My nephew carelessly pressed the sleep button on the tv in our house. The screen went blank but the red power on button was showing when I switched on the tv.I tried all techniques to make it turned on but it didn't.So I took it to a tv repairer. He charged me #1500 and asked me to come back the next day. After repairing it I took it home.
As i was using the remote to search for channels.I mistakenly pressed the sleep button and the tv went blank but the red light power button was on.I pressed the sleep button again the tv screen came up.That was how I knew that nothing serious happened to my tv.

You should be grateful he didn't charge you for screen replacement. Lol

It is call experience, I know you will say this small thing but that's just what it is.

You're paying for his experience.

Your story highlights the importance of maintaining good relationship with our customers.

As businessmen there should be things we should be willing to do for our customers free of charge for the sake of maintaining good relationship with them.

Even though we are all in business to make money we must always remember that money is not always everything. Good relationship with our customers matters.

In your case, the panel bester failed a test of good customer relationship due to his greed.

dohyn:
To the repairer, he is smart and the customer is paying him for the knowledge, but to the customer, this is cheating. It's all about perspective.
I used to have this egbon panel beater whom I patronised to fix my car then when I first started driving. I noticed on 2 occasions after taking my car to the car wash that the back door wouldn't open from inside.
I took the car to him twice and he'd asked me to drop the car whilst he fixed it. Of course, I paid. On the 3rd occasion, another mechanic was there and he showed me that it was the child lock that the car wash guys were tampering with.
E pain me die and I felt so stupid. I never patronised that guy again. Was that small subterfuge worth it?

A lot of Nigeria are terrible human beings but they still believe they are not the problems. A lot of fraudsters here.

I know a lot more than but I am into programming.

If you ask me to repair something for you and I realized that thing is simple to repair, what we usually do is to ask you for your price and if you can't, we give a fair price and show you what we did.

These terrible Nigerians learned from the knowledge others are sharing but they can't share with their fellow Nigerians.

Who is the wicked person here? The Niggas and negro motherf*ckers commenting in this thread that this is business. Bunch of illiterates with no ethics and morals.

To see how the westerns are giving out knowledge for free on YouTube, though they are getting paid through views.

That's why if a Naija guy/girl tells me there's a way I could make money my next question is what is in for you. Nobody in Nigeria will just wake up one morning and wants to help a random person.

Hello there gentlemen,

I was using my Samsung Galaxy Tab A two days ago when the battery hit zero and it went off. Due to the urgency of the task at hand, I hooked it up to its adapter and turned it back to continue.
Sadly the phone froze soon after it reached the homescreen and went off. It has refused to come on ever since.

Please what could be the fault?
I ask in the hope that one of you won't mind giving out some free advice in the spirit of Xmas. I need it so i don't get bilked when i go to computer village to fix it after this festive period

Maybe the battery is too low. Just connect it to the charger and leave it for like 2-3 hours.

He did no wrong. While the client might be busy partying, the engineer was busy reading up and searching for more knowledge. He has just converted the knowledge he painstakingly acquired into cash. These days, what you know rather than the size of what you can do is what brings value

I read something somewhere, I spent 15 years getting a knowledge so I could do I particular job for 5minutes. You aren't paying for the 5 minutes but the values the 15 years brought.

you have time to repair. the last time I took a phone for fixing was 13 or 12 years ago.

I remember I used infinix for 2 years and 5 months till it almost shut down on its own,I didn't even bother to check it..... Going to a phone engineer to fix it is a waste of time and money. more fixing, more issues, more money.

You will need to change the phone battery but to open it yourself is the problem

The frozen might be software issue but find a way to open it

Boost the battery to know if it will on proper

You have to understand the following:
1. These technicians don't get work always
2. There's inflation in Nigeria. That 2k look at what will happen to it.
Palm oil (1 bottle) N800
Ugu N150
Maggi N50
Salt N100
Meat or fish N100. All these items none will last for more than a week in a family of five. The remaining is pocket money till another works comes and transport. You should even be dashing these daily income earners money. I know how much I spend on them.

Fixing of phone without care can cause problem between the engineer and his customer.Havent you heard how some engineer damage customer's phone in the process of getting it fixed. That is why they charge extra. In case a problem comes up.They will use part of the money to buy the part.

What are you talking about? This is something very simple, go to the settings and turn off the voice assistant.... How is that going to damage someone's phone. The settings takes less than 1 minutes.

If there's anything like judgement day, that's if the words found in the Bible happens to come to fulfilment, I bet your own judgement will be greater than that of the phone engineer...Ask me why?

I have no business with what the phone engineer charged the customer, in the eyes of Nigerians the phone engineer is right after all he's not running a charity organization and the Op is right to keep mum but Divine judgement cannot be applied using Nigerian street law of being smart, and because of that @ Op has the greater judgement.

What do you believe sir?

exactly!!! Dishonest people full this country. Charge him fair then teach him how to adjust the settings on his phone.

Some of them are even supporting the rubbish,it is not every little chance that one cheats to make money. Haaa

Its just sad.... With all the cheating, he probably has been doing the job for 10 years, and nothing to show for it. Sometimes, merely doing something free or fairly charging someone might actually open bigger doors....

He delivered a value. If the phone owner can solve the problem, he won't come over there. I have no problem with that. He didn't lie that he will go to Kafachan to go buy a phone part to use in fixing it.

That's knowledge for you. You pay for what you don't know or you pay for the time value. I advise upcoming guys who have a lot of time at their disposal to know how to use google/youtube. They can learn how to fix many things from there and that will save them a lot of money.
