Some primary school teachers and local government workers in Kogi have decried what they termed “neglect and lack of empathy for workers”.

Though the state government has been up to date with the payment of state workers, however, primary school teachers and local government workers still receive percentage salaries.

They said the policy was making life unbearable for them in view of the current economic hardship.

In a separate interviews with Vanguard, some local government workers and primary school teachers who all spoke on condition of anonymity, said since the state government tampered with their salary structure and payment system introducing one deduction after the other, many have had to contend with the new reality pursuant to the emergence of the New Direction led-government of Governor Yahaya Bello.

One of the workers who complained bitterly on phone, said she received N16,000 instead of N45,000 basic salary she ought to be paid as a Level 7 LG worker.

“As I speak to you, my son who is studying in KSU (Kogi varsity) called me to send money for him to refill his gas, but I couldn’t help but cry over the phone as a result of this critical situation in the state.

“The last salary I collected was N16,000. I am supposed to be paid N45,000 as a Level 7 worker, but the percentage salary has put me at a disadvantage,” one of the affected workers told Vanguard.

How could a governor deprive people of their rights? You were voted for to protect their interest and provide good governance but reverse is the case. You people will concentrate effort on projects that will enrich your pocket instead of addressing the need of the people you govern.

They have to contend with the reality till the end of his tenure. The inverted hatred for Faleye being a Tinubu boy brought them to this level. Melaye can really explain his lot in all these.

And the yeye man wants to be president to continue "the good work"

In terms of leadership, Nigeria is not blessed at all...all these people are there simply because tbe good guys think politics is a "dirty game.

Imagine the state of affairs of someone that's vying for presidency. Just imagine.

If this one becomes president by any chance, we will migrate from "borrowing to finance infrastructure" to "borrowing to pay salaries " . God forbid!

You talk as if you believe there's free and fair election in Nigeria. The vote of the the masses do not count in Naija. The ruling party often use military,INEC officials and tugs to rig election. Some LGAs that have never recorded more than 7000 vote in previous election suddenly have More than 150,000 votes because the incumbent Gov is from same.

What has the incoming President Yahaya Bello got to say about this?

Re: Kogi Local Government Workers Say They Now Look To God For Survival by Damidave1124(m): 5:56am On Nov 03, 2021
I've said tyis so many times on this platform, and I'm going to reiterate again, when it comes to remuneration of state government workers, Yahaya Bello is up and doing, he pays their salary in full and as when due.

But you see local government and primary school teachers, they are suffering in the hand of this wicked man called YEYE BELLO.

As for those saying gibberish about the election, YEYE BELLO used thugs and security operatives to rig himself in, and their was absolutely nothing we could do.

All they know how to do is to pay their media people well in other to cover up for them on every social media platform. We have them here on nairaland too.
