It's actually so unfair...

Most fathers actually put in more for their children than mothers.

I don't think we can compare father's efforts to mother's efforts. It's just different
Re: Why Are Mothers So Loved By Their Children Than Their Fathers? by Origin(f): 10:24am On Jun 05
Pre programmed into genes.

Love and care of mother's which is not all about money...

The listening ear....

The extra mile...

The truth though is that when the father has all this traits , the love of the children will be for their father..

But it's rare!
Re: Why Are Mothers So Loved By Their Children Than Their Fathers? by Nauttyprof(m): 10:24am On Jun 05
There are fathers that are more caring than the mothers but most times, children love their mothers more due to the fact that the mothers conspire with the children in many cases against their fathers. The love and bond grows based on this.

There are several instances to back this up but let's look at when the father says the child mustn't go out for now. The mother will meet the child and say go out but return by this time before your Dad comes.

Also, in case where the child ask for N5000 for personal needs, the father out of overcoming several hurdles was able to raise N4,500 to support the child and then, pleads with the child to manage it. The mother will go behind him and give the child the N500 balance with the word - don't mind your Dad, he has the money but doesn't want to give you. The child will not consider the father who suffered to raise N4,500 but appreciate and cherish the mother who came up with the balance of N500.

The conspiracy of the mothers with their children against their fathers make the love and bond stronger.

I was already a grown up before I discovered that all the school fees my mother was coming to pay for me in primary school was actually my father's money

I would do something wrong, my mother would snitch by telling my dad, when my dad is flogging me, my mother would come and save me

so I saw my mother as a savior while my dad as a tormentor, besides, I see my mother every hour of the day, see my dad in the night, only on Sundays I see him well

1. Communication, listen to them. Not one way communication.
2. Time.

*Communication is the most important factor especially when children outgrow the adorable pre-teen stage and start forging their own paths in life, most often get more assertive and stubborn as they start discovering real life outside of their parents protective shield. Mothers tend to listen more, even the initially strict and harsh ones.
Re: Why Are Mothers So Loved By Their Children Than Their Fathers? by doneback04: 10:28am On Jun 05
Because their mom is the closest friend they have within all the time.

By the way, thanks to the OP. This is a great topic that addresses one of the foundational issues with most of our people.

Lots of our problems as a nation start from the family unit, and that's where the practical application of the great values of life are supposed to be properly acquired and honed.
Re: Why Are Mothers So Loved By Their Children Than Their Fathers? by wallrichy: 10:37am On Jun 05
That's just a natural instinct to love your mum more than your father. However, it does changes if the mother lacks good maternal care for the child as the child grows. It's so unbelievable the way some children display hatred for their Mothers.

Fatherhood is a very complicated role and should not be misconstrued with the believe that as a father you ought to be loved and rewarded by the children for the care and love and investment you put in raising them to be good adult.

Fatherhood is a way of life for us men. We live to provide, guide and love the family without expecting anything in returns. We do these happily and voluntary and if we find ourselves in a position that prevents us from fulfilling these attributes, we simply die or remain broken. We are beast of burden that carries the whole load but hardly appreciated and even when appreciated, it can't ever quantify the pain, the struggles and the disappointments we meet everyday during the course of getting things done appropriately. We love to be the family beast as long as we are providing and training the kids in the best possible way we can afford. We men are great and always expecting the best from the children without demanding anything in returns. We are also endangered species because the labour of our love and aspirations often let's us down through the many immorality and deceits of our women. We are real men and proud fathers also....However, No food or accolades to all lazy fathers, weak fathers and opportunistic fathers.

My own case is different, I loved my father more than my mum and my own daughter loves me more than my wife too right now. My wife confirms that too. If my daughter wakes up in my wife's room she will stand up and come to my room, I must bath her every morning and drive her to school and from there go to the office. So, not in all cases the children love their mum more.

I think it happened in ur own house, blame ur dad for his uncaring attitude and not every Father

who knows maybe ur waywardness and nonsensical attitude being displayed on nairaland are attributed to the way you ignored ur dad chastism and ur mum embraced you thinking she was showing motherly love

God bless you may u never stumble or fall

It's simply the law of nature. Have you ever wondered why everything is referred to as she? Even the earth you exist in is called mother earth. That is the power to bring to LIFE. Women are very DEEP. If only the can understand how DEEP!!

People are drawn to people that show them love more than those that provide their needs. Some things go beyond provision of food and money.

Mothers talk evil of fathers more to children than fathers, mothers constantly magnify little effort they made to children with fathers saying nothing. Mothers convert the money provided by Fathers for children school fees, feeding etc as their personal effort while father is away hustling to bring food. In summary they have no fear of God.

Are they?

It's not the case in my family. Everyone is loved and appreciated for the part they played in raising the family and keeping it together. I don't know what my father and grandfather did better than other fathers and grandfathers but we love our parents and grandparents all the same.
The post meant "children" not adults, you are certainly not a kid any longer lol.

@OP it's simple, children spend more time with their mother from being a foetus (listening and hearing her familiar voice everytime) to 3years or more.
Children will be closely bonded to the person who spends most of their time around them, whether teacher, aunty, uncle or who ever.

My 2 months old baby will hardly or never smile around me but the mom everyday keeps sending me WhatsApp pics of her smiling on every camera shot.

I personally think this might be a natural instinct... It's not just in humans, in every Animal babies tend to stay closer to their mothers.

It was initially because of breastfeeding... And feeding.. Protection. Nature wired our brain to stay closer to our mothers to get all the nutrients and care we need as mammal.

But we are evolving... fathers are finally catching up and breaking the instinct.

Thank you for starting this thread! Last year december, my neighbour was having an altercaration with his wife, and we later found out that he spend millions to send his first daughter abroad 7 years back and funny enough the same daughter sent money and ask the receiver to give her mother 1.5 million naira and father 50k only and funny enough the mom is a stay at home mom and the father work very hard to take care of 6 children and take care of all the bills. I swear to God this is really not fair on the part of we men! The man in question is an nnpc staff and will retire next year, if am to be in his situation, i will kick everybody out and live alone including my wife

When I was growing up, my dad was so strict and I'm his first son. He beats me up in any little thing I do. Everyone recognized me as a good footballer and I'm also intelligent naturally but I love football more than any other thing. I don't like to read. My dad many times banned me from playing football. He said I must go to school( higher institution). His strictness made me grow in fear and I'm always afraid to tell him what bothers me because he must scold me. During my second year in school I found out that school wasn't my calling. My destiny I based on football or business. I told my mum that I'm tired of school and she told my dad. My dad instead of calling me to find out why, he warned me never to say it again and I must graduate with good grades. In 2014 I told my dad to help me with money to open a bet9ja shop because there wasn't any in my town. He said I will use his money to play pool. I tried to explain but he didn't give me ears. To cut the story short I didn't fulfill my football dream and I ended up not graduating on time and started working for someone in bet9ja. Lately my mum got a loan for me to start up a bet shop which my dad never did. He keeps blaming me. WHY WON'T I LOVE MAMA MORE. If I want to send money home, I send to mum and tell her what to give to Dad

Everybody with their own cup of tea o. As for me, I love my Dad as equivalent as I love my Mom. Both have really play their own part in my life very well. And I pray to God to grant them long life so that they can enjoy the fruits of their labour.

For the over years now, despite all efforts put by fathers to train up their children, by attending to all their basic needs as fathers, after becoming successful in adulthood, children always tend to do great things for their mothers than that of their fathers. Even me is a victim as well, I want do great things for my mum but I remember my dad did all he could for me, make sure that I don't become a miscreant in the society by making sure I was discipline enough but still yet I love my mum more than him.
Why is it like that? Or is it written in the Bible to favour your mother than your father when you are fully mature?

Pls push to front page, let's know our mistakes as fathers in our children's life

Financially speaking fathers carry more load but mothers tend to be more available and in charge of food department.

That food is where they exert their control and they often go out of their way to ensure you eat most times.
