleading the public because of your stupid oath 67 Likes 2 Shares |

so you had to single lagbaja out to make your claims. why not add Davido ,Wizkid,Burna that has Tattoos. So that all the kids can all have Tattoos. Why cant Muslims Build their own school for their followers must they go to Christians Schools. More over Western education is a Sin according to your Prohet Mhd. 50 Likes 3 Shares |

The problem with you guys is that you try to alleviate your religious inferiority by oppressing others when you have a little advantage. You call in religion even in secular issues just because of the little power you have. The clothing in a school is called a "uniform" because it is supposed to be UNIFORM. ALL the children are supposed to dress THE SAME. And not the other way round. If you want to practice your religion, you go to your mosque or you go to your islammiya and do that. But in a school, there is supposed to be uniformity. Stop 'TRYING' to prove a "superiority" by oppressing others. Live like the Christians. They let their love and peace speak for them. 27 Likes |

This is such an incoherent mumbo-jumbo post. Lagbaja is an artist and he adorn his signature mask to his shows, videos and all that. Does Lagbaja wears mask to church, on flights, to hospital, to schools? In the bid to sound smart, the author of this turned out stupid. Lagbaja reason for choosing the mask was because his parents were Deacons in the church. He felt with the type of music he started with, it would rubbish the religious status of his parents as the father wasn't even initially in support of his career path. He hid his identity for that so that his choice wouldn't be linked to his parents & gave himself Lagbaja to connote "somebody". This has no correlation with hijab. Can't you guys think ffs? I know Bisade Ologunde's (Lagbaja) story like the palm of my hand & I have seen his face before because we hail from the same Yoruba town of Ijagbo in Kwara State. Think of something more logical for allusion purpose. Not this slow angle. 52 Likes 5 Shares |

The difference between Lagbaja and hijab is nobody is forcing Yoruba men to dress like Lagbaja under threats of violence. If somebody came to a school dressed like him they would obviously send such a person away. It's like the OP doesn't understand nuance. 22 Likes |
