No surprises if LM wins the award. By all standard/performance, 1998 was Jay Jay's year but it was Hadji Mustapha of Morocco that won the African Player of the Year Award. 2010 was Wesley Schneider's year, with spectacular appearances for Holland at the world cup and Inter Milan but he lost out on the award. Not even sure he made the top three. Thierry Henry's spectacular performances for Arsenal weren't good enough to win the award at least once.
