Now that the Almighty Father, The Omega, Omniscience and Omnipotent God Of IPOB Terrorists Have Endorsed The Action Of Our Daddy Buhari...Can We Now Safely Say, That Whoever That Is Still Fighting Us, Is Fighting God!!!

The implication of this, is that Trump has voiced the political stand of the GOP...any attempt to sanction Nigeria, would highly resisted by the GOP's in the Congress...

Once again congratulations President Buhari..
These the same imbecilic terrorist who were advising IPOB just few days ago to relocate from Nigeria and settle in other countries all over the world pretending he's an Igbo and he loves Igbos so much, I even asked this terrorist where he was throwing his advice from and he said somewhere in Europe. Let the public judge him from this his latest idiocy of a statement above.

Twitter is not a means of "free speech". If you doubt me, make any anti-LGBT comments on Twitter and see if your comments would not be deleted and your accounts probably banned. Matter of fact, people have lost their jobs because of such comments. Freedom of speech is not absolute, it is dependent on the leanings of the regulators of whatever platform such comments are made.

LGBT are humans with rights like u, u can have have a civil discussion with them bt not hate on or attack them because they are LGBT, u don’t have a right to hurt/harm other people’s rights.

Do u understand this fact?

It’s like someone attacking sm1 else’s religion say Islam or Christianity online because u are opposed to it? Racism and extreme tribal bigotry, online bullying. We get away with some of these things mosttimes bt they are very wrong. Twitter is balancing that. These expressions are abuse of free speech not free speech.

U have to respect other people’s rights while enjoying ur rights. This is very simple.

Yes they can ban whoever is hazardous to people’s rights or causes direct harm to others by the statements. Even Facebook banned trump and many other apps? Why? At the outcome of the invasion?

A protest is legal, a protest can escalate also due how bad or properly it is handled and people will react to this rightfully. Bt attacks ur state institutions that are fair to all rather than going through legal channels is wrong.

It’s like Atiku loosing in 2019 and declaring war on Nigeria for not proving he won and making him president because of the many questionable issues. He cud do that bt only peacefully to to cause harm to society, he can also follow legal means which is what a mature atiku did and accepted. Trump should have done this not assuming and concluding he can never lose just because he is potus or the president or trump.

This was what Buhari also failed to do when he lost to Jonathan 2011 and caused mayhem in which many where killed in the North including coppers. It was a monumental attack on our institutions though our electoral institutions were compromised bt that doesn’t mean take laws into ur hands. I support ipob bt not their violence though it was the government that escalated these issues.

Twitter is and should be guided by international standards of freedom of expression and free speech.

Do you mean government actions made them slaughter and kill their own igbo people, burn down businesses, houses, government institutions food shipment trucks and so on?

You are not making sense, not even the rest of your post.

Read my post again slowly. U are a Nigerian so I’m sure u know some of the facts on this matter not just me. Ipob is majorly to blame because of their stupid and harsh rhetorics at the government bt it was only speeches till they government engaged in physical attacks which now escalate to series of violence.

If the rest of my post doesn’t make sense after reading again then u must be in denial or better still state where I am incorrect and correct me.

Thank God that America as a nation has strong institutions that were able to limit the excesses of the twice impeached orange man if not he would have done the same to America when Twitter permanently sent him to the oblivion of irrelevance.

If only Nigeria had strong institutions too to limit the excesses of dictators.

Thank God 81 million Americans removed that sick man from office. The orange head needs big tech more than big tech needs him,no wonder he had to end his blog because he couldn't get the attention he had on Twitter and tried to enter Twitter again last month and Jack banned the account again.

Like Trump like Buhari that is why I am amazed that people support Trump then hate Buhari they are the same thing the only difference is that America had strong institutions to curtail him which Nigeria unfortunately doesn't have

We don't have strong institutions in Nigeria but you could still type this? Try it in North Korea or China, then you will understand that there is freedom of speech in Nigeria

So that makes Buhari right to ban Twitter, in your opinion.

You are now in essence supporting Buhari because Trump gave his support to his autocratic action.

If you don't like Twitter, join another platform. If you don't like CNN use other media outlets. I myself have long since abandoned CNN

That makes Twitter liable to sanctions.
Twitter itself is banning freedom of speech as long as it is against their own views all in the guise of Terms and Conditions.
You're only supporting Twitter now because Buhari is a failed president.

A lot of Nigerians supporting Twitter now were against Twitter when it was deleting Donald Trump's tweets about Covid-19.

By the way, there are already advocates for pedophilia and bestiality seeking to recognize these acts as rights too. Big tech may succumb tomorrow and then proceed to impose the recognition of these acts as human rights while banning and barring all with opposing views from their platform. That is mind control if you ask me. It also throws the room open for bias. Just as Jack concluded that EndSars protesters are activists and capitol hill protesters are terrorists.

You sound very woke and the funny thing with you woke people is self righteousness which sincerely is nothing but hypocrisy. Why do the cancel culturists still go back in time to comments people made 20 years ago to blacklist them and deplatform them. Where is their right to free speech? Kevin Hart was bullied and prevented from hosting the Oscars because of comments he joked about in the past which no longer sits right with the woke establishment. Where was his freedom of expression?

During EndSars, a lot of people in a mob-like manner, reported accounts that dared to say anything contrary to the protests and Twitter blocked and deleted their comments. Where was freedom of speech? If we are to believe that Buhari's tweets were deleted because it was reported enmass, does it mean any and all tweets should also be deleted if such tweets also get mass reported? Bear in mind that there is skewness in representation on social media and it doesn’t necessarily represent the mood of the whole country. This is why Atiku won all the polls on social media and still lost the election.

So I ask again, who determines what constitutes free speech or an abuse of free speech? If my comments sit right with a lot of people, does it make my comments fair? You talked about how free speech entails respecting people’s religions, but some religions frowns upon and even criminalizes some acts like sodomy and abortion, if I speak against them and you get me banned for abuse of free speech on Twitter, are you not impeding on my religious beliefs? Make it make sense.

Exactly, and the president has the right to ban it when it is a security risk. Which is why it has been banned in some countries including China. Even UK was on the verge of banning it.

Atiku winning online doesn’t mean he can’t win offline. Did Apc not win online and offline against Jonathan?? I will blame the electoral system and the many irregularities for this so leave that story.

Muslims, Christians, traditional religion and even maybe Buddhism etc have coexisted for thousands of years, which issues and differences here and there. It takes tolerance and maybe even acceptance.

U must respect others rights to religious beliefs u can disagree bt not attack them for it bt if sm1 goes ahead to attack u for it, u follow the decent or legal part not attack them in a manner against the law. That will enforce ur rights or free speech as the case maybe.

Abortion is a question of laws. Every country has laws. U can’t go to Saudi Arabia and do as u like can u? They tell u b4 u come do it this way coz it’s our laws. U have to respect that.

Once they do this constitutionally they can now go ahead and do whatever they like with Nigerians nobody can dare complain or na death like China. grin

Sorry to jump into the argument, but I feel compelled to do so because you did not address the very valid point AMINDA was making.

He is basically asking you who or what determines who is right in free speech when there are conflicting views especially on social media. He gave a very valid case in point. On Twitter, people often get banned when their opinion is against the popular stand when in most cases the opinion is not in itself offensive when a neutral party views it. But they get banned simply because majority did not like those tweets and reported them e.g some people who called for the endsars protest to end early to avoid degeneration into chaos were bullied and reported by most of the twitterati.

So the key question is is that not a gag on free speech on twitter? Who determined that the people who were banned did not have a right to freedom of their expression, and that the people who reported them had a right? Is it because they are in the majority? Meanwhile, he is also telling you that majority on twitter does not necessarily translate to majority in Nigeria in reality as seen in the presidential polls if the "majority" is the yardstick that twitter is using to determine who has a right to free speech.

It’s fine. Actually he raised many points and issues including Apc, elections etc and I addressed most of them in my reply I probably missed this one u noted which wasn’t intentional. I have adequately addressed others and u are free to counter them if u think otherwise if it makes better sense.

On this particular issue. It’s very simple. It is very basic. People have a right to protest not so? If u come out to say they should who are u and what does that make u?? undecided I’m sure u can answer this easily.

Now if the protesters want to call of the protests they are free bt u can’t decide for all the protesters. However if u as a protester wants to stop u are free to go home and nobody will come to ur house and beat u for not protesting. During Apc protests against Jonathan a sat in my house and nobody bothered me, neither did I go online and say Apc don’t protest leave Jonathan alone when I know it’s their right?

So if u come online and say people should go home or stop protesting in a way that seems to want to sabotage the protest u cud be reported and maybe banned because it’s their right to protest anyway even if it’s for 100 days. undecided

If U don’t want to protest u can tell u people or just go home not so? undecided why telling people not to continue exercising their fundamental rights?? undecided who are u?

Also remember the government had been obnoxiously and criminally trying to stop the protests using various means even when peaceful? Rather than deal with hooligans them came after peaceful protesters in lekki.

Apc has protested and campaigned using twitter. So?

If people report u doesn’t mean u get banned. They look into it and state their reasons for the ban if they actually go ahead to ban u.

Doesn’t ordinary nairaland ban people based on their laws? undecided
