Gerrard59:desist from over hyping western countries. They also got their flaws. Stop slamming your home country. This is your father land no matter the decade spent in the Western countries Btw, I'm not against seeking for greener pastures anywhere one deemed fit. But the over hyping of those West at the detriment of your home country is what i don't buy. |

Please! Please! Please again! I am kneeling down now begging you to flee. Don't make the same mistake like me. I had opportunity to travel to Canada when I was in my final year and I refused because of Nigeria bsc. Now, look at me! |

Oviebright: If you are leaving Nigeria, ensure you are going to an English speaking country where you will get work permit and consequently permanent residence after your studies. Canada, Australia and the US are your best places in that order. You may not readily get work permit in the US after your studies except you studied a STEM course so, Canada and Australia are your best options. Needless to say, japa is the best thing to do, even 70year olds want to leave Nigeria so, you a youth should take a cue from that. 1 Like |

Oyetboy:from what I heard, it's hard to get well paying jobs in the UK because of competition. You know say UK na the papa and mama of many countries in the world so many people troop there looking for opportunities, thinking the streets of London are paved with gold. I heard you can now stay for up to 2 years in the UK after graduation to look for jobs before you are deported back to your country. I think it used to be 2-3 months before. |

It depends on the federal government job you are lobbying for and only a few federal government job starts you with a good pay most of the federal government job is just a waste of time cos they pay you peanut without any extra allowances, don't be decieve most federal government job is overrated they don't pay well and the growth is very insignificant. I'm not saying this to discourage you I'm saying it because I'm a federal government staff and its d fact, you can hardly do anything unless you take a loan cos d salary is small and can hardly save anything from it at d end of the month. I would advise you to travel abroad since you have sponsor or better still look for a good business to invest on in Nigeria if you have good capital.uote author=Oviebright post=104863068]I'm 24 years of age finished nysc and graduated a couple of years ago. Job searching but nothing tangible out of it. I'm opportuned as my family members are ready to sponsor me to study abroad but we're not rich just a average Nigeria family who can raise funds to do it. But the thing is that I'm having double minds as to whether to lobby and pay for a federal government job or start making plans to leave naija but the problem is that the money is there but no connect there. What do you think I should decide ON? Whether to stay in naija and lobby for a federal job or Start making plans to go abroad? But the thing is that we can gather the money to buy a slot if possible but no connect. Please moderators give your opinions. [/quote] |

Gerrard59: You know what, you're absolutely right. I've been really trying to stay hopeful about this country, but I tire. These businesses you mentioned here (among many others) were started in the hope that this county can actually become something. I feel for the founders and now that I think about it, I would advise anybody who can, to japa as soon as possible. Every day, we wake up to nonsense new policies. |
