Anchoring his message on the Bible book of John 8 v 32: “…Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”, Okotie began to examine the life of T.B Joshua whose name is Joshua.

“Joshua took that name because he believes he is another Jesus. He believes that God sent him to our world to bring reconciliation between God and mankind, exactly the same way the Lord Jesus was sent, and that is why he took that name Joshua,”he said.

Speaking on the identity of T.B Joshua, Okotie said the clergyman fulfilled the pattern of Bar-Jesus, a false prophet, and a sorcerer according to the Book of Acts, Chapter 13 v 6:

“He is a magician, a sorcerer and calls himself a prophet. Notice he doesn’t call himself an apostle, he doesn’t call himself a teacher, he doesn’t call himself a pastor because if he calls himself by any other name outside of prophet, he does not fulfill the pattern. So, he must stick with that appellation. He must call himself prophet so, so and so… So, he is a magician who claims to be a prophet but he is a false prophet…,” Okotie said

Okotie went further to say that T.B Joshua went about doing philanthropic work just so he can be like Jesus.

The question whether or not is TB Joshua a true prophet of God is a question only God himself can answer and not even him whom have many red fingers pointing at him. Okotie point of argument and actions is highly defenceless and weak it shows he is either jealous of TB Joshua legacies or he wants to use his death to revive his lost popularity.

Mind your business

Of course, by virtue, of the Bible, TB Joshua was not a real Christian and was probably part of an esoteric cult. Anyone who has sat close to the altar at the synagogue can see the pictures of many heavily bearded men (mostly white). Who are these people? Why were their pictures at the altar? Besides, the miracles done at the synagogue were fake. Several family members with genuine ailments went there and there was no healing. That said, he was a charismatic man just like most other pastors and his acts of charity stand in contrast with most other pastors.

As for Okotie, despite his knowledge of church history and the Bible, he himself has a number of skeletons in his closet most relating to "issues of the flesh". So he might not be in the best position to criticize Joshua especially since Nigerians have not forgiven him for his lie: that God told him he was going to be Nigeria's president. God, should he exist, apparently has chosen others for the job of torturercommander in chief.
