Help: Why Would God Commend the Unjust and Condemn the children of light .

Luke 16:8 (KJV) -
And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

NIV put it thus “The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.

New Living Translation
“The rich man had to admire the dishonest rascal for being so shrewd. And it is true that the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with the world around them than are the children of the light.

God said that children of the world are wiser than the righteous. Is this not an affront to the righteous ones?

You missed the message of the Parable which you quote from. The dishonest manager was obviously not a righteous man, but by forgiving the debts of those who owed his master, also worldly like himself, he ended up obeying his Master - God used that to teach us that He will forgive us our debts if we forgive those that are owing us a debt. undecided

Which God? Except you're speaking of mammon or the god of this world.

Haven't you heard or seen people calling someone who steals, cheats, defrauds, or even uses humans for money rituals, sharp men? While they called those who would not cheat or steal but choose to maintain their integrity, even when they had the opportunity to do so, fools or "mugu"?

That's exactly the point Jesus was making here of the people of this world who do such things, so He was actually speaking against such ways and reasoning of the world, which is very wrong and foolish, because despite that they considered themselves wise in their own sight, they were unwise and fools in the sight of God. Hence He went on to say:

Luke 16:9-13 (KJV)

And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?
No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

So I hope you can now see how erroneous your interpretation is.

God bless.
