Goodluck did miscalculation. He wanted to settle the North first so they could help vote him in for second tenure, in which he would then execute his key projects but that calculation failed as North didnt appreciate his efforts but wanted their own Son Buhari instead

Goodluck broke the secret code that was created after the civil war that no Igbo man will become Chief of Army Staff. The funny thing about Nairaland is that the people accusing the Igbos of being hateful of other tribes and want to be given President on a platter of gold are also equally hateful of the Igbos and other tribes too, just read some of their statements above.

As someone from the South, the plain truth is that it will be generally difficult from someone from the South to be president, except you're ready to lick the balls of the Northerners.

It will be very easy for the Northerners to use their poros borders to import machineries and underage people both from the North and also from Niger Republic to vote for them, while the South lags behind on the collection of PVC and are uninterested in voting.

And it's not like the presidency has benefitted those from the North that has ruled Nigeria the most times since independence..... it's just pure greed.

Go and ask your father to tell you the truth, as a result of the 1966 pogrom against Igbos living in the North, which followed the removal of Aguiyi Ironsi as Head of State, Igbos living outside Igbo regions returned back to Eastern region in droves, and in order to secure Igbo lives after Gowon the then Head of State intentionally refused to stop.the killings of Igbos in the North, Ojukwu through the power Eastern Nigerian People vested on him after a meeting, declared Eastern Region an independent region called Biafra.


It was Gowon that rather declared war against Igbos for leaving Nigeria in the wake of a widespread pogrom (genocide) against Igbos.

The real issue is that the igbo man is not one that is subservient, allow an igbo man he will come to your village with a torn jeans and slippers poorly unkempt, the locals will be mocking him, but give that man 4years he would rent a flat buy a car and even commence building a new house in his village.
