Yes, but joining NATO is just by wishing, otherwise Ukraine would have been a member by now.

There four strict requirements:
1. Must be a democratic Government.
2. Must reduce corruption to a particular index measured internationally.
3. Must be able to to contribute to NATO forces.
4. Must be accepted by all member countries now about 30.

Ukraine is only cleared on item 1 above….hence his call to 27 NATO member countries were meet with silence.

Russia provides a third of Europe's liquified gas and other petroleum needs. Shutting it off SWIFT means cutting off contractual payment route for it's delivery. That would bring about a halt to Russia's delivery. I wonder if you know the implication. Oil already at its highest might shoot to 250$ a barrel. A figure enough to bring about a collapse of the world's economy. Always have in mind you dont know better than the Americans and Europeans with regards to the consequences of Millitary action and or extreme financial sanctions against Russia..
