I still don't get it. Why spending this much. Does it worth it?

Well it depends on your career and your goal in life.

An average IT support earns 150k - 250k per month here which practically finishes without savings at the end of the month BUT same IT support can earn as low as £3k - £4 k per month.

Let us assume 50% goes with all expenses including tax, £1,500 - £2,000 balance remaining will make you know this process is worth it when you convert it to Naira @ N780/£ and duly enjoy basic amenities you are been taxed for.

Which best is in Nigeria biko? Do you knw how many doctors and nurses who have left Nigeria within the past 12 months? All public universities have been on strike for sometime now. Most professor are even leaving.

I strongly disagree with you on your statement "na poverty dey drive everyone".
Presently, my boss with all his money and wealth has been in the UK with his wife for 4 months now in pursuit of PR. Him too dey poor abi?
My former emplyer's children all schooled in the UK. Still poverty abi?

This over N30m wey pesin like me wan use japa (family of 4), would you also say na poverty?

My dear, I still maintain that if you have kids, the best thing you can do for them is to give them foreign citizenship (like Uk). Nothing is guaranteed but take the first step fess

I repeat na poverty dey drive people, take it or leave it, being a nurse or Dr does not immune you against poverty,a university professor is not a ticket to huge wealth,if you think i am lying check the salaries of university professor in uk,most of them are around £32,000 -£45,000.
When I say poverty,it is not the absence of money alone, poverty of the mind is the worse which is more rampant these days, it has to do with what has been ingrained into our brains, your "Rich Boss" who abandoned his business to seek PR is only rich in currency but not in business or managerial acumen,he must have been those who suddenly found themselves on top.
Lastly, you see those who are leaving because you are hell bent on leaving, because that is the only thing that make sense to you,no qualms, but i see so many who are back from the same journey.
Those business ideas and innovations you see around are the handiwork of returnees, some of the best specialist Hospitals you see around today are own by them, the finance house's,the Fintechs, the IT Servicing companies, the oil servicing companies, the independent Media and what have you.
I am not against any going anywhere, but i can assure you that in 10yrs time you will be back to same Nigeria to come and make money/impact.
Just go and add value to yourself but no too put mind

Hello everyone, for a dependant that wants to pay IHS fee, what should be filled as the partner's visa expiry date when the partner's visa is yet to be issued?

Lol, alot of people think money grows like grass when they eventually get to a working system like the uk and co, as things take a little time to actualize. One thing people need to understand is the fact that, thought process, plans and positive determination need to be put in check, there and then is the only way to achieve more. Getting entitled after after understanding the realities of things in the uk is a BiG FAT NO! my country man.

U people who think you can dissuade the average Nigerian from the japa movement by sounding discouraging or like it will be a very difficult, challenging, and impossible experience, u are greatly wasting your time, the more you dissuade the more interested and propelled a Nigerian become, trust me some of us av seen worse. Ask those Nigerians who refused to comeback from a war striking country like Ukraine, some felt it was way better to die their than to come back, imagine that.... Anyway, firstly, their are various categories of people living this country; The rich, who can afford not just to invest in their children but invest for them as well, these ones can come home cos they have it both ways. The second, those who can invest in their children but not for them (mostly the average Nigerian) these ones don't see a country with a vision, they have seen Nigeria rapidly decline to what it is today, from good to bad to worst, and are afraid that the future holds no favorable plans or outcome for their offsprings so they invest in them, in countries with a vision that is favorable base on their subjective idea of what they deem a favorable future for their children looks like. Lastly the have not, they mostly have to borrow to invest in their children's future, they suffered from the deteriorating educational, financial, political and all round system of Nigeria, so they av a very traumatic nd negatively impacted idea of Nigeria as a result of being at the bottom, and are therefore willing to do whatever it takes to make sure their offsprings don't experience the same hardships as they did. Whichever category you find yourself will influence your idea/perception of the Japa movement. No perception is similar, but please no one should negate or sound reductive about other peoples reasons to want to japa, it all comes from somewhere. All we should do as a community that strives to be better than the ones before us is to help each other make the best decisions for the japa movement not to sound discouraging or reductive, but support with information or tangibles to help each other get the best from this japa movement. If you see someone doing it the wrong way try to support not just scold and talk from a place of privilege but from understanding, all fingers no dey equal, yet, na only together dey fit carry something. Success to all our japa movement plans....

Nigerians! Is this needed here? Wetin concern UK jakpa with Sam Adeyemi?

Kenson1:

Real Reasons Pastor Sam Adeyemi Relocated to the US

Life is too precious to be spent fighting other people. This is a lesson that people should learn and learn quickly. From every indication, notable author, public speaker, and Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Center, Sam Adeyemi, knows this lesson well. Those claiming to be in the know have reported that Adeyemi’s understanding of this lesson is the primary reason he is no longer in Nigeria but in the United States where dreams come true and governments aren’t petty.

October 20, 2020, will likely be recorded in Nigeria’s history books as a day that saw the heart of Nigeria crack. While there is still no consensus regarding whether military persons shot and killed unarmed youths who were on a peaceful protest or not, the fact that there is even a debate on the possibility of this is alarming. But that day was remembered in 2021 by many prominent Nigerians including Pastor Adeyemi.

For someone who is actively involved in efforts to stimulate the potential of young Nigerians, it was not at all strange to see Pastor Adeyemi supporting the #EndSARS movement in 2020 or remembering the October-20 incident. However, his support has allegedly cost him more than he is willing to admit to his followers.

As such, reports claim that he relocated to the US to have peace of mind. It is no secret that certain individuals attempted to have Pastor Adeyemi, among others, convicted for supporting the youths that took part in the #EndSARS protest. Although the case was thrown out of court for his absolute absurdity, scars were left on the mind of the Daystar pastor. And these scars motivated him to leave the country for ‘the owners.’ Or so the reports claim.

In truth, Pastor Adeyemi is still very committed to helping Nigerians grow out of mediocrity and thoughtlessness. He is just doing it out of – rather than within – the country. After all, a virtuous person can sacrifice their own life, but only mad people would let someone else assault their families. And Pastor Adeyemi is no mad man.

This is quite appreciated .

quote author=AlphaUno post=112168644]

The total required for her POF was £34,450 (bal of tuition, and maintenance for all) and was what she converted to naira around 19m + (560/pound in early February) but she had 21.8m in the account to make room for forex fluctuations.

So while the Naira kept gaining against d pounds due to Ukraine war, it was @ her advantage. With the oanda rate of 540 to a pound as at when application was with U K V I, the applicant was having about £40k in d account when converted

Both VF and IHS are per person
IHS. £705 being a one year course

Visa fee. £348 (it's now £363)

Mix up regretted
