Why Many Prophets And Kings Of Old Desired To Hear What The Law Of Christ Says

Luke 10:23-24 (KJV)

And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

The many prophets and kings Jesus spoke of were under the Law of Moses, yet they desired to hear what the disciples who were under the Law of Christ heard, because the Law which Christ brought was bigger, better, greater, and a significant upgrade from the Law of Moses which they heard and knew.

What many prophets and kings of old desired to hear but could not hear, is the same thing many Christians today have heard but have little or no regard for because they are ignorant of the value of it.

So the many prophets and kings of old Jesus spoke of, despite being under the Law of Moses, including John the Baptist, knew much better than many Christians today concerning the value of the Law of Christ, hence would have done much better with it if they had it.

Christians of today could do well to learn a thing or two from the prophets and kings of old.
