Feel so proud and happy to be a Nigerian

#FG and #NGPOWER banned Twitter and one day later, heaven did not fall and Twitter is making amends, deleting terrorist and destructive anti-Nigerian tweets off its platform.

Respect us as a nation and stop promoting violence, terrorist activities and the destruction of Nigeria.

God Bless Nigeria.

Abeg, how are they releasing this statements now? Are they using NIPOST to send it to the press or email?

They banned a channel of communication which gave them wide reach and are now releasing statements justifying their stupid decision. Twitter ban in one day yet electoral reform is taking endless years!

See how all the defenders of bad governance have quickly run to Nairaland to continue hustling for their BMC money

This Twitter shutdown has hurt their industry very badly indeed. Now they’re flocking here to defend this ridiculous ban.

Sorry people, this doesn’t make Nigeria look good. You’re here posting memes and claiming “Nigeria is a sovereign NAtion, Twitter don hear word!” Meanwhile the whole world is looking at us like one mumu country and mentally classifying us with the likes of North Korea.

With this action, Lai Mohammed et al have done more to de-market Nigeria to the international community than anything else anyone has done in the past 5 years. Now we look like utter clowns.

Defend it all you want for your kobo kobo money, but we all know the truth.

The ban was necessary for the growth of our nation. That platform was mainly used by IPOB miscreants to spread propaganda and cause mass hysteria in our darling nation. All that is history now. The Federal government made the right decision.
An app is what's preventing your country's growth? not corruption? not the people protecting Fulani terorrists? not fulani terorrists who go about killing for sport across the country? not fulani terorrists Kidnapping students? not buhari closing borders for 1 year? not buhari making Nigeria poverty capital of the world? not buhari's terrible economic practices that's responsible for the surging price of food items? Greenfield students Kidnappers walked away freely with 180million plus, the case died, no one in the government is interested in tracking these kidnappers but it's twitter, an app that is responsible for Nigeria's problems?
Police stations get attacked freely for hours in the south east, there's never been a time where support came from other security agencies, its more like they were told to stand down then the next day, idiots in the police will wake up with cooked up press release that the attackers are ipob, same attackers you allowed to operate for hours, you didnt engage them yet you already know they are ipob how?
You shouldn't be discussing politics as its way out of your depth

Muhammadu Buhari is the definition of descipline master.

He desciplined the irresponsible Twitter into behaving themselves.

How could you come to a country and seek to divide it?

On one Nigeria we stand.

The people responsible for the killings in kebbi must be peace keepers. The truth is you people dont care about the lives lost in Nigeria, you dont care about the killings happening across the country. Your government is responsible for these killings not twitter. Twitter is not sheikh gumi that was seen meeting with armed fulani terorrists who by the way is still a free man all thanks to buhari, but i know you already know that and it doesn't bother you because your kind has zero concern about enablers of terorrism in Nigeria.

Your kind is a classic echo chamber, blind government supporter who never sees anything wrong in what the government does, you only have a voice when the government says something be it lies or half truths, your type will always be available to cheer them on.
This is why you are quick to make this statement (Respect us as a nation and stop promoting violence, terrorist activities and the destruction of Nigeria) when in your heart you dont care about activities of terorrists in Nigeria.
Your government is quick to call ipob terorrists but i am sure you never wondered why those with the free license to kill in kebbi and other states are yet to be called terorrists. Continue your hailing, hope you see the light some day.

Let's not deceive ourselves, Twitter deserves the ban. What they did they can't try with America and get away it.

My only issue is Buhari is not fit to be the one to ban Twitter. And the fact that the ban came just after Twitter deleted Buhari's tweet shows their motive isn't right.

Twitter is wrong allowing Nmadi Kanu and other terrorists use their platform against a country but Buhari acting so swiftly shows we are in for it.

The Arrow ( can't believe me a staunch fan of his could say this ) could have acted this swiftly on many issues but refused but could add on something as mundane as Twitter.

722 days more to this sick maladministration but can we say with the stupidity of Buhari Nigeria will still be in existence by then?

What are you talking about?
Twitter fact-checked and deleted tweets from the president of America then they banned him completely even when he uses another person's account to tweet, they'll delete it.
Nnamdi Kanu is like any other private profile not given much attention like that of companies and presidents so he has been getting away with stuff but now twitter attention has been drawn to his account. He has been marked for vetting.

Hmmm..
Nigerians with their crazy penchant for glorifying nonsense.
What's the big deal in fg ban of Twitter??.is there anything extraordinary the govt is gaining from allowing Twitter operate in Nigeria??.
Now everybody is shouting fundamental human rights as if Twitter is the only form.of communications around. The last time I checked , there are many more other medium of communications and the most natural and effective one is your own mouth. Before the advent of these info techs, how was the world communicating?
To those comparing US with Nigeria, listen to this...
Trump could not ban these tech companies in the US because he lacked the unilateral power to do So and because these companies generate billions in dollars annually for the US govt.
I think it's high time we moved on from this frivolity and get serious as a nation.

How did you get this information? Oga, you don't have to respond na. If the government wants investors, they should create an enable environment and this act of trying to muscle everything is not one of it.
