Feel so proud and happy to be a Nigerian

#FG and #NGPOWER banned Twitter and one day later, heaven did not fall and Twitter is making amends, deleting terrorist and destructive anti-Nigerian tweets off its platform.

Respect us as a nation and stop promoting violence, terrorist activities and the destruction of Nigeria.

God Bless Nigeria.

Look at this one

Your country is cracking down on freedom of speech and you are rejoicing.

This is how dictatorship starts.

I really don't know the relevant or benefit of twitter to the Nigeria government to allow it to tear our country apart.

Let's not deceive ourselves, Twitter deserves the ban. What they did they can't try with America and get away it.

My only issue is Buhari is not fit to be the one to ban Twitter. And the fact that the ban came just after Twitter deleted Buhari's tweet shows their motive isn't right.

Twitter is wrong allowing Nmadi Kanu and other terrorists use their platform against a country but Buhari acting so swiftly shows we are in for it.

The Arrow ( can't believe me a staunch fan of his could say this ) could have acted this swiftly on many issues but refused but could add on something as mundane as Twitter.

722 days more to this sick maladministration but can we say with the stupidity of Buhari Nigeria will still be in existence by then?

The ban was necessary for the growth of our nation. That platform was mainly used by IPOB miscreants to spread propaganda and cause mass hysteria in our darling nation. All that is history now. The Federal government made the right decision.
because u dont have a twitter account...that is why u dont want those who have to enjoy it...u think the ban affect jack or ipob?no it dint affect us as theres so many ways mnk can communicate to us...infact we just received orders to block all anambara exit today and we are on it....but the ban effects the millions of nigerians using it to do their business....lets just say nigeria bans itself from twitter and announced it on twitter. ..fools living in a shithole

So every one on twitter is doing hate speech abi? Some people advertise their business on social media you know.

It's ironic you mention hate speech when Buhari was the one that got his tweet deleted for inciting violence in the first place.

Some of you will just sit down on Nairaland and be talking nonsense.

Twitter banned a whole sitting President of the United States of America, and banned another account Tweeting in his support, so, what did they do to Buhari that they cannot try in America? You think America is a dictatorship like your fake democratic country?

They want to ruin the only means of getting information in Nigeria, so that when they begin to kill Nigerians anyhow, nobody will know.

That is the might of presidency and a nation.

Imagine a mere social media company attempting to gag a nation.

Where was Twitter when electoral commission, security and other offices were burnt down in Nigeria, including scores of deaths of security agents?

For me, the President's 'tough talking' was necessary at the material time.

A THOUSAND BUHARI WOULD NOT SAVE THIS NATION SAYS THE LORD GOD OF HOSTS

This is what the Lord God of Hosts, said concerning the present state of the nation (Nigeria) in particular and Africa in general: A thousand Buhari wouldn’t save this nation except to leave it in the hands of few Muslims in the long-run, to share the nation among themselves and run it as their private enterprises and the scrambling had started. Nigerians should watch and see themselves being shared into the hands of few persons according to religions and regional lines...

See how all the defenders of bad governance have quickly run to Nairaland to continue hustling for their BMC money

This Twitter shutdown has hurt their industry very badly indeed. Now they’re flocking here to defend this ridiculous ban.

Sorry people, this doesn’t make Nigeria look good. You’re here posting memes and claiming “Nigeria is a sovereign NAtion, Twitter don hear word!” Meanwhile the whole world is looking at us like one mumu country and mentally classifying us with the likes of North Korea.

With this action, Lai Mohammed et al have done more to de-market Nigeria to the international community than anything else anyone has done in the past 5 years. Now we look like utter clowns.

Defend it all you want for your kobo kobo money, but we all know the truth.

Spot on. Thank you. Nairaland tribalists are just looking for where to hide in this ban. Nnamdi Kanu can answer for whatever he said.

I am not from East, but I am ashamed that this country is run aground every time the Presidency takes a dumb decision in the name of fighting for our sovereignty.

continue fooling yourself. Any media that allow terrorist to use them in spreading terrorism will be banned forever.
When Namdi kanu threatened to kill security personnels you called it loves speech, but when Buhari threatened to deal with terrorists you called hate speech.
As I said earlier : Continue fooling yourself.
