Thank God that America as a nation has strong institutions that were able to limit the excesses of the twice impeached orange man if not he would have done the same to America when Twitter permanently sent him to the oblivion of irrelevance.

If only Nigeria had strong institutions too to limit the excesses of dictators.

Thank God 81 million Americans removed that sick man from office. The orange head needs big tech more than big tech needs him,no wonder he had to end his blog because he couldn't get the attention he had on Twitter and tried to enter Twitter again last month and Jack banned the account again.

Like Trump like Buhari that is why I am amazed that people support Trump then hate Buhari they are the same thing the only difference is that America had strong institutions to curtail him which Nigeria unfortunately doesn't have

So who will regulate the regulators or could big tech be the much talked about New World Order?

You talked about strong institutions but Jack and Zuckerberg singlehandedly banned Trump from their platforms without giving a second thought to his freedom of speech.

81 million Americans removed Trump but you fail to consider the fact that 76 million Americans voted to keep him in power. Ironically, you forget that 15 million Nigerians voted to keep Buhari in power as against the 11 million that voted against him. You support insurrectionists that want to protest Buhari out of power but Capitol Hill protesters are terrorists? America is always right but whatever Nigeria does under Buhari is wrong? We are not house n*ggers!

Now that the Almighty Father, The Omega, Omniscience and Omnipotent God Of IPOB Terrorists Have Endorsed The Action Of Our Daddy Buhari...Can We Now Safely Say, That Whoever That Is Still Fighting Us, Is Fighting God!!!

The implication of this, is that Trump has voiced the political stand of the GOP...any attempt to sanction Nigeria, would highly resisted by the GOP's in the Congress...

Once again congratulations President Buhari..

1.Agree with you at the bolded...it was one of the most puzzling things that Trumpites in Nigeria hated Buhari, and Buharites hated Trump.
I guess there is truth in the maxim...Like repels (like trying to bring 2 North POLES of different magnets together...)

2.Am sure there would be some changes to the narrative among Trumpites in Nigeria today...

The media bias and manipulation by the big tech is really worrying.

Twitter was manipulating its trend to deliberately embarrass Donald Trump. This kind of manipulation by the these people that have turned themselves must be stopped.

Few unelected men should not have that kind of power.

What are the elected men doing with the power given to them? Pls stop sounding intelligently dumb. Your Buhari with all his power has plunged Naija into more chaos and hunger, yet it's twitter you all could flex your power on...abege make I hear word

Relax...twitter is not the only platformand you don't live in a world where YOU MUST HAVE A TWITTER ACCOUNT OR YOU WOULD BE BANISHED TO ANTARTICA is a rule.

Nigeria’s situation is not different. Censoring the speech of the president is an attack on freedom of speech and that is even by the way. Elected governments all over the world should regulate Big techs and not the other way round. Twitter should never be allowed an absolute right to determine what an elected president can say and what he cannot say.

I hope this ban is lifted soon because it is bad business for everybody. Forget about the emotional reactions in Nigeria, opinion leaders all over the world are in support of FG’s decision. Trump issuing a statement to support Nigeria’s decision is just the icing on the cake. Going forward, Twitter will not try this nonsense with any world leader again.

Yeah you are right. But with the rising unemployment in Nigeria, let them just bring Twitter back soon.

You clearly do not understand what free speech is...People like are you can not see beyond your own disdain and be... Trump is the one the best US president ever... Leftist cunt

So why is Trump calling for the ban of twitter? And applauding the action of the very autocratic Buhari?

This shows he is as autocratic as Buhari too

(And I don't like Biden or Kamala either, so don't go there)

Nairaland should learn from the fate of Twitter. There's a moniker "presidency" on Nairaland and the said moniker mostly make post about Aso Rock. Seun, the day either you or any of your mods ban that account or delete its post, that day, Nairaland is gone. Una go bite wetin go big pass una to chew. Shebi una sabi ban well well? Go ban presidency or delete its post and let's see what befalls you.

By their mark of the beast, you'll know them. Always quick to anger and welcoming to violence. They are slaves to one angry blood thirsty nymphomaniac prophet that cuddled their brain with one terrorism handbook attributed to one dirty sky god. Peace have never been near them.
These people with mark of the beast on their temple are horrible, if their terrorist tendencies ain't enough, they now want to cower the entire populeuse with intimidation.

If Trump was good and epitome of fair play and social equity, why was he booted out of office?

Birds of the same feather flock together. Light begets light and vice versa.

Watch it, the extinction of unpopular government is nearer than you think.

Where Trump is in US politics today, same place shall his political friend in Nigeria be.

This I have seen!

Technically he wasn't booted out of office. He got 76 million real life voters while the current President got 81 million votes, majority of which are mailed in ballots. His only failing was refusing to graciously bow out.

Trump cannot support Twitter because it banned likewise Facebook.Trump as a president did well in human development indexes and security compare to disaster Buhari. There's no clear ground to even compare them.
