Kudos to Wike for championing the VAT struggle for States. He'll go down in history as the father of restructuring for the new Nigeria.
It started first in Lagos

No more enjoyment of VAT from alcohol by states that ban sale of alcohol.

It started in Lagos years ago but lost on technical ground ( suing the FG). What Wike did was explore the technicality & sue the appropriate agency (FIRS).

We are talking about addressing our own peculiar problems , sagay is talking about nonsense .in the present system, State Governments don’t take care of most local governments chairmen . Leadership should always be developed from the grassroots . Most local governments are just appointed by the the political party in power in the state and they always go cap in hand to beg the governor for funds for projects . That nonsense needs to stop . I applaud the passage of the bill .

States will be shouting .....na God win....a don get alert..God....win.... chai! Na Lagos go dey dance seriously. Chia. Apapa sea port. Chai. Lekki Sea port... Yeeee! Badagry seaport.... 3 gbosa for Lagos....Gbosa! Gbosa!! Gbosa!!!

Ibo, do not ever leave Naija. You weren't only the one cheated, Lagos and Rivers were cheated too. But I understand the pain.

At the same time, please, look at your own governors too. They are always your enemies. Please, fix that one first. Put people like Soludo there. Let me tell you, after oil, FG cannot control anytning again. You dont need to split now, the era of FG controlling resources is about to be over. You may not enjoy it, your children may not, but your generations after will. So, why leave Nigeria? It doesnt make sense again.

By 2050, most states will have more than 80% control of their resources. Then, oil and gas will have become less attractive to the world.

But I read somewhere on this forum that it was voted against.

Hahahaha! Do you think NL can run it's own report?

Do you want to know the truth, as LindaIkeji dey copy and paste like Xerox, na there NL dey pick some if the front page news. grin Like a dullard in an elementary school copying another dullard..lol. I'm not joking.

Hahaha. But NL should have invested in quality front page news. Imagine mods scouting for news on Lindaikeji, the queen of copy & paste. Queen of copyright violator. That one na juju? Nope...na incompetency. Yes, lifting news from lindaikeji and the likes of it is a high level incompetency rating.

Lagos' case was the Locus for Rivers to build on.
Also, so you know, it wasn't Wike who won the first victory. A certain SAN sued the FIRS over VAT and won. It was on the strength of that Rivers adopted his brief of arguments and sued the FIRS.
