In this case the OP should use Ph.D. student on his document, he may as well include the date for example: Ph.D. Student (2020 till date).

Post Graduate Student is what you are please....inshort, since you guys in Nigeria craze so much for Title....just label yourself PGDs and if you like Add Bsc, B.eng etc.....Na wa for Nigerians and title sha... Anyway, better label yourself Awaiting PHD or PHD in view or waiting....

post graduate and PhD the same?
Pg means post graduation,which is done after you complete your under graduation course. Phd is the degree of doctorate in any subject which means it is the highest graduation degree . Pg is a course of usually two years while phd is a course which has a duration of three years.

They think they can hide their low self esteem behind titles and being overtalkative.

Nigerians and titles. In France it only medical doctors that can use the title of Dr. Phd programmes are for those in academics and they don't use title Dr. They put Phd after their name.
In some countries as well, use of Dr title for non- physcian is restricted in any healthcare setting and if you have to use Dr, you must qualify it so as not to confuse the patients.
If you are yet to get your Phd, use Phd (in view), you are still a candidate.

If you mean on documents requiring statement of qualification (for example CV), it is stated as PhD (in view). Thanks.

. However PhD in view is meaningless for it adds no special value until the program is completed. Fir example if you are on your PhD you will be employed based on your MA or MSC. If you are on your MA or MSC you will be employed based on your BA or Bsc. So in view program has no value in academics until it is completed.
