Come with a new hard drive,new memory chip and new software ,so to speak.Being timely like 3-5min early for appointments or work(Africans have a bad lateness habit),have integrity and work ethic,evolve and learn,reduce your accent for better communication,be cleaner coz Americans generally think Africans are lacking in this area,embrace a maintenance/organization culture and pay every bill on time.Have extra drive/motivation and leave our chaotic culture behind.And please don't litter here like we do in our cities you'll get heavy punishment.

These are some habits that make America work well,make it richer and always look nice and pristine in pictures or videos.

Yes, I even think its the norm. Most people travel to places even worse than America and still emerged triumphantly. Its about the person, not necessarily the location.

Many guys went to countries that don't speak English and don't even use the alphabet systems (eg Russia with its Cyrillic and China with its calligraphy) and made it big. Travelling far out of your country is one of the most challenging experiences that will reveal whether one is a hustler or not. Because no one will be there to have your back, and you also can't blame anyone.

To be irresponsible is a kinda privilege, because it means someone is carrying your weight somewhere. Going abroad leaves you exposed, vulnerable, and a true jungle out there. Hence lots of folks becomes illegal immigrants because its not easy. When you travel abroad alone, you won't have the privilege to be irresponsible.

I don't know about the US. But I do know a course that will teach you all you need to do to get to Canada without a student visa. I had a friend who bought it last year he didn't need the help of an immigration consultant.

Gone are the days bro. It’s always better to have a network either directly or indirectly. Bro, no be joke. If you stay for Motel 6, an average night goes for like 55 dollars depending on the city. Before your SSN go arrive sef, no be joke. Things were easier pre-pandemic. These days, no be joke to get appointment for any government establishment.
It’s possible to travel to anywhere without knowing anybody but you go see hell. I mean it. The experience is hell on earth oooo.

Maybe you were lucky. If for instance, the guy carry 5,000 usd and arrives at Dulles Airport without knowing anyone. It’s 12 F right now. It’s very very cold. The first thing is to arrange Uber or lyft and go bunk for one hotel. Minimum for this area is like 75 dollars. How many nights is the fella going to sleep without working before he depletes his savings of 5 k usd? Please don’t encourage people to embark journey without throwing out all information.
Again, with your non-immigrant visa, don’t start your journey without having the full gist and options. America no be Nigeria. The cold itself can kill you if care is not taken.
