revolt:
the other African countries don't have huge oil deposits. They import crude and don't even have operational refineries. Most of these wack african nations import fuel. If you deregulate the economy becomes bigger plus a lot of job creation and more purchasing power. The spiral effect and competition will balance priceechanisms. Just take a cue from the GSM industry and educate yourself. The GSM industry is dust compared to the petroleum sector. It's brainless we haven't deregulated. Oh well I'm igbo so you probably don't understand biz .... its alien to most of you folks lol. The fact were arguing deregulation is a pointer to why you guys voted buhari
.. whag you ppl need now is a capitalist president not all these socialist mallams trying to operate socialist policies that have NEVER worked any where in the world. Even the USSR.

Well,

1.Drop the tribalism, I don't hate Igbos, or any Nigerian tribe for that matter.

2.I am very much pro-deregulation myself and have been for over 10 years. But the thing is, most Nigerians, Ibos inclusive...don't support deregulation because it means higher prices for fuel in the short term. They cannot see the long term benefits.

You lie not, our people are greedy... I be Igbo man.
The high cost of commodity down here is our doing....The business men here, make it hard.
Agro products brought to east are highjacked by our so called brothers and union market people (middle men); they tell the hausa man to raise the price and give them high commission.

Any Igbo person who defends this wrongdoing doesn't mean well for the next generation....

This reminds me of one day I was coming back from work...on the route I used to ply for #50, I got to the junction only to find four persons there and one Keke guy, the foolish keke guy left his business of the day to enforce #100 even when his fellow tricycle people were willing to take #50. This guy kept preventing them and only agreed people who complied with the #100 new fare.

I arrived with a lady, she hopped into one of the keke while beckoning on me to come in; I told her I wasn't willing to pay the new fare. She must have thought I was a miser. I stood with the guys there while telling them we are kings and should enforce price and not the other way round. Consumers are kings and should control price. The high cost of things is because some persons think they have the purchasing power so others should go and die.

One thing I kept thinking was... So a family that has five children going to federal government college nearby would have to pay #1000 fare daily for a short distance. Long story short, another keke came by willing to take us for #50 while the mumu guy came to take the key from ignition, I challenged him, also the owner of the keke stood up against him, that he can't dictate for him how much to collect...that was how we were lifted from there.

Since i became knowledgeable, Petroleum Prices in the EAST are highest in the Land...and they don't protest. IGBO people strong ABEG!!

But in Northern Nigeria where everything is "gawernment" petrol stations beg people to buy fuel.

Beacuse they voted "Buhari" and they dare not go against him as perpetual cowards, the SW would have erupted if the incessant increases was done by "Jonathan"!!...Imagine buying fuel @ 162 a liter and still the EAST is buying @200 without issues!!...AGAIN IGBO people strong abeg!!

I say this repeatedly, the SE is the "live wire" of a zoo system that favors zombies and miscreants.

Without the SE the zoo will crumble...and sincerely speaking the zoo must crumble...Tufiakwa!!

The people shouting 1 Nigeria are people who are stereotyped to be dependent on Government for everything ...even the air they breathe!!

Shameless zombies without vison...Tufiakwa!!

[s]Dumb illiterate almajiri, if only you attended school instead of carrying begging plates and scavenging around, you would have known about things like middle men, transportation costs, warehousing and the rest.

If a bag of beans is sold for 20 naira in Sokoto and buyers transport it to P.H, settle your corrupt police and custom that mount roadblock every one kilometer, pay for warehouse before selling to the retailer who then sells to the end user, don't you know that all those costs would have been added that made the beans to cost 150 naira in P.H?

In that same P.H, the average beans seller lives in a good house and sells in a standard shop (which would be paid for), unlike your fellow almajiris that sleep in inhuman shacks and push barrow about because you don't want to live like normal human beings and pay rent!

Igbos are greedy and sell things expensively according to you hateful bigots, yet they control wholesale and retail trade accross Nigeria? What stopped you guys from taking advantage of the so-called Igbo "greed" to establish your own businesses and sell cheaper?

You all are so daft that it embarrasses me to share a country with such disgusting elements.

Ofcourse every Igbo person Knows that to protest is your right...and its also right. But what i meant was "protesting" incessantly and having no result. IGBOs dont come out constantly to rant like "yaribaa" that gave Jonathan Hell...but Buhari has done the unthinkable and all of a sudden every where is quiet. IGBOs wont protest. because if they do..this same "yaribaa" will say IGBO want to destroy Lagos and all their useless narratives.

BEFORE an IGBO man goes berserk because of hunger Yoruba and their Fulani masters are DEAD!

Abia State is in a deplorable state... I look forward to IPOB standing at that election booth and insisting no vote buying and ensuring the votes count. If we can't get our region working, the central government will do little to help us.

Back to the issue at hand... Enter your big market, where Agro products from north lands, make enquiries from the retailers about what happens the moment trucks land.

Don't mind them they don't know that NNPC controlled by the federal government allocates fuel to different states however they want.
They will send less fuel to southeast states that needs it and send more to the north that doesn't need it thereby creating scarcity in the southeast hence the price increase and surplus In the North.

You can't take petrol meant for a particular state to another one it's a crime.
The comments on this forum most times just shows how daft Nigerians are.
Not necessarily daftness. Just pure hatred making their ECU misfire.
Every passing day,I'm realising how very correct Chinua Achebe was when he made that statement of "what unites Nigerians"

Stop talking nonsense, do I look like IPOB or did I tell you I'm living in Aba with you?

So, you think there are no Yorubas living in Aba who can speak fluent Igbo?

Where exactly is government college located in Aba as you claim as you claimed in your epistle?

Lekwa nwa bingo, no sensible Igbo man will come to a stupid thread to condemn Igbos, only senseless fool or afonja living in Aba will do that.

I was born in the North had my formative years. Served in Yobe and lived there for a while before migrating again to the SW. During my nysc year and few years afterward that I stayed behind I travelled a lot between the East and Yobe up to Maiduguri. The number of police check point from onitsha Park to Obollo Afor is more than you would find between Benue to Maiduguri.

I don't know how it is recently but given the security situation I would think you would find military check point up north rather than police check points. We all know that the chief extortionist is the police.
Same number of checkpoints or worse now sef.
Lived in Jerusalem, Damaturu d whole of 2013.
It used to be so frustrating after driving down from DTR with little or no checkpoints despite d state of emergency then.
Then immediately you cross Benue/Enugu boundary, you start seeing them every 100 metres, all of them violently attempting to extort you.

Well, I dunno about this so I won't argue with you.
As I stated earlier, things are more expensive in S/S and S/E than the North and some states in the West and it's not just petroleum products.

Whenever there's rumour of strike by Tanker drivers or Marketers, some petrol stations here will stop selling and the ones still opened will immediately raise their prices.

If your assertion is true, then there must be a reason because, I believe that there are marketers from that region and they would have raised alarm.
Some things are cheaper in the east compared to d North and some cheaper in d North compared to the east.
No let hatred blind you.
