Please remain in the manufacturing Job,being a contract staff in a bank will end in frustration, even so called permanent staff are not finding it easy let alone contract staff, you can be asked to go at any time and the stress and pressure involved is not for the faint hearted.Banking only looks glamorous on the outside.

Dear Nairaland, Kindly push this to the front page for clarification.

Pls kindly advise appropriately if you are in my shoes , which will you opt for.

I currently work with a manufacturing company which are into production of distilleries product as an Account Officer 60,000(Entry level) with no benefits attached but job security and yearly salary review is guaranteed and now Stanbic Ibtc Bank has offered me a contract job as a Bank Teller at their V.I office at Idejo and is a 2 years contract, subject to renewal base on performance and need for service.

Pls kindly lend you voice with respect to what i should do.

Should i continue the formal or opt for the later?

Best regards.

Go for the manufacturing job, at least you are assured of the 60k been complete at the end of the month + yearly salary reviews..

Bank job of 70k fit no complete at th end of the month, due to shortage ere and there...

Some manufacturing company may not be safety conscious, meaning that those things that will prevent their workers from injury in case of unforseen circumstances may not be present.

stay back, ganner experience, get chartered and land a better job in the manufacturing sector.

Banking is a waste of time,be it contract or core staff!

Core staff wey get sense dey manage squeeze out something from the job sha with lots of sacrifices.

NB, na personal experience I share so

U mean a teller in a bank is better than an accountant in a manufacturing firm in terms of boosting cv.

I will advice you to continue with your $120 job, something can just hit that bank, they will start dropping staffs and if your village people are not holiday that day, they will just submit your CV in their calabash. But we are really suffering in this country, $120 in a month? I will pay electricity, data, food, transportation, if you're a church boy you will pay tithe. How much is a pair of jean? God help your children, just save and japa

The height of stupidity is calculating Naira denominated salary in dollars. Does he spend in dollars? His type of accommodation in America is it same price as it is in Naira? Is his tax rate same as in the U.S.?

I don't know if to describe your problem as extreme inferiority complex or to just assume is a simple case of extreme dumbness

University education in the US costs an average of $15k per session and in Nigeria it's $100 Yet you calculate Naira earnings in $

You need deliverance cos it seems your village people are fully on your case

Have you mapped out what you want in 5 years time?

Whatever your plans, include a side hussle. You cant work 9-5 building another person's millions without creating one for your self.

70 or 80k, you gotta still look for another opportunity. As you are working now, you are no longer a new entrant and you are more likely to get another job. Search round the internet for another opportunity that matches what you want, when you see it, rework your resume and go for it.

Remember, build your side hussle as you are planning to build another persons own.

Good luck!
