Because their father thinks their only duty is to work hard and provide for the family and not to spend time playing with their kids.

This is a typical example of what men go through in life.
Out of practical love for you, you dad insisted that you not only finish your university but also to finish with good grades, do you know why? Because he knows that there are hardly jobs around, and since he believes you are intelligent, he wants you to seat your arse out and bring out those potentials in you.
Rather than become that graduate that will be a role model to your younger ones, you have instead become a worker in a betting shop, which means you are also probably a gambler also, of course with the support of your mom. You see those players playing in the Nigerian leagues, many of them also thought they will be the next Ronaldo or Messi, but the chances are very low. Out of 20k young footballers, only about 100 eventually make it to the big stage, that was what the love of your father was guiding against.
Also right now, the man is alive to pay your fees maybe because he has not retired. What of if something happens to his source of income and he is no longer able to pay your fees, just you would have lost an opportunity? Then you will become bitter against everybody.

Just so you know, there is one Nigerian footballer that is a graduate, he recently got a job as a sporting director in Switzerland or so. If your destiny was really about football, nothing would have stopped you, you know how many of us when very young thought we were good footballers?
I do not want to speak ill of your mom, but she should have stood by your dad and since she has a lot of influence on you, where your dad was forceful, she should have been more persuasive.

Bro, I want to tell you something, why Africa is going back is because everyone wants his child to be lawyer, doctor , engineer. As a father, train your child towards his passion. Everyone must not be a lawyer or engineer. What if my dad sent me to a football academy and allow me and my destiny to decide my fate. I'm happy now because he realised it lately that he should have supported me. I own 3 shops now and doing well and I'm planning to go into sports fully, maybe become a football analyst.
You can't cheat destiny.

when they grow up, they usually get to understand the sacrifices of some good fathers...but most times, it might be late

I am not sure how you misconstrued what I wrote. Or why you are sorry.

My children know my sacrifices for them. They know they will not be where they are today without me. They also know that I will cherish a simple plaque showcasing their appreciation to me more than any money, when that time comes.

You can't put a price tag on the sacrifices real men make for their children to become good global citizens.

If my father was alive today, it will be the same way. It'll be much easier to give my mother money than to my father, even though I cherished him more. It'll be an insult to him, since he was already comfortable.

Again, men should not put themselves in a position where they will incessantly require money from their children for survival. It is just not natural. With women, it comes natural.

*GIVE YOUR KIDS THIS PIECE TO READ.*

It takes a LIFETIME to realize that once DAD WAS THE BEST

*WHEN I WAS 4 years old, I knew my dad to be THE BEST*...

WHEN I WAS 6, I also knew Dad to have known it all...

*WHEN I WAS* 10 years of age, I knew Dad to be good.

*WHEN I WAS* 12 years I began to think that Dad wasn't as good as he was when I was a little boy...

*WHEN I WAS* 12 years old, I began discovering him to be more temperamental and strict as never before....

*WHEN I WAS* 16, I was convinced that he was an old school, and was not up to standard - to the current times we live in....

WHEN I turned 18, I thought Dad was very intolerant and hard to communicate with & also difficult to get along with...

*WHEN I* turned 20, I realized that he wasn't an easy person, and began wondering how Mom was able to put up with him in all the years of marriage...

*WHEN I* turned 25, it seemed like he had many objections to everything that I did....

*WHEN I* turned 30, I was convinced that we were not on the same page, and that nothing would ever please him...

*WHEN I* turned 40, I then only began to realize how good my upbringing was, and that I should also raise my kids up in the same way...

WHEN I was 45, I started wondering how did Dad ever put up with all the challenges he faced with us whilst we were growing up ...

WHEN I became 50, I realized how difficult it was for Dad to have educated us and trying to instill good manners
in us, thus I began wondering how he managed to tolerate our excesses

WHEN I was 55 years of age, I only then started realizing the wisdom & foresight my Dad had of life in getting us to where we are today...

When I turned 60, ONLY then did I eventually realize that *MY DAD WAS THE BEST*

*******
It takes a lifetime to realize the true status of our parents. It takes us a lifecycle to really appreciate our parents.

The difference being, as teens growing up, we selfishly view life within the confines of our own interests, whilst our parents view life selflessly, sacrificing everything for us.

Sadly, we sometimes fail to understand that our parents are always our well wishers.

At 40 only, do we then start to realize that what we believed when we were 4 to be true...

Some are yet fortunate to have realized their parents true value whilst their parents were living, whilst others have unfortunately realized when it was too late - their parents have departed from this world; It's a painful guilt to live with.

Are you really up to 60yrs?
Are those truly your own experience?

I want to know before I share it...

If your father receives #30M, he will be chasing another woman whereas your mother won't.

Stupid stupider stupidest comment.
More likely single mom raised broken vessel.
Men go out to work to provide for their wives to feed the children, comes back exhausted with little energy left to attend to his wife and preserve the marriage. Mothers are supposed to raise the for the family and not turn them against their father as many mothers do today.
Re: Why Are Mothers So Loved By Their Children Than Their Fathers? by zomby(m): 8:19pm On Jun 05
Very simple answer:

The bond that is established during the 9 months our mothers spent to carry us is unmatchable.
This is why it is a natural thing for kids to automatically favor their moms much more than their dads.
Some kids are able to balance the love between their parents, but 90% of the time the moms get the most love.

And dads should completely understand and maintain their position…It is not a big deal.

Because you ask me, I will tell my little story.
When I was younger I thought my Dad was the most wicked man living, he always wack my bum and my mum was the most loving, maybe because I was her lastborn, but unfortunately due to my rambunctious attitude, I had an accident and almost lost my left leg, the mark is still obvious today, due to that, I lost the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the 100m dash.
It was after I had my kids that I began to realise the pain father's goes through to raise responsible adults, so everytime I have the opportunity, I always tell my kids, my story. So you see my dad was not mean, he saw the handwriting on the wall. It pained him of my lost opportunities but it is me who is living with the regrets. I hope a lot of us bashing out at Dads on the forum will think deep. Finally, responsible Dad goes through a lot of stress in life not for themselves but to provide for their family, most mothers acknowledge this and that's why well brought up mothers stick with the Fathers no matter what, The crisis in our world today is because of absentee fathers. Someone jokingly ask at a wedding, when great grandmother and Grandma was called to the podium, "where are the Grandpa's gone. We fight it out in the outside world and still come back home to fight it out on the bed. God bless Fathers

The lady,Bola is criticizing her opinion made her choice. She's an adult to know who deserved to be love more between two parents.
For me I love both parents but I'll say I love my mum more. Mum and dad hustle coz they are business people, they return late at night so I'll sadly say that we lacked that parental relationship. But never the less, my mum cares more.
Despite dad been a businessman he keep scaring us a way to go to our mother that he don't have money. He kept saying this to us especially since my secondary school. Mum despite she doesn't have will try her best to give us the best. She borrows money or join money contribution saving groups and when it get her turn she collects the money to save us. Sometimes she borrows money to save us but father don't always claims he don't have and we always feel abandoned by him. He's rarely at home, too harsh or don't take responsibility.
God bless mothers who make efforts to train their children.
My mother was the only one who trained 4 of us. I've followed her to shop and most times see how bad market is but yet she can borrow money to cook good meal for us and pay our bills, buy Christmas clothes, give us money to barb etc even she's the one supporting my tertiary education. Mumsi na God go bless u.
And who told some of u that fathers are not manipulative too. He's tried to make us hate mum but we are no kids.

Thats true, women are weaker so the child has more sympathy for the Mother. So they are more sensitive to the conditions of a Mother.

Very baseless that's not an excuse.
I have seen children who love their fathers more than their mothers.

For the over years now, despite all efforts put by fathers to train up their children, by attending to all their basic needs as fathers, after becoming successful in adulthood, children always tend to do great things for their mothers than that of their fathers. Even me is a victim as well, I want do great things for my mum but I remember my dad did all he could for me, make sure that I don't become a miscreant in the society by making sure I was discipline enough but still yet I love my mum more than him.
Why is it like that? Or is it written in the Bible to favour your mother than your father when you are fully mature?

Pls push to front page, let's know our mistakes as fathers in our children's life
It's because the mothers are often more around the children than their fathers and use such closeness to brainwash the children into believing that they live them more, worst of all they use the resources provided by the very fathers such as money n food in their dubious act, most mothers deliberately refuses to discipline the children only threatening them with reporting to their fathers who is then term wicked by the children, it's only children that grows up to really understand life that truly appreciate the value of their fathers.

It's not the case in my family. Everyone is loved and appreciated for the part they played in raising the family and keeping it together. I don't know what my father and grandfather did better than other fathers and grandfathers but we love our parents and grandparents all the same.

Don't mind them. My children won't spend a day without me but they pray for their mum to travel

Mothers are the best in the mode of bringing up a child because a mother is always there for the child in trouble and peace, but some fathers don't care much about the child.

After dropping the feeding money he goes until a late hour that the child is asleep already.

For a father to be love is not all because of money he dropped but his care and attention towards that child will speak more to the child!

It also speaks that 74% of people plan to celebrate fathers day while 84% plan to celebrate mothers day

That's why children celebrate mothers than fathers and spend more on mother than father!

Times have changed.
Things are no longer as they used to be.
Fathers these days are consciously becoming more available and involved in the lives of their children than their own fathers were. And children nowadays are closer to their fathers.

I once saw a video on Instagram;A woman went to pick her daughter up from school (she was about 5yrs) and they were having a conversation about what happened at school that day (they were being driven in a car), then the mother (who was making the video) told her daughter to say
Hi
to her daddy and she did, then her mother told her to say I love you daddy, but the little girl said
No
and changed her mood. why? the mother asked surprised, ...because he didn't come to pick me up from school yesterday as he promised she replied.

The dad, who is a busy businessman was the one who posted the video on his Instagram page, and asked his followers on suggestions on how best to make it up to his princess as he called her.
So, the day after that, he made out time to go pick her up himself and he made it up to her by taking her on a lunch date, just the two of them.
As they were eating, the dad (who was making the video this time) asked her So Zala, you were angry with daddy yesterday for not picking you up from school right? the little girl blushed, she didn't expect the question (how cute)cheesy
Do you forgive daddy now? the dad asked, the little girl nodded. Do you love daddy? she said yes. Then give daddy a kiss, and she happily kissed her dad on the cheek and smiled. cheesy
Now, who wouldn't love such a dad?

God bless you for this.
