After a year of conflict that has left thousands dead, forced more than two million people from their homes and pushed parts of the country into famine, the tide of the civil war in Ethiopia has kept on raging.

Fighters from Ethiopia’s northern region of Tigray and their allies announced that they are pressing south toward the capital, Addis Ababa, after driving government troops from Tigray in June. They have since also pushed east, hoping to seize the road that connects to the port in neighboring Djibouti, which would give them control of a key supply route.

The Ethiopian Government and Tigray People's Liberation Front have been urged to ceasefire and return to the negotiation table.

However, the TPLF continue to approach the Capital, despite calls for dialogue by Jeffrey Feltman and Olusegun Obasanjo, Special Envoys to the Horn of Africa for the US and AU respectively.

These western countries don't like the fact that u can grow and challenge their interests in other places... That is why they have issues with China. They also benefit from our failure to manufacture anything meaningful, so we import a lot from them which help their economy. They also benefit from our failed educational system and we pump in so much money into their education, health care, tourism, etc. They also have allies who have interest in many African countries where they exploit the resources such as Congo DRC, etc. Western allies respect and protect one another's interest. Anyone who rises to defend or change these systems, they send CIA after such a leader and get him killed. Lol
Those guys have killed many African leaders and activists who tried to challenge the system. They deliberately made Africa poor.

Where I have issues with us is how we allowed them to use us. In most cases, they raise people within the country to fight the leader. Because Africa is tribal in nature, they look for a tribe that has been maltreated, fund the tribe and use the tribe to cause uprising

It is a game over for the black race. Our weakness is what these guys are using against us. And also the fact that a normal black man loves money and material things. They also entice uprising by gifting the person they want to use money, houses and assets in first world countries.

Egypt is the biggest winner in this conflict because that dam on the nile looks like it will never be completed. And wouldn't be surprised if they are funneling weapons to the rebels, all i see here is a leadership failure by the Ethiopian PM leading to the catastrophe going on in the Tigray region and Ethiopia in general.

The African Union is an underperforming institution. In situations like this, they need to form military contingent made up of soldiers from different African countries to defend Addis Ababa and its outskirts. Come on! This is a democratically elected prime minister. Those who are supposed to uphold democracy are telling their citizen to run away. That's quite white of them. I'm not surprised. No country on earth would harbor rebels nor leave one inch of its territorial space.
Ethiopia is renowned to be the only African nation that never got colonized, even though Italians had a short stay over there. Ethiopia is the pride of Africa. We can't allow her to be messed up like this.
