Physics is a great course for great minds. As a physicist you hold the key to Nigeria's technological breakthrough. You can be an inventor, work in power industry, IT and technology related industry, research institutions, and of course, being a professor of physics is not a bad idea! And lastly, don't forget that Nigeria is a funny country. You can study physics and end up being a bank manager or bank MD! 2 Likes |

A friend graduated with 2:1 in Physics(Education). After years of teaching, he wants to pursue his master(Radiation and Health Physics or medical physics) with the hope of getting a job in Health sector. He was also advised to apply for direct entry to study Radiography, also with the hope of getting a job in health sector some day. Pls advise, which is better |

Physics is good and the backbone of engineering bla bla Didn’t they tell you it’s the backbone of some 15k per month teaching job? If you don’t delve into IT ASAP you’ll understand how tedious it is to write lesson notes for JSS1 to SS2. IT should be your next focus. |

doghorp:I studied polymer engineering but physics and mathematics are the two greatest courses. Courses for the gods. Physicist decide how the world goes. Eg, Albert Einstein's e =mc2 ushered in the nuclear age. Now the god equation if properly understood will bring a new dispensation. |

Physics is one if not the best science course you can study. You need to see studying Physics beyond being a Physics Teacher. As a Physics graduate you need to apply your high numerate skills into a field of practice, such as Oil and Gas, Telecommunications, Programming, Banking, Consulting, and so on. I studied Physics and I applied my Physics Degree in the Telecommunications Industry. So look at areas where you can apply your Physics Degree. The Sky is your limit. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Eiyah.. poor you. Having money and owning a big company does not make you an engineer. Elon Musk was never recognised as an engineer by the Society of American Engineers. Nearly everyone calls himself engineer in Nigeria. Even road side mechanics who couldn't write their names calls themselves engineers. |

doghorp:Physics is the best course in the world after Mathematics ..... Physics is the physical expression of Mathematics!! I did Accounting but if I were to be a Science Student, Physics is what I will do then Establish myself so adequately in Statistics then Be the Best Programmer/Hacker/Cybersecurity Expert/Data Scientist/Forensic Expert the world has ever witnessed.... I did Accounting though and I'm still hungry ... chaiii, you can't do more than what your brains knows !! 1 Like |

eddynaira125:The problem with most Africans is application of knowledge .... You can start with Physics then understand the labour market then transfer your physics knowledge to other domain where Algorithm is an essential requirement ..... Then let the formulas begin .... Imagine Adapting Physics knowledge to Cryptography or Hacking .... There is no knowledge module that stands on it's own in creating an application... Even my phone : There is Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Accounting, Business administration, Electrical Engineering etc .... all these Knowledge modules created this phone and brought it into my hands !! 1 Like |

Alusiizizi:Every course point to God because they are all derived from each other and are all interrelated due to transfer of theoretical background from one Discipline to validate concepts in another discipline .... I'm an Accountant and with what I have learnt from Accounting, she gives me theoretical background into Judgement system of Earth as per Profit and Loss !! |

doghorp: 1. Try to graduate with good grade. 2. Try to also learn as much as you can (computational Physics, geophysics) The reason I mentioned these two is that you may have to try opportunities in coding, programming, data analysis and any part of tech. You may also want to look into geophysics or electronics. Good luck. |
