I think you'll request for it. Not like they'll give you along with your bank statement like they know what you want to use it for?

Let me run a quick background here, i didnt even know we'll be applying to relocate to Canada till Monday June 7 this year, we have always wanted to move to Canada but the plan has been via Express Entry. Due to age constraint, we decided we should go via school and then we had the UK option too but the plan was to leave Nigeria by December 2022 at worst case scenario. Left for me, the process would probably start around June next year lol but my wife was much into the relocation plan. The funny thing is that i am "agent" and i worked with one of the leading agencies in Nigeria even heading Abuja's branch, students are always asking, bro when you go comot Naija, you wey dey help us, you no wan comot abi..or students asking have you been to all these countries before? lol me wey be say na only Dubai i don go, for some i say yes i don go (i lied), some i tell them the truth that i'm not ready yet.

Fast forward, i applied to school and admission came 2 days after. Deposit was made and we went for upfront medicals, did IELTS and Police Character. We gathered documents and finally submitted August 30, it is pertinent to state that this application was God's grace. I told my wife we should fast and pray every Tuesday till we get approval and our prayers points were specific:

1. God should perfect all the imperfections of the our application in the eyes of the Visa Officers
2. God should not allow our application be delayed for too long.
3. God should have mercy and compassion on our application.
4. I had a dream the 2nd week after i submitted the application that i was approved, so i started praying that God should make the dream a reality and let us get approval as a family.

My church has been about having testimonies in the month of October but 2 things happened that stood out for me. 1st, when i saw Jay316 approval last week Friday Oct 15, i noticed on his timeline that he submitted a week before us, immediately, i keyed into his testimony and approval that God should please let us have our PPR this week. In church this Sunday, Oct 17 we sang raise me up and tapped into Jehovah God raising my family to Canada. Pastor also said someone in the service would testify next week, I also tapped into it as I expect our Canada visa approval this new week in Jesus name. Then this morning around 7:30, NSSPD Pastor Jerry said someone will get the email they have been expecting in 1 hour time and good news before 6pm. Lo and behold, i got 2 emails from IRCC at exactly 8:10am, without checking who sent the mail, i started saying this is IRCC, this is IRCC and when i opend my mail it was IRCC oo, thats how i started dancing and praising God before opening my portal declaring that yes the word of God have to come pass that its going to be approval and when i logged in, i went straight to the bottom and i saw the golden messages CORRESPONDENCE LETTER & ORIGINAL PASSPORT REQUEST, while checking my own, the mail for my daughter came in and 2-3 minutes later, the mail for my wife dropped too. Na baba God do am ooooo, people help me should 3 powerful Hallelujah.

As someone who has been in the study abroad industry for a while, i can boldly say that i got lotta information from this travel thread, thanks to all the gurus that share important information. I didnt do anything anything special but God is his infinite mercy gave us the approval, he made an ordinary application extra ordinary. The only thing i would say to prospective applicants is to take their time to study the thread well and be detailed in their SOP/LOE.

Who did it guys? JESUS...Oh My God...Woowwwwwwwwwwwww What God cannot do does not exist!!!

To start with, I'm a first time applicant and more of a silent reader on the thread.

The idea of getting a PR erupted in my mind in 2019 and I decided to take IELTS where I had an overall score of 8.0 but somehow Covid 19 came by and affected all the plans and I abandoned it midway, the zeal was never really there because I had always been an advocate of "Nigeria is filled with milk and honey, we can make it better, why leave for another man's country", hence, it was easy to let go of the idea.

The next phase started in November 2020 when I suddenly got tired of the country and the way we were headed. I woke that early morning without having an idea of the country I wanted to travel to even if its temporarily, though Canada had always been in my subconscious, however at this point I was ready and determined to step out of the shores of this country for once. I went online and researched, then I came across Victor Ola's Travel Guide to Canada without IELTS and I bought it. I studied it for some days, did further research online and commenced application into Canadian colleges. I wished I had come across this thread before now.

I applied to Durham College - got rejected based on educational gap;
Algonquin College - got rejected based on educational gap
Confederation College - abandoned the application because they referred that they use agents

Centennial College - got admission a month after my application (submitted First Degree transcripts, Certificate, CV with 8years experience in Constructions, Consulting and facilities management) without IELTS though I had one and applied to study Construction Management. I was advised to defer admission till Fall 2021 if I wanted to come to Canada based on Covid 19 procedures, otherwise I will have to settle for online classes if i wanted to commence classes in May 2021, so i opted for Fall (Sept 2021).

I was first issued a deposit admission letter to be replaced with a full admission offer letter after making a payment of $2650 to secure a spot as I was advised the spots for the course gets filled very fast. I immediately made the payment and secure the offer letter a week later.

I started arranging the required documents needed to commence temporary visa application. I forgot to mention I already have first and second degrees in Civil Engineering in 2011 and 2017 respectively with 8years working experience. However, I could not include the masters certificate because of my College aspirations (got to know about this through the guide I purchased, thanks to the guide too)

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED
1. Admission Offer letter
2. Deposit Receipt issued by school
3. SOP - a strong one, home ties was strongly established through father's company
4. Letter of Introduction by Sponsor - Father
5. Letter of Sponsorship - Father's company
6. First Degree Certificate
7. Ordinary Passport - a recent passport picture
8. Police Clearance Certificate
9. Father's company statement of account
10. Father's passport pages with visiting visas to UK and China
11. Company CAC and list of company directors
12. Passport data page
13. Wife's appointment letter showing remuneration
14. CV
15. Marriage Certificate

Online application was finally submitted on June 26th
Biometrics Completed on June 28th
Then came the dead silence for about 3months,

When it became evident that it's likely I don't get a response before school resumes in September, I wrote to the school requesting to defer my admission to January 2022 and it was acknowledged and granted with a new LOA issued after 2weeks. I didn't however upload this, I only requested incase IRCC requested for additional documents.

I was becoming impatient and I had to raise a webform on the 28th of September, then came the Medical request on the 29th of September. After raising the webform prior to receiving the medical invite, I became glued to my profile hoping for an update but there came none, I got closed the IRCC tab on my laptop and stepped angrily out of my office at exactly 12noon on the 29th and stepped out of my office only to come back 30mins later and saw a mail asking to check my profile, it seemed as the VO treating my file saw me when I got angry and left my office.

Medical was done at IOM Abuja on the 13th of October and I uploaded the document issued by IOM through webform on the 14th. IOM confirmed medicals was okay and has been transmitted to IRCC on the 15th with IRCC updating my profile to medicals passed on the same 15th of October.

I checked my profile like every second from the 15th till I suddenly got a mail on the 18th around 11am, my heart almost fell out of my mouth and I saw BVL, I almost fell off my chair with joy and I was expecting PPR since I had read in the thread that some people got their PPR immediately after BVL. The day eventually ended without the PPR in sight, then I became slightly worried again.

The PPR eventually came in on the 20th around 11am, I was in a meeting when I saw the mail and I could not concentrate anymore. I took a toilet break and went into my office, locked the door and the blinds and prayed first then i proceeded to log into my profile and with my heartbeat already racing twice than normal. There lies the PPR and I went down on my knees to thank God for the favor for I am a sinner.

@Jay316 @Scott99tish @SwayB @beedyboy

There goes the story folks, the ending and landing part will be concluded when all is finally tidied. Thanks for the patience and I pray all being expectant of their PPR will get it In Sha Allah.

Good day gurus in the house, I just started this student visa journey. I have applied to schools and I’m awaiting admission. Please I need guidance on my finances. I have about 10k dollars stored in a dorm account and the rest of the finance for myself and hubby and child is from the sale of a land of about 30k dollars. I would like to ask what is the best way to present my finances. Should I start now to break down that money and pay in bits into my salary or savings account or is it okay to pay the money in a lump sum into my account and also explain that land was sold to raise the funds for my studies?

Thanks
Furthermore, pls do you know if someone who applies to study in Canada is eligible to apply for permanent residency after one year course?
Also, do you have any idea of the living expenses that needs to be shown to stand a great chance of getting the visa?

viviangogos:
1) for schools that offer your course of choice, use the below link to do your search:

https://w05.educanada.ca/index.aspx?action=programsearch-rechercheprogramme&lang=eng

2) Career / academic progression is an important aspect to convince the VO for a successful visa application. If you are currently working in a particular field, submit proof of your work and why the studies will help you in your career. If you are fresh out of school, then you need to show progression in your study area. However, people do change career but your SOP will be very convincing enough on why the change, job availability in country of residence, and what value the course will add to you and your country in other to have a successful application.

All the best.

@Jay316 @Scott99tish @SwayB @beedyboy

There goes the story folks, the ending and landing part will be concluded when all is finally tidied. Thanks for the patience and I pray all being expectant of their PPR will get it In Sha Allah.

Congratulations....Insha Allah Canada vwill favour you...

Yayyyyy!! We have the same timeline... Congrats
CalcreteJB:

I applied to Durham College - got rejected based on educational gap;
Algonquin College - got rejected based on educational gap
Confederation College - abandoned the application because they referred that they use agents

Residentourist:
Landing gist 1
Travelled on Wednesday 20th October, 2021 to Regina via Lufthansa airline
Flight was slated for 10:55pm. Arrived airport at 6:30pm in time for check in. My family was let in without any fuss ( they probably assumed we were all travelling together)

We were told the scanning machine at the entrance wasn't working so they had to check the bag manually. I dropped small change (please don't judge me. I will repent it took days to pack the bags and I couldn't imagine having to rearrange it)

Got to the queue and the lady to check our documents was confused on how I was travelling with my 2 kids as they don't have a visa. I tried explaining to her that US citizens do not require one. She was being unreasonable but luckily her supervisor came and sorted things out. Took their passports and copies of birth certificates as well as the ArriveCAN receipt which included their details to go make some "confirmations" He came back and gave the all clear. Covid result was checked. I printed out the Lagos State results but was told the acceptable one is the one issued by the lab. I had downloaded the soft copies of that and the officer was gracious enough to scan it from my phone.I cellowrapped our bags at 1k each. We got our boarding passes and I hung out with my family for a while before proceeding to immigration clearance and all.

Flight was on time. (I don't know who told Lufthansa I am a vegetarian ) They served vegetarian pasta. It was quite tasty and my kids who are picky eaters enjoyed it. The flight wasn't fully booked. We were in the middle aisle that seats 4 but luckily no one was assigned the 4th seat.

We arrived Frankfurt and went through immigration. Not much activity here other than waiting for 6hours plus for our connecting flight. Visited McDonald's with my little humans. My Naira Mastercard from Gtbank didn't disappoint.

Flight to Toronto was next. Pleasant (we got a window seat yay!!!) Arrived at Toronto and attempted to do the self scanning and filling before proceeding to the officer at the qiosk but I kept getting an error message (the camera refused to snap my black face) I proceeded to the officer in the kiosk. He was very polite, ( everyone who attended to us from flight attendants, immigration officers etc were very polite and helpful)I was directed to another room where we stayed on an incredibly long queue. When it got to our turn, the officer collected my passport and those of my kids, asked for my admission letter and also asked if I had my spouse's consent to have the kids stay with me for the entire duration of my studies. I answered in the affirmative and showed him a consent letter my husband had written plus copies of their birth certificates and his passport data page. We were asked to seat and shortly after called forward to pick up my permit and visitor records for my kids.  He said the visitor's record makes it possible for them to attend school. Next I had to pass the maze for those who have items to declare (foodstuff) I told them my bags would be going directly to Regina (that was what I was told in Lagos) the yellow sheet was collected from me. When I got to the baggage claim area it was confirmed the bags had been checked in directly.
We proceeded to the gate for our connecting flight to Regina via Air Canada. The flight was on time. The plane was the smallest I have ever been on (so narrow) with two seats on each side hand, hand luggage couldn't fit into overhead locker so I put it underneath the chairs in front. Flight wasn't full and the seat beside me was empty so we got 2 window seats.
Arrived Regina safely at 10:04pm Regina Time which is 5:04am Naija time and since our flight was so late our bags were part of the last in the baggage claim area. The cello wrap I put on them were still intact and no one bothered me. Got a trolley (at no cost) to push them. My friend picked us up from the airport. It was cold!!!

To be continued...

I pray for all those who are hopeful...your expectations will not be cut short I Jesus name. AMEN!!!

A big thank you to my amazing ladies @lianna2020 abi na @ lianna2020 and @EverGrateful. These ladies can ginger for Africa. God bless you immensely!!!

Congratulations and thank God you landed safely...
Pls I will like to ask further on the vist visa for your kids and I intend going with my daughter too..she is 5 ,so is a visitor visa that will be issued and no need for getting authorization letter...Cos your landing gist just gave me some relief now..on how to figure out what to do..

No bank.

If you have naira equivalent of $4,000 for PTA....It is cheaper to book a return ticket than one way at the end. Even if you'll never use the return ticket.
Simple accounting!

There is actually, for scholarship students though

I have personally confirmed Ecobank and Fidelity. But you must have banked with them at least 6 months
