Celebrity can be phony at times and pretencious. Two instances come to mind.
Met Ebuka Obi Uchendu at a tape manufacturing company that got burnt some months later. This was long after he featured in Big Brother. I didn't recognize his name and face but I knew he was popular. So we got talking for about 45mins and I kept trying to figure where I knew or met him. He kept the pretense like he also knew me but never said he was ex BBN. So we I later left but I knew his face was very familiar only to see him on Channels TV on Sunday evening hosting his show. The guy was a clown.
Second person was Desmond Idiotic Elliot. Met him at Stanbic ATM Addo roundabout Ajah and introduced myself. This was long before he became a legislator. I wasn't asking for anything I did so because my elder brother is also an actor who knows him having featured together or crossed paths in Nollywood. Can you believe he pretended not to know him. Incidentally we all met later at an Emem Isong movie premiere on the same table. I just dey look the idiot as e dey jist with my brother. The guy na complete mumu.

Had a meeting with a client for his project we were handling at the time. On my way out, saw a really tall figure walking in front, and pushing a baby trolley; I said to myself: “ This person looks like Mike of Bigbrother”. He turned facing my direction with a weird smirk, which turned into a straight face. I just face my front sharp, me wey be wan smile hail em before, I just face my way fast fast..


Came in to get gasoline in a gas station around festac, saw sound sultan, I hailed him with a subtle smile. He was overly amiable, smiled and even said goodbye to me when he was leaving. He looked far better in reality than pictures and videos. This was early this year. God bless his soul.


Another affable celebrity I have met was Sen Abaribe. We needed some sort of approval from him regarding a project, We got connected to him through his relative. He was so warm and welcoming. He is a rare gem I must say.


Let’s give these guys benefit of doubts, most of them are finding the celeb life extra demanding.

Don’t forget about the true celeb of your soul, that celeb that will never snub you or judge you, the celeb that’s always ready to meet you half way with open arms. The one that’ll accept you the way you are, and then transform you to the true version of yourself: Jesus

I have met Femi Adebayo and his father (Oga Bello). Very nice people. They make you feel like you are the celebrity. In fact, Oga Bello asks your name, and then begins to call you by your name as though you have known each other for years. And this is not a one-off thing. It happened severally.

I have met Peter Rufai too. The legendary Nigerian goalkeeper. Very nice man.

When meeting a celebrity,I think the best tin to do is to first greet dem,then politely ask if it's okay by dem,u wld love to take a selfie

This one is loud, uncouth and talks like a running tap that wouldn't stop supplying water from its source. He made sure he cussed everyone out the day he came. Before he entered one of the screens to see a movie, I politely asked for his pass. The man told me that I have no right to question him about a pass or do I not know who he is?

I was embarrassed at that moment because eyes were beginning to set on me.

He went outside of the screen and was screaming to the managers how I was hindering him to go see a movie which was at least 30 minutes gone. He started yelling for a refund and the manager told him that was impossible. He was told that it's either he agreed to our terms or we reschedule him for another movie time. Baba wasn't having any of it.

In retaliation, he threw the big pack of popcorn on the floor and made a whole mess on the ground we stood on. His wife is trying. What a big baby.

He had to go queue all over again to get the ticket that he should have purchased at first. This time, I asked him again, he gave it to me and didn't wait for his copy. He just hissed and went inside. I laughed out loud so he could hear. Mischievous me.

Was in 2005, we were on set firming the movie "ROYAL ENGAGEMENT". I & some of my fellow cast were sitting under a tree when uncle shege(segun arinze) walk up to us & was like "hey guys, were can i get a 'BIG TREAT' around here? As a typical warri street boys, we nor even know wetin be big treat we were just looking at him with our mouths shut! & Uncle shege was like "una nor know wetin be big treat? I was like, "no sir" . The next thing the frog-eyed man said was "see all this Dundee's".

Honestly if not that i was actually a little bit afraid of him because of how wicked he is in his movies, I for insult am run!

I used to work in an organisation where we host celebrities from all walks of fame every blessed day. Basketmouth and his cohorts came on this eventful day for a premiere of a movie.

I and another colleague were assigned to their space to attend to them and address whatever complaints they had. My colleague was anticipating joyfully and had told me how "in her words", I go snap picture tire with these celebs today. I wondered why she was that excited. I mean, they had never appealed to me anyway. So, I couldn't imagine what her hullabaloo was all about.

Deep into the event, this colleague couldn't control herself and went all berserk pleading with Basketmouth for a picture. I had to take 10 steps backwards because I had already anticipated a truckload of embarrassment from him since his countenance changed immediately that colleague went towards him.

" Hi Basketmouth, you are one of my favourite celebrities. Please, I beg of you, can I just have a picture with you as this moment means a lot to me.

Basketmouth in his usual condescending arrogance outrightly told her to get out of his presence and face her job. I was ashamed on her behalf. I could imagine myself in her shoes at that moment. I was sure she died a thousand times.

Well, the excuse is that celebrities are humans too, and could have their bad and good days, but no, Basketmouth is an arrogant person twice every day. I made sure I paid him back for the embarrassment he caused her and the come back was mad. He felt it.

The time arrived for food and drinks to be shared amongst them. I made sure I took less than a pack of food/drink to be given so he wouldn't get any. I intentionally delayed him for 3 hours until the show was approaching nil. He beckoned to me and asked me what his crime was as he was hungry and needed to eat badly.

Well, I condescendingly replied as well and told him that I wasn't the one assigned to his table and that when the lady who was assigned to his table arrives, he'll get food to eat. He went silent till the show ended. Nobody cares.

I have met them celebrities many times, I just go my way without giving them a second look. I met several of them sometime back at uniport. I just ignored tgem. Someone was introducing me to one of them, I just smiled, noded and went my way. Celebrity worship is for high school girls, who celebrity epp?

I guess she was going through a pretty bad patch...

pretty much interesting experiences...hopefully the celebs would have taken some tips, Also fans too should know when to approach, ignore and put them in their places.
I give it to that lady that placed Basketmouth and Bovi in their places as well as the Saint Obi guy. May we all be celebrated and never be a source of shame from fellow humans.
