Your own so called logic is shallow.

If they were not Fulanis, the husband that was kidnapped who was with them would have countered that cos the two guys would have been conversing amidst themselves while running with the kidnapped husband. Also the use of a dagger is a signature of either Hausa or Fulani. Add the fact that they were bush dwellers coupled with their skinny wiry outlook, and its Fulani that fits into the bill.
