The soot issue has assume a hydra headed dimension. The Federal Government is clueless on how to to go about ameliorating the situation. Gov. Wike isn't bothered about it because some of his supporters at the rural area are neck deep in bunkering activities.

My only regret is using a milk colour tiles in tilling my seating room some 12years ago. The said tiles have a way of eccentuating the severity of the black soot. The moment water spill on the tile and someone whose foot has the impramatuer of black soot step on it, that spot automatically get messed up.

My worry is the startling discovery that the black soot has the capacity to render men impotent.

The Federal Government needs to declare the black soot as an environmental emergency and exert the required energy towards finding a solution to the problem.

The FG did go hard on the illegal refiners some years back (2016/2017), both ground operations and shooting boats conveying fuel from helicopters (so many videos online) but the operation wasn't getting public support cos people felt torching illegal refineries and arresting those running it is not the way to go. Hard way is the only way in this Nigeria..... 4 years later, we are back and it's even more serious cos illegal refineries contributes 85% of these black soots if not more.

This should be as a result of illegal refining of petroleum products

One thing I like black soot for is that it doesn't discriminate between the powerful and the poor.
At the right time the damage done on both will manifest.

. Both illegal refining and the various oil and gas flow stations accross the state, but majorly from illegal refining and our governor isn't even concerned. He is only interested in building flyovers and collecting huge cuts on inflated contracts. I thought that with the way and speed he took soldiers down to Obigbo to kill Igbos there, that he would use same energy to run the illegal bunkering criminals out of town. But no. He allowed them to continue because such will not generate much funds for private pockets. Nonsense.
stopping illegal bunkering In rivers state is like stopping drug trafficking in Mexico. The security personnels responsible in curbing bunkering are actively involved in it.
