Is It Possible To Live In A Sinful World And Not Sin?

If the Words of Jesus was anything to go by, then it's possible, because Jesus told some sinners to "sin no more" and He wouldn't have done if it wasn't possible to live without sinning.

John 5:14 (KJV)

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

John 8:11 (KJV)

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Therefore it's very possible, and that's the Will of God for every man, to "sin no more", because that's what gives Him the greatest glory.

That's why it took a man who was not sinning, for God to have something to brag about before the devil, and put him in his rightful place.

Job 1:8 (KJV)

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Hence it was the man's sinlessness that God was bragging about before the devil, because it brings Him glory, but if it was a man who was sinning, God would not be able to brag about him before the devil, because it would be shameful for Him.

So it's not only possible to live in a sinful world and yet not sin, but it's also the greatest desire of God for every man on Earth to live a sin-free life, because that's what gives Him the greatest glory before His enemy, the devil, who himself is hell-bent on preventing God from getting the glory He deserves from man. Hence his temptations and doing everything he possibly could to make man to sin against God, because sin also gives him access to man's life and the license to do damage to his life, and hence thwart the plans of God concerning man, just as he did to man in the beginning.

So if you want your life to bring God glory and not the devil, you have to sin no more as Job and several other men in the past, whose lives have proven that it's very possible for men to live sin-free lives on Earth to the glory of God.

"For with God all things are possible." Mark 10:27

God bless.

Noah's life is another proof that it's possible to live in a sinful world and not sin, because during the days of Noah, God saw that every man had corrupted his way on Earth, and the thoughts of man's heart were continually evil. Genesis 6:5

Yet it was at this same generation that the wickedness of man was great on Earth, that Noah was said to have lived just and perfect life. Genesis 6:9

So don't let any man deceive you that it's not possible to live on this Earth and not sin, because that's not true going by the lives men as Noah lived on Earth.

God bless.

Noah’s subject matter is Hebrews 11:7: “By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith”

Note the word righteousness by faith

Not by works

Least any man should boast before God

The bible here explained his rightoesness before you jump up and say he was perfect

The bible shows all men have sinned
All so if you see any man claiming to be sinless spit on him and tell him he calls God a liar

Question
If all are sinners, then how can Job be perfect? Job 1:1 and Romans 3:23
Answer

Job 1:1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Job 1:1 is not saying that Job was "perfect," that is, totally without sin (Is it possible not to sin?), but rather, that he was "loyal." Any blamelessness and righteousness he had was on account of his relationship with God who forgives and forgave him.

Job was corrected for his sin (Job 39). Job even repents: "Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes" (Job 42:6). Job was not sinless, but he was loyal.

You must be made perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect".
Who makes one perfect is a question

Answer
Hebrews 12:23
You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect,

The Hebrew word tōm, translated in Job 1:1 as perfect, has a number of different usages. The word, or one of its derivatives, is used in Genesis 17:1 where God told Abraham to “be perfect.” And all Israel was instructed to “be perfect” in verses such as:

“Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God” (Deuteronomy 18:13).

“God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect” (2 Samuel 22:33).

Summary if God declare that you are perfect even though you are a man of sin his word over rides your sin nature

Who makes one perfect? How is one made perfect? ... you become perfect through contnual submission to and obedience of the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, the Truth of God , that is able to set you free from slavery to sin - John 8 vs 31 - 44

Are you also living in disobedience of your parent's as a result of your being alive? undecided

Sin is disobedience of God's commandments - it's definition is not arbitrary but defined. So it is only when you make a choice to disobey God in your heart that you are guilty of sin. Living is not sin against God. What is sin is that choice you make to go against what God has commanded of you. undecided

Most people commit sin out of ignorance - they have no real idea of what God commandments. God said it too in Hosea 4 vs 1 -6 when He declared that His people suffer for lack of knowledge of His commandments. undecided

Many more walk around carrying with them a weight of guilt concluding their very existence is in sure violation of God's Law, this without in fact digging to know the truth. undecided

May this never be our lot for it is hard to enjoy life carrying around all that meaningless weight because of our ignorance of the Truth of God. undecided

Jesus Christ is the Word of God and He declared that those who are His are those who do as He commands of them, and Jesus Christ never asked anyone to believe in scripture nor in a book called the Bible. undecided

So is your holding to a belief in a book that was never commanded of you by God even of God? undecided

Job was the most righteous man of his day—perfect and upright, the Bible says—famous and well liked for his many good deeds (Job 1:1). He used his great power and wealth to help the disadvantaged—the poor, the fatherless and the widows. He even used his great influence to destroy pagan forms of worship.

The problem was, Job knew he was righteous—and this made him horribly self-righteous. This sin is the most difficult sin there is to see. Though Job was “perfect and upright” in how he observed the strict letter of God’s law, he was neglecting the spirit of the law. He was full of vanity and pride.

Because of this, God allowed him to endure a horrendous period of trial and test so he could clearly see himself in relation to God! God told Satan he could destroy all of Job’s wealth—even his children—but couldn’t touch Job himself (verses 6-12). God actually used Satan to chasten Job for his self-righteousness. On the surface, Job maintained a right attitude and knew exactly what to say (verses 20-22), but this only added to his deep-seated problem.

God then allowed Satan to lash out at Job personally, striking him with sore boils from head to toe (Job 2). While Job’s sin still didn’t show itself outwardly, on the inside Job just couldn’t understand why he, of all people, would be tried and tested with such severity.

During Job’s trial, his three friends Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar came to console him (verse 11). The next 30 chapters of the story recite the dialogue that followed between Job and his three friends. None of these counselors, however, provided God’s solution to Job’s problem, which is why God eventually corrected them. They could only accuse Job of being guilty of some obvious, visible sin, even though they themselves didn’t know what it was. When Job demanded they show him where he had erred, they couldn’t point out one mistake he had made (Job 6:24).

Even when suffering through the worst trial of his life, Job remained impressed with his righteousness. And not just him: Those who knew him best were also awed by his uprightness and many special talents and abilities (Job 29:8-10).

None of the counsel helped because Job was righteous in his own eyes (Job 32:1).

At this point, Elihu entered the scene. He was angry with Job for putting himself above God and with the three counselors because they only criticized Job without getting to the cause of the problem (Job 32:2-3). By maintaining his innocence even as God was correcting him, Job showed that he thought he was greater than God. So God inspired Elihu to give Job proper perspective (Job 33:8-12).

Job was striving against God, Elihu said (verse 13), like potter’s clay talking back to the potter. Job’s big problem was not some secret sin he was hiding, but the fact that he gave credit to himself and not to God for all of his righteous deeds! Job actually held his own righteousness in higher esteem than God’s (Job 35:1-2).

In Job 36 and 37, Elihu magnified the great God. Job may have known and even applied the strict letter of God’s law, but he fell far short of knowing the magnificent wonder of the Creator. While the other three friends had spoken of God’s right to bring punishment upon sinners, Elihu spoke of God’s superabundant love and mercy—and His willingness to give salvation to those who turn to Him in repentance.

Finally, God addressed Job. A brilliant architect, Job may have built great pyramids, but God built the universe (Job 38:3-4). Job made the mistake of comparing himself with other men, and he ended up getting a big head. We must compare our works to the works of God—not men (2 Corinthians 10:12).

God said, I don’t care if you’ve built 50 million structures and given 50 million dollars to the poor. Next to my works, that is just filthy rags (Job 38:5-7; Isaiah 64:6). Job thought he knew so much. But how much knowledge did he really have?

“[B]y the time God finished, Job’s estimation of himself was exactly nil,” Herbert W. Armstrong wrote in

[B]y the time God finished, Job’s estimation of himself was exactly nil,” Herbert W. Armstrong wrote in an article titled “Why Must Men Suffer?” “Job was able to maintain his case against Satan—against his friends. But now he could not answer God! Job’s trouble was not what he had done, but what he was—self-righteous! The self in Job had never died!” (Plain Truth, October 1957).

In chapter 42, Job humbly admitted for the first time that he simply did not know. While Job had said similar things before, he didn’t really believe it from the heart (verses 2-3). He had been deceived by his own vanity.

Just like so many in this world, Job had a false image of God (verses 4-5). At last he repented of his wrong attitude and finally saw himself clearly and in comparison to God (compare verse 6 to Job 13:1).

The lesson of Job proves it is possible to be right, technically speaking, yet horribly wrong. When Job’s friends began to blame Job, he tried to maintain his own righteousness instead of God’s. That was at the core of Job’s problem!

Satan wants you to get to the point where you don’t really see yourself for what you are. We all must fight this satanic mindset and turn to God in repentance like Job, whose name means repentant.

Everything changed for the better—and dramatically so—once Job finally turned to God in humble repentance (James 5:11). In the end, after Job got his mind off himself and onto others, God blessed him with twice as much as he had before!

Here's God's say concerning Job, so let God be true and every man who says something contrary concerning Job be a liar!

Job 1:8 (KJV)

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

There's a reason I usually used red ink to distinguish the Words that emanate out of God's mouth from those that came out of the mouth of men.

It's because there's a glaring difference and I'm going to share it next on the righteousness series.

God bless.

You are told by the author of this article that Almighty God made a mistake of the ungodly kind. And you believe it? undecided

You are told by this author that God declared a man, still with pride and conceit in His heart, sin against God, Holy(sinless), and you believed this author without even much as second thought. You side with this author to put God down as one who makes mistakes in His Judgement , and no alarms went off in your hearts and heads when you did that. Doesn't that there reveal to you the very condition of your hearts towards God at this time? undecided

This author tells you that an unholy/imperfect man , still filthy with sin, was declared righteous by God, and you chose to believe the account of this man over the very account of God Himself in Job 1 even as He boasted of Job to Satan. undecided

Check your hearts because it is clear that you have left God and are walking deep in the camp that is against God. undecided
